William Shatner As A Guest Voice: Who Should He Portray?

According to a tweet posted on Equestria Daily Jim Miller invited William Shatner to be a guest voice on Friendship is Magic.

From what I heard William Shatner is a big star in the Star Trek franchise even bigger than John De Lancie. So if you bring those together.... the results could be immense. Perhaps he could be Starswirled the Bearded? I don't know maybe they're getting him ready for a movie?

Shatner played Captain Kirk in the original Star Trek. This was before "Q" in Star Trek The Next Generation, who was played by John De Lancie. So, the two never crossed paths in the show itself, as they were different Star Trek Series. Now, if Patrick Stewart were to appear in MLP, then there could be something to work on.

Based on his twitter, he seems to be a fan of the show in some way or another.  I don't care who he plays, but he has to become fast friends with Discord.  Trekkies' heads will explode.

Shatner: Leader of a shakesperian acting troupe

Story: A travelling shakesperian troupe comes to ponyville to put on the show. Members of ponyville come for the entertainment, only to be surprised that Trixie is one of the actressess. The townsfolk grow angry and restless, refusing to stay for a show with "that troublemaker" in it. Trixie is devastated, as she has worked immensely hard to change herself and prove to her boss that she is a good member of the troupe. She turns to Twilight Sparkle for help in convincing the townsfolk that Trixie is indeed reformed. The final result is a play involving the main 6 (and Shatner) and Trixie playing the "villan". Trixie is afraid that playing this role will only worsen her standing with the citizens of ponyville, and indeed the citizens boo her character. However, at the end of the play, the audience applauds all members, including trixie. Shatner is incredibly happy with the successful performance, saying trixie plays the villan part remakably well. Twillight Sparkle reminds trixie that though she may play a bombastic villian, she doesnt have to be one to gain the love and respect of her peers.

 

Not sure how well thought out this plot is, but I can't help but imagine shatner and trixie in the same episode. SO MUCH HAM!
