  1. I am a total sass bucket online. Irl, I'm very quiet and asocial.
  2. I was in 7th and 8th grade. I turned 14 in 8th grade.
  3. Cheese, himself, said he never intended to take her place. Everybody just kind of got swept up in the moment at the opportunity to meet somebody new.
  4. No, I don't. Because I ship Pinkie Favor. (Not technically, but I support the shipping of those two.) Also, like the OP said, Pinkie and Cheese are too similar. In fact, that was Cheese Sandwich's primary function: to be analogous to Pinkie. Party Favor, on the other hand, is more his own pony. He has similarities to Pinkie, in that they both (presumably) like parties, but they have different fortes and different priorities. Also, they have different looks. (Cheese is basically just a taller, male Pinkie Pie.) Also, from an aesthetic perspective, Party Favor's colors go better with Pinkie's coloring than Cheese's do. No matter which way you slice it, I think Pinkie and Party Favor go together much better than Pinkie and Cheese. Except the name. I don't think any shipping name could ever beat "Cheese Pie."
  5. I have a really weird pony waifu. It's Apple Cider. Do you even know who that is? No, of course you don't. Nobody does. Yeah, I'm really weird :\ I think she was only in, like, one episode. Her personality is something I've just imagined, and I think she'd be really nice and kind and polite, but also slightly adventurous. My husbando, on the other hand, is Shining Armor. I don't care that he's married. He's just so nice and noble and responsible, I <3 Shining Armor. And Braeburn. Because Braeburn.
  6. Even though Fluttershy's my favorite, I'd say Pinkie Pie. Flutters seems like she'd be really slender and also squeamish, which would make it not fun. Pinkie Pie, however, seems like she'd be totally into it. Also, she seems like she'd have a squishy belly XD To pet or stroke someone's abdomen. Like you'd pet a dog on their underside while they're lying down.
  7. Call me shallow, but I find physical attractiveness to be more important. That's not to say that personality isn't important. I believe a personality you like and a compatibility of personalities is incredibly important. The way I see it, though is like this: if two people had the exact same personality which was very compatible to mine, but one was hot and one wasn't and I only met one of them in this specific scenario, if I met the unattractive person, I wouldn't end up going out with them. If I met the attractive one, I would. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean they have to be super hot or anything. But if you're not attracted to them, how are you gonna have sex? Like I said, that might sound shallow, but it's just how I feel. I couldn't do it with someone I wasn't physically attracted to, no matter how great a personality they had. Overall, though, I say I'd need to be compatible with both. Looks without personality makes an emotional connection suffer and personality without looks makes the physical connection suffer. However, I feel like there's this almost conditioned response to this kind of question. Like people are expected to say that personality matters more. And to some people, it does. However, I don't think that putting a high value on physical attractiveness makes a person shallow. But I don't think it's a bad thing to consider both. It just comes down to what an individual needs. And my individual needs are that I need someone I won't be grossed out by when things start to get physical. And, again, keep in mind, these are just my opinions and my personal requirements. I'm not saying anyone else has to hold themselves to this standard. Rather, I think everyone ought to hold themselves and their partners to a standard that they feel comfortable with.
  8. Okay, I'm just gonna rearrange this whole post in order to throw out now irrelevant information and to prevent the post from getting super long. So parts of this I wrote before, parts I wrote just now. I kinda thought I'd like to make some videos about MLP and I thought I'd wanna make my own character. In previous times when I was gonna do this, I thought I'd have it be my Clover Heart OC, but there were... issues... with that. So instead, I wanted to make a new one to be a skin for myself. I drew and vectored this one: This is just a monochromatic version, so if you have any other ideas of your own, you can think about them easier. I kind of formed all the palettes around the one green color. Green is my favorite color and I like that color of green, so I wanted to incorporate it into my design. Also, I like cool colors. My favorites are green, purple and blue in that order. While I liked the green as an accent color for the hooves, I wanted it to be more of a focal color. I think I might be leaning toward the purple one with the green mane, but making more contrast in the two mane colors like the blue-bodied one. What do you think? Also, which eye color is better, the more reddish color or the more yellowish color? I was also curious on what you thought about mane/tail style. I feel like the mane is similar to my hair without being too plain. The tail's pretty average, but I'm fine with that. Also, I don't really know how to go about choosing a cutie mark. I was actually considering leaving them a blank flank because in all honesty, I feel like that's what I'd be if humans had cutie marks. I've never gravitated too terribly strongly toward one thing or another. I do have hobbies but I really, really bounce back and forth between all of them. I was considering just making it a clover like Clover Heart's because I just really like clovers. However, clovers represent happiness and luck, neither of which I have, so I feel like that wouldn't be the best idea, either. Aside from all that, is there anything about this picture that does not work? I felt I did a fairly good job at it, personally. I realize that a lot of this is kinda personal, so I understand if anyone can't help me on some things (especially a cutie mark.) But I just thought I'd ask. Anyway, any help and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
  9. Because the 5 were all plus-ones for Twilight. The reason Twilight got two tickets originally was because Twilight was invited and she was given a plus-one. When she returned the tickets, she got 4 more plus-ones... Which makes it a plus-five, but I digress. Season 1 was the beginning of Twilight's time in Ponyville, the beginning of her friendships and the beginning of Princess Celestia getting to know them. So it makes sense why Twilight was the only one of them invited. It's probably standard policy to give everyone a plus-one to the Gala. However, by the time Make New Friends but Keep Discord came around, the mane 6 had had multiple interactions with the princess, multiple dealings in Canterlot and had basically saved the world on a regular basis. So this time, the mane 6 all got their own individual invites with their own plus-ones. In Best Night Ever, Twilight was the only one invited and everyone was Twilight's guest. In Keep Discord, everyone was invited separately with the option to invite their own guests.
  10. I should really read whether a topic is locked or not -before- I write a long-winded response... ._.

  11. Rarity. She's not my favorite (though not my least favorite either,) but her tail is definitely the prettiest. It has the most intricate and appealing shape, the color is beautiful and hers is the only tail that's colored in a gradient. Any way you slice it, Rarity's tail is best tail.
  12. I have a lot pickier preferences in guys than I do girls, but I answered long, blonde, straight hair. For me, the face matters the most. As long as it's nice, healthy hair, I'm not to picky about most of the other factors. Except length. I'd just like it to go past her chin at the least, but aside from that, any length is fine. I dunno if this was a typo or not, but I gotta say, it made me laugh from the ridiculousness XD
  13. Omg, actually, after posting this, I had the idea to call her Love Drops, too. Great minds, eh? Maybe I really should go with that, then. Thanks!
  14. I think reference images would be a good place to start. It can be hard to come up with a concept for a location on your own. So maybe if you look up images, even photographs, of places like that, you can kind of imagine how it would look. You could take elements you like and discard those you don't. You might even wanna copy some reference images. Not for use, just for practice. Get a feel for what something like what you want to create would be like. I also think that variety is key in making a background that doesn't look too plain. So to take your castle example, if the walls and floors are stone, then yes, the background would be primarily grey. However, you could change the floor to another material so you can give it some contrast. More importantly, though, think of what would be in the castle. Most likely windows, to which you could add some nature showing through. On the floor, there might be rugs. Think about the furniture. Thrones or other seating, tables, stands. Maybe think of adornments such as a chandelier or drapes or flowers. You'll have to think about the various items a castle might hold and then incorporate them into the background. And the same goes for any setting. In a forest, what would there be? Trees, of course, but also grass, flowers, mushrooms, branches, brambles, animals. Think about these types of things in order to make fuller backgrounds. Another key point is that you don't want the background to be too busy, unless there's a specific reason, like a dimensional slip or someone having a weird dream. This is a little harder to comment on what is too much. I guess if your characters look lost within the image, your background is probably overpowering. You still want your characters to be the main focus of the scene. So in addition to this, some simplification is probably also in order. Don't spend hours shading and defining the drapes when your characters are simple line drawings. I do wanna say that I'm not that great with backgrounds, either, so there are probably some things I'm leaving out. But those are some places to start: references, list necessary items, simplify. Hope this helps!
  15. It seems like most people, including people not on the forums, who I asked liked the first one. That makes sense, cuz that was the original one I made. So I suppose I'll go with that palette. As for a name, I still haven't decided. However, all your suggestions have given me a lot to consider which I hadn't previously. Thanks to everyone for all your help!
  16. He looks very stylish. This is just my opinion, but I think that the colors would go a little more nicely if the blue of his body color was more saturated. But that might just be me. Grain of salt. Either way, nice job!
  17. @@colt_following, I can play alto saxophone, but it's been a number of years since I played consistently. I'm also not so sure about time devotion. I have a hard enough time as it is working on all my own projects. Also, I live in an apartment and work days, which sorta cuts down on the amount of time I can actually play. Well, I know I'm probably not ideal, but if you're desperate for an alto sax player, I'd be willing to participate. Maybe we should try it out anyway and see if things would work out between us. I can also sing decently. I know that wasn't a listed part, but if you ever need a singer, I might be able to, if I'm up to snuff. I can also do art, if you need any art. Here are my Deviantart pages: http://bluerazzdesigns.deviantart.com/ http://zexonyte.deviantart.com/ I'm also on YouTube. Albeit not a very big channel. I'd be willing to do some cross-promotion: https://www.youtube.com/user/Zexonyte Let me know if you have anywhere you can/want to put me
  18. Can I just say that Flutterhugger totally sounds like some sort of minced oath? Also, great job. Very pretty
  19. Yeah, but I know they won't. They're somewhat famous-ish and I'm... not...
  20. While I think I might like to move to Southern California someday, I currently don't even live on the same continent. But that's no reason we can't be friends
  21. I don't especially like my name. I don't think it's a bad name. I just find it very unsuited to me. I feel like my name is one that has a very posh feel to it, whereas I just wanna hang out on the couch, play some video games and get Dorito crumbs all over myself. On top of that, my name is very specifically gendered, whereas I am agender. I feel like it's a constant obstacle for me. Would I change it, though, I'm a bit on the fence. I feel like it would really disappoint my parents to change my name. So that makes me disinclined to do so. On top of that, what I probably would change my name to isn't a recognized name, technically, so that probably comes with its own set of challenges and annoyances. I can't say I've never thought about it, though.
  22. I wanted to be a vet. But my parents were kinda all like "Well, you have to do math and science and you're not very good at either of those.*" So, I gave up on it. Then I wanted to be an artist, but I had an asshole art teacher who practically made me hate art, whereas before I loved it, and just when I was getting back into it, my art basically got torn to shreds by certain online communities. I'm just now, 7 years later, really getting back into my art. And now I'm a teacher, which is never something I ever wanted to do... Whoo hoo for low expectations and even lower goals... *Not verbatim.
  23. I'm close to Nagoya. It's 16° C and the sun's just coming up... And it's very bright... Aggggh.... my eyyyyyes... >.<
  24. Being agender, I've been told that my gender identity isn't real and that I suffer from "special snowflake syndrome." I'm sorry if I can't identify with any gender and that I just don't get gender identity first hand. Should I pretend like I do and make an idiot of myself? Cuz I've done that in the past. It's not fun. I'm a white American living in Japan. I really try to tread lightly when it comes to the words "racism" or "discrimination." Foreigners, particularly white foreigners over here almost seem to be chomping at the bit to have the opportunity to call someone out on their racism. I don't quite get it? I think it's a matter, possibly, of being in the majority and having to be conscious of what they say or do regarding other races. Then when the shoe's on the other foot, they're all too eager to play the victim. People call things racist without really understanding what it means. I got a little long with my explanation. If you want some cultural context, you can click here: So, I'm a bit skeptical of calling anything racist to begin with. However, I do have one experience that I have reason to suspect might have been racism. I used to send money orders to the States in order to pay for certain bills back over there. There are two post offices in my city, but for a while, only the one did money orders. Often when I'd go, I had this one guy who'd process my order. It seemed like no matter what I did, he found some way to nitpick the way I'd fill out the forms, and I'd have to do them over again nearly every single time. At least, every time I had him. When it was someone else, I rarely had this problem. And when I did have that problem, it was a clear mistake. But this guy would nitpick the littlest things. He would judge the way I'd write my letters, like I don't know my own fucking alphabet. I remember even this one time, I was writing something like an "R," but I started out writing it as an "A." I'd only written the left side of the letter, just the downward stroke, not even the other side or the horizontal line. So I started to turn it into an "R," but nope. He made me write my entire form all over again just because my "R" was slightly slanted. On top of that, he'd serve a bunch of people in front of me without processing my order. I used to think it was because it was busy. Having had other clerks assist me, though, and having a half hour to an hour extra time tacked onto my errand whenever I'd have this guy indicated to me that he just didn't wanna process my order. Now, as I said before, since I don't know his intent, none of this can necessarily be called racism. However, one time, I was fed up with him. I brought my partner with me because I was sick of dealing with bullshit and I was hoping that having him around could make things go faster. I asked the guy every single step of the way as I was writing what to write and how to write it so I wouldn't make any mistakes so he couldn't make me write it again. There's one part of the top of the form that calls for English block letters for name and address, but one part at the bottom that asks for it again. On the form, it said that it could be written in kanji, but I was in no mood to start over. On top of that, it's much faster to write my address in kanji than it is in English. Also, it takes up less space to write in kanji and the box is tiny. So I asked, him, "Can I write my address in kanji?" He said, "No, because you can't write kanji." Allow me to make a clarification. "Can" in English has two meanings: permission and ability. In Japanese, these are two completely different words, so there's no mistake that he told me that I lack the ability to write kanji. And though he didn't say the reason directly, it seems pretty clear why he said it. Luckily, as I said, my partner was there. He stood up for me, saying "She can so write kanji!" And the guy just kept trying to make excuses for why my kanji wasn't good enough until my partner basically out-argued him, and I got to write my address in kanji. It might seem like a small thing. However, I've spent years of my life learning Japanese. It's something I've put a lot of time, dedication and passion into. I learned Japanese just so I'd be able to communicate with people when I moved here. Because from the first time I visited Japan, I fell in love with the culture and the lifestyle and so many different aspects of it. I furthered my studies both on the language and the culture studying abroad here and subsequently moving here. I know I'm not fluent and there are a lot of things I don't know. But I genuinely try to and am eager to learn. If I wasn't, I wouldn't even be here. This is just such a huge part of who I am now. So to have someone so fervently declare that I had basically no knowledge of a language I had spent years learning and learning just because he has to have a fucking stick up his ass about the color of my skin was incredibly hurtful and disheartening. I wasn't aware that I could have done anything at the time. My impression was that Japanese people don't like to make waves, so I probably have no way to make a complaint about this kind of person. Again, keeping in mind, it wasn't just the kanji thing; it was a combination of many things. However, when I mentioned it a few years later to my partner, he said, yeah, you shoulda complained about it. I wasn't aware that I had any way to do that. At least now I know that if something like that happens in the future, I do have something I can do about it. Anyway, the other post office, which is much closer to my house anyway, started processing money orders and I was able to do it there from then on. Though I wish I'd complained, at least I never have to see that douche nozzle ever again. That was probably way too long O.o But I wanted to provide a lot of context for it. Because on paper, it does seem like a small thing. But from my point of view, it was, like I said, a very hurtful thing. I think that's my only account of anything close to racism here in Japan, though. Don't get me wrong, this is not most people. Most people I've met are very kind, especially in the service industry. It was just one asshole. And there will be assholes.
  25. Worked out 10 days in a row! :D
