  1. I wonder if you do the Old Testament too? I'm not personally interested in one right now, but it is quite interesting how most people think of the New Testament when they hear "the Bible".
  2. No offence to anyone, also because a number of people have used this spelling in the thread itself, but "grammer". Yes, it is fairly phonetic and follows the basic rules of English orthography, but the correct spelling is "grammar". This is not a debatable issue, as in "color" and "colour", the latter of which I personally prefer, but grammar is grammar is grammar, is not grammer.<br /><br />When someone makes a common typo, like if instead of of, I can understand because it's a short article (so checkers tend to skip over them subconsciously) and I and O are close together on a keyboard, both in Qwerty and Colemak, and I'll be damned if using your right ring finger to type an I without moving the right pinky for O isn't hard.<br /><br />I rarely have issues with people who start sentences with conjunctions, but please, for the love of a deity, use a comma! "And he went to the store." makes it seem like you ran out of breath. "And, he went to the store." Ah, so he did it as well?<br /><br />"But I didn't know!" You even sound whiny over the internet.<br />"But, I didn't know!" A fair rebut, if not quite powerless.<br /><br />I'll admit, I'm a grammar speckler to the point of compulsion (in that I once spent two hours fixing grammatical errors in someone's essay which they never asked me to do), but I never correct someone's statement without giving a rebut of some sort. So if they say "ur opinyun is rong", I'd reply: "What, in your view, is faulty with my own personal opinion, and how would you change it? Oh, and for the future, it's 'Your opinion is wrong'." EDIT: Oh yeah, and "alot" and "a tun".
  3. Here's a couple new ones: I can continue to listen to music or conversations and understand them while I am sleeping, and I sometimes respond to conversations without my body's "consent" - it just sorta slips out. Whenever a bad memory I regret comes up, I try and "shunt" it away with a super-noticable cringe. I have scars on my body that will never go away - one on the back of my head, and several in a stripe under my left rib - because of childlike accidents. That is, hitting my head on those playground zipline thingies, and falling off a bicycle. I can raise my right eyebrow without moving the other one. I am fluent in Hebrew, but I hate learning it so much. When I don't know a word in a foreign language, I will subconsciously replace it with a word from another foreign language. I can type 1.3 words a second, or about 80 a minute. The average person my age can type about 30 wpm. I am obsessed with typography, and can type in QWERTY, Colemak, and Steno (court reporting). I don't observe any "negative" Jewish traditions - that is, I don't keep Kosher, do work on Saturdays, eat bread during Passover, etc. It's part of my compromise for preserving my Jewish culture and heritage, without believing in God. I am so socially anxious that when I am eating and someone I am not totally familiar with wants to talk with me, I will wipe the corners of my mouth repeatedly trying to wipe off nonexistent food bits. I make up fairly simple, but knowledge-requiring, riddles that people who want to know certain pieces of generally-open information (actual first name, gender, etc.) have to solve. When I was little, I was afraid of asking for things directly, so I'd spell things out in the air with my fingers or use periodic symbols. I'm still not sure why I did this. Randomly, for anywhere from one word to a full sentence, I will adopt a quite heavy Québecois accent. It's not out-of-the-blue, as my parents are both from Montréal and have accents themselves, but it always shocks my friends when I say "Hah-nah Mon-tah-nah" as opposed to the (overly-exaggerated to show difference) "Hya-neh Mon-tye-na" of their Torontonian accents, which I do pick up on.
  4. I think you've already gotten your explanation, but to compress it into one page, early bronies often said they watched the show for the "plot", or storylines, which is an honest and innocent answer - I mean hey, it must have good storytelling to keep us coming back! But of course, the R34 community noticed all of the buttshots, and said "Heh, heh, I watch it for the butt, but others say plot. Plot is now a euphemism for butt."
  5. I voted... ... ... WHERE'S LYRA!? Her entire LIFE is chillin' like a villain! I expected more from you, Tails! P.S. Check your Skype. This is totally not a mysterious-phone-call.
  6. NAME OF PONY: Bon Mot AGE OF PONY: 16 in human years DETAILED APPEARANCE DESCRIPTION: Duke blue coat, brown eyes, mane and tail - latter two have bright blue stripes; (Don't worry about the Cutie Mark - he never exposes it); wears tall top hat and monocle, as well as s suit, usually a 20's-esque blue satin or something of the like. A BIT OF YOUR PONY'S PERSONALITY: HUGE infomaniac, so maybe him facehoofing at somepony's ignorance (he does this approximately twenty times an hour) or frantically (pinprick eyes and everything) explaining something to someone else with hoof gestures. REFERENCE (Not optional, please) ANYTHING ELSE YOU WANT, M'DEAR?: His only interaction with other ponies tends to be attempting to teach them incredibly complex subjects - otherwise he tends to sit in the corner and sing to himself. Oh, and give him a decent suit, will you?
  7. Oops, sorry. I'm -5 EST, and I'm available usually 6:00-10:00 PM on weekdays, and pretty much free on most weekends. I'm still interested!
  8. Oh man! I love my GC! I sold a ton of my old games to get my PS3, but right now, off the top of my head, I can remember: Namcomuseum Pikmin 1 & 2 Super Mario Sunshine Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Ribbit King (screw you, that was a good game) I'm sure I'll remember more as the day goes on.

This sounds like fun! Can I please get a simple-style picture of https://dl.dropbox.com/u/67639714/MapleBlossom%20copy.png as a filly (artistic freedom there), drinking a bottle of maple syrup, as adorably as possible? Thanks!
  10. I sniff chicken brouillon paste. It's good! I'm a chain chewer of stick gum. I'll keep one piece in my mouth for five hours, just to get that chewing! I'm sure there are more, but my body and mind are so accustomed to my weirdness I don't even thing they're extraordinary. EDIT: Oh yeah! I also collect Build-a-Bears and Webkinz - I have at least 30 of each.
  11. Ohmygod I love this show! I only started watching a few years ago, but he's so much fun, and I love these kinds of mysteries! Never forget: SURPRISE MOTHERBUCKA'!
  12. My hobby: convincing people I am actually older than they are, and a different gender than they expect; I just have a congenital pituitary disorder.

My mom says I just have a sore throat. But according to me, I have throat cancer.

I have OCD, HOCD, and Asperger's! I also have Tourette's because I swear a lot and my eye goes twitcha-twitch.

  13. Clearly you heathens have not allowed Her Mintiness Lyra Heartstrings, goddess of the unsung and of refreshing flavours, into your hearts! Her Mintiness has herself chosen herself a prophet, Lord Tails Tino, to proclaim her glory on this forum, and soon shall he come to smite all other false gods!
  14. I don't feel like they have any issue with simple physics; I think they realize magic just defies it. As for pegasi, flight is a simple concept of aerodynamics, which has nothing to do with gravity.
  15. 1. What grade did you learn to type in? And have you ever used an ordinary typewriter, whether it was electric or manual? I learned to type "properly" in fourth grade, but I'm much faster using all hands, but my hands float around the keyboard. I've used both an electric and a 60's Underwood typewriter - loved 'em! 2. What was your first home video game system and what year did you get it? For my fifth birthday, my parents got me a GameCube and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. I cannot begin to describe the fun I had (and still have!) with that amazing machine. One of the best Nintendo machines out there, if you asked me. 3. What is the oldest car, make and model year, you can remember your family owning? When my brother and I were born and our house was the stereotypical black-n-white linoleum kind of place, we had a stereotypical silver Dodge minivan. No idea where it's from or what year. 4. Did you ever have first generation My Little Ponies or Transformers? If so, when did you get them? My brother and I each got pre-gen ponies in some Happy Meal or something, but I'm not sure if they're G1 or G2. Anyways, they're long since gone, but we remember them fondly. Back then, we didn't give a flying feather about gender stereotypes. Also, I had a couple crappy McDonalds Transformers as a kid, that only had like 3 moves to change. 5. Who was the earliest president, prime minister, governor, head honcho, etc. of your country that you have a first hand memory of? Just Stephen Harper, really. I either didn't know or care before that. 6. Do you recall smoking being allowed in workplaces where you live? US members under 20 will generally say no but answers from other countries may vary. There was a smoking room in a library I frequented as a kid, but that's long since been shut down. 7. Did you ever use old-style roller skates instead of roller blades? Only three-wheelers when I was very, very little. In retrospect, rollerskates might be more stable and fun for a weak-ankled person such as myself. 8. Did you ever use a pre-Windows PC? I used a Mac II once this year, if that counts. 9. Remember “Be kind, please rewind”? Only thanks to my wrinkly fruitcake teachers and librarians. 10. Name the first big blockbuster movie you recall watching in a theater that wasn't a re-release. My memory is much different from facts, so I'm just going to play it safe by saying AVATAR.
  16. My first name is quite common and only has one spelling, but NO-ONE can ever seem to get my last name right! It's a far more common first name than my actual one, so I tend to be called [last name] [first name], or [first name] [last name]s, because my last name is more common with that S than without it. However, I'm quite proud of my name, difficult thought it is, because of the interesting story behind it. I'll PM anyone interested if you do so first.
  17. Hitpael, Zivui, and Zivui Hitpael have ruined my life. I swear to DWEIQ, everyone in my class was so confused by it, I managed to convince half of them "Lehishtael" ("To cough") meant "to become a fox" (Because "Shael" is a fox).

And my teacher tells me all these Yotze'ei Dofen are because it's easier to say when you're whispering? Why the FUCK would you get into the finer points of grammar when you're hiding from the Gestapo!?

  18. T'was in sixth grade, and from that point until eighth grade, art is a mandatory, graded subject that you have once a week (instead of thrice a year for special little holiday trinkets). I HATE HATE HATE(D) art, so I was a constant ass to the teacher, and at one point refused to work at all. I got a C+ (66-69). Note that in my school's report cards, you are given a letter grade based on your position on several rubrics of four (participation, behaviour, etc.), and I got 1.5 on Participation. Nowadays I've come to like art a lot more, and I've managed to slowly bump that mark up to a B+. I'm really praying for an A this year, so I'll finally have a true straight-A (A- inclusive) report card. That is, if I can stop being a twig and get a bloody A in the easiest gym class ever. Just sports, no real exercise. Closest I've ever gotten since was a 6/15 on a mini-exam in Science. I knew what I was talking about, but as anyone who's ever had a South African teacher before, they're TOUGH. I mean, she dropped off a full mark because I didn't implicitly state that solid state molecules vibrate, even though I said ALL molecules move in some manner. I don't feel too bad though - my average for that class is still 83 or so, and a lot of people got 3/15 - one even got 1. Otherwise, my average in most other classes ranges from 93-107%. Yes, that is possible.
  19. Probably the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to me is when I accidentally crushed my gut, and the day after, at exactly 9:20 A.M. for the next two days, I would feel like I was having a heart attack, and later the pain would move down to my waist and come by in unbearable waves. I would often vomit this foul-tasting bile for a bit, too. On the second day, it became more like appendicitis, so I went to the hospital for a full 8 hours. Luckily, it was nothing, but the car ride there was one of the most excruciating, terrifying moments in my life.
  20. The website said 30 500, and that's including educated guesses (when I've heard a word before, and I have an idea what it means by faint memory, context, or etymology, for example, assuming "duplicitous" means "being a copy of something else"). As proud as I am of my ever-expanding vocabulary, I often have to make compromises between prose and readability, as @silvadel said. But, I sparingly go on for a paragraph which is just full of my most precocious synonyms, but I often backtrack and explain it later.
  21. Sims 2 or Sims 3? Either way, I can help branch off the family if you'd like. Then, we could make a collaborative family tree.
  22. Hi there! I don't have much time, so I'm going to make this a bit of a WIP, but on this thread, I will post my own, handmade translations of your show's favourite songs! They will include Hebrew and French translations. Here's what I have for What My Cutie Mark is Telling Me so far: PINKIE Je n'aime pas la cueillette des fruit La travaille ne jamais pas finit Et meme avec l'effort, ce chute d'eau ne veux ou peux pas etre construit Il y a si beaucoup du travaille, mes muscles sont comme des corrois Mais c'est mon destin - je n'ai pas un choix Parce-que c'est quoi ma marque de cutie dit a moi AJ Regardez a quoi je fait, je pense qu'elle est un robe Je sais qu'elle n'est magnifique pas, sur la corps, rien qu'elle englobe Je besoin un main de l'assistance, aidez-moi avec c'engobe! 23. Oh, thank goodness. Now I feel relieved of that burden... No, no, just keep looking forward. Not like there's anyone behind you or anything. And that's just the wind, not someone breathing.
  24. Erm... the latest one. I only made it in November or so. I'm sorry, I'm really not clued into this. I have six-sided dice and that's all. Eep!
  25. I'm totally in. I already have a character sheet for a beginning character together, and I have a Skype account all put together. I'm not particularly skilled, but I memorized a lot of the beginning wizard's spells and I've played a couple sessions with another brony DM.
