You'd think that as an oboist (and a woodwind/brass musician of nearly 20 years) I'd be pretty good at this, but... I don't know. I don't feel like testing it in general. When I play, it's just something I do, but I don't want to do it independently.

I will say as an oboist, the challenge is actually less holding my breath and more not being able to exhale. That was a big thing when I was learning to control the instrument.

Not sure on time but i can swim underwater for 2 and a half laps of an Olympic sized pool

Under water, I think I have managed around 120 seconds, but that is being extremely still. If I move or swim, it is much much shorter than that, maybe in the 45 seconds range.
