I wanted to do a quick poll just to gage how many people's opinions have changed, however small or not at all. Please pick the corresponding answer, and don't criss-cross so I can get the most accurate result.

Personally, I think I like her a bit more after the premiere, but she is not set in stone quite yet for me as a character I particularly like.

Disliked her before, dislike her now.

I liked her during the premier of S5. After that, she turned into a generic Revenge hungry maniac. Now she's a generic Moe "I'm So sad and sorry!" character.
She was crap in the S5 finale, she's crap now. Just turning on the sadness and expecting people to feel "sowwy" for a character won't work without real emotional investment :P

Ironically, I felt FAR worse for sunburst than her.

Always liked the character, and I am looking forward to seeing how she will evolve. Can they mess it up? Sure. Right now she has a high ceiling as far as I'm concerned.

Okay this is weird for me, so I yo-yo'ed in my opinions about her. Let me begin: In the Season 5 premier I didn't care for her at all, then came the Season 5 finale and I loathed her, Now we come back to the season 6 premier and while my hatred is lessen I still don't give a flying fuck about Starlight. So I guess I still dislike her since I've never liked her.

Wow! I've just even out the "Opinion hasn't changed" poll choices! I've always enjoyed watching Starlight before and after the heel-face turn!

Nope still a shitty character which still doesn't really have a place in the setting. Honestly she needs an episode that let's her stand on her own because besides that montage not being retconned which was retarded there conflict in the premiere didn't really match up with her character. So no still a bad Oc to me.

I was neutral at the end of season 5 because I didn't know what they were going to do with her. Now though, I kind of like her a fair bit and I hope she'll be sticking around.

Always loved the character and was really excited when she was reformed with the potential of becoming one of the main characters for season 6. The premiere was just as I imagined with her character and I look forward to more.

Always quite liked Starlight Glimmer, even though her backstory, as revealed in the S5 finale seemed a bit underwhelming. Now that we have met Sunburst, though, I found her despair over him a little more believable. Her tears after revealing her behavior to Sunburst were really convincing - a good moment I thought! I also like that she still has a bit of a manipulative side to her when she got Spike to tell the Crystal Ponies his stories in order to waste time. I hope she gets more episodes this season, but I definitely don't want her to take much needed screen time from the Mane 5. "No Second Prances" sounds like it could be a Starlight episode based on the title.

Liked her before, loved her after The Cutie Re-Mark, love her now. She's quickly rising up in my favorite character list. <3

She was a pretty good villain, but her character plummeted below the abyss after the S5 finale with major contribution from her horrible redemption. Because of that, she felt of of place in the S6 premiere, not that anything in the episodes fix the problems associated with her anyways.

At least she reconnected with Sunburst. For whatever reason though, neither one of them attempted to reconnect before their most recent encounter. Better late than never, I suppose.

Disliked her back then, like her now. This is probably the third or fourth time this show makes me take a 180 degree turn from "I don't like this character" to liking them. :P I look forward to seeing more of her in the future~

Depends on how we look at it. In one sense, I "disliked" her before. But she was a villain so I guess that I was supposed to.

As a villain, however I thought that she was one of the better ones (And no. This doesn't contradict that I just said I disliked her). She was easily the most creepy villain thus far, and motivated by ideology rather than just "muahaha, I'm evil and want power!". And she used much more insidious methods rather than raw power to get her way. Like brainwashing.

Her freudian excuse may have seemed rather petty from an objective standpoint (Not just "seemed". It outright was). But it was very believable from a psychological point of view. I can easily see somepony getting psychologically scarred from suddenly losing their only friend. Starting a cult, brainwashing ponies and almost destroying Equestria seems like somewhat of an overreaction from a logical point of view, but psychology doesn't conform to logic.

I still like her better now, though. But it remains to be seen if I will continue to like her.

I liked her before the season 6 premiere, because I thought that she was a great villain, and after she was reformed, I was very optimistic about where they would taker her character.

And I like her after the season 6 premiere, because, in my opinion, they did an excellent job with her character in that episode. I liked that, despite being reformed, you could tell it was the same character, in my opinion, because she still had some of the same personality traits, such as some slight anger problems (ex. When Spike suggests he helps with the lesson so that it can still happen despite Twilight being busy, and Twilight calls him a genius. To which Starlight replies, "Oh yeah, a genius." *makes angry look toward Spike*) and being manipulative (ex. Manipulating Spike into stalling her lesson by convincing him to tell the story of him saving the Crystal Empire.) Speaking of Spike, she also had very good chemistry with him in the premiere. To me, it felt very natural, and I hope we get to see them interact again.

But yeah, overall, I liked her before, and I like her now.

In the S5 premiere she turned to to be "not so cookie cutter" villain as Psychopathrik said, utilizing psychology as a means on control over the other ponies. Then in the S5 Finally, she showed that she was smart and knew how how to destroy Twilight's friendships before they began. I liked Starlight as an Antagonist, her back story was rushed and they should have put more heart in to it. But maybe more will be explained further though out S6? So far I still like Starlight, probably better as a Protagonist than a villian.

Before the season 5 premiere I was looking forward to seeing Starlight Glimmer, because she had a lot of potential.

But I feel that she didn't fully live up to it in The Cutie Map.

I waited all season wanting to see her get some more character development until we got to the finale.

I ended up liking her a bit more during The Cutie Remark, until she got the worst villain reformation in the show.

Lastly, after watching the premiere I am back to kinda liking her.

So my feelings about Starlight Glimmer have changed a lot.

I liked her as a villain, especially in 'the Cutie Map' in which she wasn't 'evil' per se, and her villainy was of a more understated and insidious nature.

I liked her in 'the Cutie Remarking' as well, even though she did revert to the more stereotypical 'supervillain' role, it was good to see Twilight one again encountering a foe that she was unable to defeat through main force of arms.

Now however, Starlight is in the extremely precarious position of being the new character suddenly thrust into an established ensemble cast, and that very rarely works out well.  I really hope they push her more into the background as the season continues but it does look worryingly like they have basically turned her into a carbon copy of Sunset Shimmer, but without the vacant spot for her to occupy.

Didn't like her before, cuz she was a convincing villian. Don't like her now because it's out of place for her to be jammed into the main character line up. Of all freaking ponies to become a student of twilight's they picked HER? WTF. And on that note, how is it that Twilight is going to take it upon the herself to just decide to become a teacher of alicorn magic without consulting Celestia or there being a big deal made out of it? How is it that Trixie is not the one to become her student as she has WAY more potential? And if Twilight is going to train up a Princess, why not choose Rarity? I just don't like the whole concept for Twilight to have a pupil, or even be a princess for that matter.

But i digress. The only thing that I would respect about the choice to use Starlight is if throughout her teachings she finds ways to cheat or cut corners or something as I would expect someone of her caliber to do. She's too similar to Twilight for me in design to enjoy looking at her.
