Don't see either going well.

It was a genuine attempt to help while not being a dick to the best of my knowledge and ability. If people think I failed at either or both, then I apologise.

The world record for drinking a yard of ale is 5 seconds!

How do you measure liquid in a measurement used for distance?

Yard of ale.

Many pubs/bars have one hanging up somewhere.

I've seen someone do a 'yard' of Guinness; it took 20 minutes to settle... and about 2 minutes to drink. A decent effort as the guy had about 8 pints of the stuff in him already and was standing on the bucket we had used to make the punch we drank at the BBQ.

To be pedandic, you can measure something in any dimentionally inconsistent manner, so long as the other dimensions are contextually obvious or previously stated ('weight' being a common one).

Eg. If the 'standard' cross sectional area of a volume is fixed, then you can refer to the total volume in terms of it's length/height.

Tachyons are a theoretical type of particle that is constantly traveling faster than the speed of light. This makes their existence very hard to prove. (It's not that things cannot *travel* at the speed of light, only that things cannot *accelerate* {or decellerate} to the speed of light.)

All snails have both reproductive organs. If they don't have a mate, they can fertilize their own eggs.

There you go, something you didn't want to know.

The main reason why aircraft are not permitted to fly near volcanoes is because if engines inhale ash, combustion cycles melt the particulate and coat the interior of the engine in a gooey carbon-based glass, which can clog part movement and, if it freezes, cause serious mechanical damage. This was discovered for the first time in 1982 when a jumbo jet flew through an ash cloud at night, and seriously damaged all four of its engines as a result-- as well as sandblasting the pilot's windscreen, making it impossible to see outside.

The original Xbox was so called because original prototype was basically a cut-down Dell PC with a custom version of Windows and called the "DirectX box". The name "Xbox" was also thought that consumers wouldn't like the name, but they were wrong.

There's a mostly a capella metal band called Van Canto. I called them a 'mostly a capella' band because they have a drummer. I think they had a few people that tried to do the drums a capella style, but they were too worn out after just a few songs. Here's one of Van Canto's songs, a cover of Sabaton's Primo Victoria featuring Sabaton's lead singer, Joakim Brodén
