My first OC was such a Mary Sue! She was a pegasus who had the ability to open time and space portals. I completely scrapped her and have no regrets.

Back in the summer of 2013, I created my first vector of a pony in Inkscape using a tutorial I found on deviantART. I gave her a purple and blue mane, a tan-colored coat, a horn, and a cutie mark resembling a roadway. Using my poor naming skills, I named my OC "Smooth Pavement", and made her the head of a civil engineering company. Gah.

 

Needless to say, she doesn't exist anymore.

 

My oldest surviving OC is an earth pony mare by the name of "Radio Wave". I first created her back in August 2013, and has survived to the present day barring some minor mane changes.

Silhouette Dusk. I remember when I Created her back in the spring of 2012. I was still trepidatiously investigating this whole Brony thing and the show in general, worried about disappointment. But the shows design aesthetics appealed to me. There had to be a create a character feature dedicated to this. And luckily I was right. So this is what I came up with on first go. And this was before I had any idea what an alicorn was. 
 
Her design & backstory have gone through some slight variations, but she's pretty much the same old character I so affectionately created all those years ago.

If you don't know what it is:

• A Pegasus
• Red coat
• Red and yellow mane and tail, taking Vinyl Scratch's manestyle and a non-rainbow version of Rainbow Dash's tail
• Red eyes
• A yellow five-point star for a cutie mark

 

I don't think it was an OC at all, more like a personification of Vietnam... although I went way far than that. Three points here:

• He could live for way longer than a normal pony. (Not really, what I did also made other ponies REALLY OLD in human lifespans)
• He can fly faster than the speed of light. (Taking logic into account, he'd theoretically be invisible if he went faster)
• He had a female muzzle (By when I made this, I had no idea that stallions had completely different muzzles)

O dear god.
Ok my very VERY first Oc was a character called ToothRaven who was a mary sue. though some of that was misreading rp turns. They were a wolf made out of tooth paste! which lead to my old username ToothPasteWolf. She had massive healing powers, red eyes, turned red and black though he was normally white and sea green.. at some point some how had a red and black brother. Shes gone now but i still have her children ;3

My first OC was named Double Flame. He is a blue Pegasus with a red mane and fire as a cutie mark. He was pretty cringy when I first made him back in 2012. I remember he was the best flyer in all of Equestria and was super kind and fun. I still have him but he has changed a bit. For one I took away the whole "best flyer in all of equestria" thing and I actually gave him some character flaws to even him out. Since creating him I have made a lot more and I definitely like my newer ones better.

Hoo boy, this'll be long so I think I'll relegate it to spoilers...

My first ever non-MLP OC:

I still have her actually, she's based off of the Kinnikuman series.  The manga is a good read and I highly recommend it if you like wrestling!!!  Anyways, at first she was going to be just a Choujin but I figured I should just make my own species up.  I absolutely love her and I'm trying to not make her overly Mary-sue but I think that's out the window since she just obtained demi-godhood after defeating the All-Mother in my hc that's based off of the newest arcs out of the Kinnikuman manga(The scanlations are available on MangaDex, check it out!!!).  I've never drawn her since I'm awful at drawing women, especially muscular women like her(she isn't overly muscular but she looks way better than some of the female Choujin we've seen throughout the manga series) but one of these days I'll get around to it.  I created her back when I was watching the Ultimate Muscle series on 4Kids(which was a terrible dub) but I shipped her with Buffaloman for a while so I had to tie her in with the original series.

Her species were created around the same time the Choujin species were created, millions of years ago, but the Goddesses who created the Ozairi people never wanted to kill off the race and begin anew, like what the Choujin Gods did.  I kinda wanted to do a gender balance with the Ozairi and twist it around, making them a matriarchy however family matters were mostly dealt with by the men of the species.  They're a bi-normative species and it isn't rare for women to have multiple husbands, it's actually considered odd for women to only have one.  The husbands would normally regulate themselves, who has breeding rights one particular season, how to deal with children, etc.  There are more men than women on this planet, which is another reason why women have multiple husbands.  Also, they're a longer lived species, one Ozairi year equals to about 15 regular human years, so in a way an Ozairi can be both younger and older than you depending on which year system you follow.  Since the Ozairi Goddesses never killed off the species, the Ozairi are millions of years ahead of the Choujin species, they already had streamlined space travel by the time the series started and my OC had a way to contact her family with a similar device to a modern cellphone even though her planet is on the other side of the galaxy.  The Ozairi are also stronger than the Choujins, they're initially a warrior race too and they've been selectively breeding throughout the years.  Though the only downside is that the Ozairi are infertile with anyone but their own species, no one knows why.  Instead of wrestling like the Choujin do, the Ozairi fight more MMA-style but on a huge stone slab like in Dragonball.

Most of the men grow horns, they can look like a variety of different types of horns and none of the Ozairi have pupils.  They can see but they kinda have a blank eye that can come in either green, grey, black or purple(It works with the style some canon characters look).  Sometimes some men will grow three horns or none at all.  Ozairi have large families, my OC has about 24 other siblings, which is common for their species.  The Ozairi and the Choujin from Muscle planet have been at war with each other for a long time, women simply hate the men from that planet because they have a powerful, gross smell that offends them, Ozairi women have a strong sense of smell(there are other reasons why they hate the Muscle planet residents, mostly over land rights).  If anyone wants to ask about the species, I'm open to it!!!

Name: Maraksus Dagrina, sometimes called Mara by friends

Age: 285/19, when the series starts

Classification: Ozairi and Akuma Choujin

Height: 9'8"

Appearance: Long black hair braided into one big braid, will sometimes have it in a bun.  Purple eyes and two lines that go down her face, similar to Buffaloman.  Muscular but not overboard, with scars all over her body.  Her face has a slight angular look to it but soft at the same time, she looks like someone who's seen a lot.  Her eyebrows are circles, she has mildly full lips with a prominent cupid's bow.  Likes to wear a long, dark coat and some form-fitting pants, always has cats on her shirt since she likes them.

Personality: Absolutely no-nonsense but knows when to be compassionate to others, she's open and honest with people.  Flirtatious, professional when she needs to be.

Back story: She was blamed for the suicide of one of her sisters and her eldest uncle who was in charge of the family at the time banished her when she was 14 Ozairi years old.  She spent a long time wandering from place to place mostly as a mercenary.  She met Buffaloman at some point when she was doing a job for someone as he was in the search to gain more power as a fighter.  Eventually, that led to him selling his soul to the devil for more power and joined the Akuma Choujin, she of course joined him.  She got along with most of the other Akuma Choujin, even earning the respect of the Akuma Shogun himself they have a bit of a friendship between them but Mara treats this group like she would any mercenary group she ran with professional but a little friendly at the same time.  She really doesn't like The Ninja, mostly because she thinks he's spineless, her opinion might be wrong but that's her opinion.

Likes:  Video games, being intimate, training, cooking, wolves, cats

Dislikes: Justice Choujin(though that changes to a mild dislike by the end of the scramble for the throne arc), The Ninja, shyness, weakness

 

My first(and current) MLP OC:

Originally, their name was Enola and they were a mare but I changed him to Sage and now he's a stallion(I like the way the stallions look more than most mares).  They still look relatively the same, his mane and fur is the same as before.  He's originally from a town around Neighagra Falls.  He's an Earth pony and loves gardening.  I'm still not sure about his mane but I've been trying to practice when I can.  He got his cutiemark by hearing the phrase "Society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.", he was really inspired by the phrase and went out to plant a ton of trees and gained his Cutiemark from deciding that he wanted to be someone else's shade.

I came up with him on the forum for a webcomic called Gaming Guardians, back in... 2002-ish? Eventually I started using him on a roleplaying board called the Napping Cat's Dream.

He was a bitter one, pretty much a reflection of how I felt back then. In hindsight, he seemed... kind of stereotypically edgy, really, kind of unsurprising for my age at the time.
