Hello Pokem fans! As you may or may not know, the offical 'Pokemon' webiste announced on May 7th, 2014 that the original games Pokemon Ruby Pokemon Sapphire will indeed have re-makes.

The re-makes are titled: Pokemon Omega Ruby Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.

The games are confirmed to be released world-wide on November 21st, 2014. (NOW OUT AND READY TO BE PURCHASED).

Now, I know that we still have awhile longer to wait, but I, like most Pokemon fans, am hyped for these games to come out!

Fans have been speculating for a long time that these re-makes would be made, and now they are.

So, I figured I would start a thread to discuss the upcoming games.

* I pre-ordered Pokemon Omega Ruby .

* I chose Mudkip as my starter.  :proud:

I chose to Pre-Order Alpha Sapphire because one of my best homies is really into Pokemon and got me back into it on a whim.

This is actually a pretty big deal for me because the last Pokemon game I played... was the original Sapphire. So now I'm coming back into the series with the remake.

Awesomely enough, I too will be choosing Mudkip as my starter because he was my starter back when I played the original Sapphire and it would feel wrong to chose a different starter when Mudkip helped me out so much back in the day.

Given my money situation I may not be able pre-order but hot diggity do I want to. I absolutely loved Ruby and Sapphire, I had Ruby before so I want to get Omega Ruby this time. It's strange how in pretty much all Pokemon games, I pick the fire starter but I picked, I believe his name is Treecko in Ruby, the grass starter. MEMORIES! Plus, X kinda disappointed me honestly. This, will make up for that entirely.

Omega Ruby and the 3DS Smash Bros. Are two of my most anticipated games for this year. :3

I've pre-ordered Omega Ruby since A) I owned Ruby in the past and B) There are more version exclusives that I prefer. I'm going to choose Mudkip as my starter, which is the Hoenn starter I pick the least.

Ruby and Sapphire may not be my most favourite Pokémon games, but I do find them great games that deserve remakes. I'm actually more interested in new Mega Pokémon, however. Ever since Mega Audino was announced, I kept my eyes out for Mega Evolutions for Unova Pokémon, or more specifically, Mienshao. I really want a Mega Mienshao... xP

On a related note, what Mega Pokémon do you want to see? I want to see Mega Flygon. That new Secret Base guy has a Flygon as his signature Pokémon, it's stats are above average and it's a fan favourite. According to a review, Mega Pokémon are chosen depending on how well-loved they are, and Flygon is a well-loved Pokémon wordwide.

I'm really glad that the wait for ORAS is shorter than XY. I'd hate to wait for a new Pokémon game for ten months... x_x

I preferred Ruby as when the first came out (I actually own and played through both), but because I got Pokemon X with the blue special edition 3DS XL, I preordered Omega Sapphire. I am going to have Torchic as my starter, it's actually my favorite among the fire starters of the series (Blaziken is a bada**).  I know it has a Mega Evolution, but personally I don't see the point in it...I have yet to use a Mega Evolution in battle outside of when the games want you to. Of course, I grind away so much that it's really unnecessary for me (monotony is bliss(y))...bad Pokemon  pun is bad....

I don't think I'll get SSB for the 3DS though....I really love Melee, but I rarely play it now because I moved away from all my friends, and I know having an internet connection will be a must to fully enjoy that game, but I rarely get access to internet (we don't have it at home). That's why I felt a little left out with all the awesome stuff X/Y has that you can only do via internet (or having a friend also have the game, of which I am the only Pokemon gamer among them all).

On a side note, I am actually wondering why they haven't updated and rereleased Yellow version....That is my favorite game in the whole series (with Crystal barely trailing behind)...Also I am not looking forward to the rerelease of Diamond/Pearl....I believe that set to be the weakest in the series....don't know why, I even had a hard time remembering the game names it's so unmemorable (I remembered Platinuim)....

If you don't mind me asking, why did Pokemon X dissapoint you?

(I'm not trying to start a debate or anything, i'm honestly just curious).

I didn't get into the franchise until Pokemon Fire Red Pokemon Leaf Green came out. (I think I was 9 at the time).

So, I never played Pokemon Crystal, Pokemon Yellow, etc.

I would LOVE to play re-makes of those games, though.

In Yellow, Pikachu followed you everywhere :wub::yay:

In Crystal, which is the best of Gold/Silver combined, you go to both Kanto and Johto! I think Gold/Silver/Crystal was the best thus far. And honestly, they could have done better with Heart Gold and Soul Silver....Of course, I'm a nitpicker >_>....Maybe I am just not very keen on remakes at all...I do prefer the original Gold/Silver to Heart Gold/Soul Silver as well as Blue/Red....I hope it won't be the same for Ruby/Sapphire....

Getting a Gameboy color, Crystal and Yellow will probably equal around the price for a new game today, They aren't too hard to find (with a good internal battery on the other hand will take some expertise).

I pre-ordered Alpha Sapphire, since Sapphire was the version I played as a kid. I'll probably pick Treecko as my starter, since that was my first gen 3 starter ever.

Anyways, I'm seriously excited for these games to come out. I can't wait to relive my childhood in glorious 3D.

I'm getting either OR or AS on release day. I'm not sure which one yet (still deciding). I don't know who my starter will be since, you know, I want to make it a surprise. I'm liking the overworld appearance so far in this game (such as animated waterfalls, and a whole bunch of things). I can't wait for the 21st of November!

After I beat Pokemon Omega Ruby, i'm going to go back and get Pokemon Alpha Saphhire.

I picked a good time to get back  into Pokemon. Recently got a 3DS along with Pokemon X :D (Also Mario 3D and Zelda Link Between Worlds)

I'll probably get Omega Ruby, since when I had a Gameboy Advance I got Sapphire. I won't pre-order it, I'll just pick it up on a whim. But I'll definitely have a blast with it.

I never grew up with Pokemon as a kid(I was 9 when Pokemon GS came out, but my parents couldn't afford video games. :( ) But my first game was the 3rd gen games, so it'll be great to actually finish them. I've only completed HGSS and DPPl.

I'll probably pick Mudkip because it's Mudkip and it's the starter I picked when I played Sapphire.

I pre-ordered Alpha Sapphire, as that is the one I had when I was little. My sister is getting Omega Ruby. My starter is going to be treecko.

I was planning on getting an audino, which I love. But there's been so many great megas, I'm starting to wonder if I should get another Pokémon! except for Gallade. Come on. Inner focus, really?

I may not be able to play this game due to budgets, but if I do, I'm going to pick up Alpha Sapphire, since I like Kyogre more. I'm picking Torchic as starter, but since the other starters are going to get their own Mega Evolution, I'll see how it goes.

I just hope that I can use Slaking again :D He's the most insane sweeper ever. Period.

I'm definitely going to get Alpha Sapphire and because I owned my Sapphire version for over 10 years and I want to get the remake for that. I also like Kyogre more. I don't know what my starter Pokémon will be because I like all 3 of them. I won't rush through the game like I normally do. Instead I'll keep rotating out Pokémon before the Elite Four.

Ha, I'm gonna have to put off getting this since Persona Q comes out around the same time, and I love Persona leagues more than Pokemon. Still, if I don't completely forget about it, I'll get Ruby some time afterwards... maybe. I don't know, lately I just haven't been that into the games, mostly because there's not really anyone to play against. The solo aspect of those games is not nearly that entertaining, honestly.

I'll guess I'll see what happens when the time comes.

I am preordering Omega Ruby and i'm going with Treeko as my starter instead of Torchic from my Emerald, mostly because I already HAVE a Torchic from the event and a Blazikin, and besides, I just finished PMD2 again and I want to hug a Grovyle.

I'm probably going to get a Gallade this time around instead of a Gardevoir.

As a huge Pokémon fan, I am indeed very excited for OR/AS. However, I don't think I'll be getting a version right away... sure, it's a remake and there will be all new Mega Evolutions, but there are only a few games I'm capable of getting atm, but it's just a bit lower on my priority list atm honestly... I will be getting most likely Omega Ruby sometime eventually though. ;)

Wait PQ is going to be released too?! *fangasm intensifies

So many choices, so little money.

Also, Mega Metagross/Salamence/Sharpedo/Camerupt FTW
