How Do You Sneeze?

Everybody is unique.  We all have different fingerprints, different ways we talk, and different ways we sneeze.

 

As for me, I used to always sneeze while trying to keep my mouth shut and keep the sneeze as quiet as possible, and it would come out as a grunting sound.  But then a year or so ago, I stopped doing that, and now my sneezes are quite loud.  In fact, when I'm standing up, I'll often lunge forward as I sneeze, which tends to make people look at me funny.

 

Other people often have very quiet, high-pitched sneezes like Fluttershy would probably have.  And then there's my classmate that will sneeze as if she's screaming at the top of her lungs while the teacher is talking.

 

Anyways, as the title of this thread asks, how do you and the people that you know sneeze?

When I sneeze, I hold it in because I don't want to make a noise that could disturb other people nor do I want them to be disgusted that I made such a loud sneeze. Sometimes when I sneeze like this, I do feel slight discomfort because holding it in isn't the best thing to do, but I've been doing it for so many years now that it's become second-nature to me.

I hold it all in as much as I can so I don't disrupt anything contemplative. It all just sort of implodes and sounds like a muffled 'ka-chph!'   I have to make sure I keep my posture right ahead of time so I don't blow anything out of alignment when a good sneeze comes on. 

 

My brother is a loud sneezer and can blow the windows out if the pressure isn't equalized in the house ahead of time.

Loud and obnoxiously, unfortunately.  Of course I try to hold it in and I do cover my mouth, one of the reasons being to attempt to silence it a bit but no matter what I do, it comes off rather loud.  It's one of those sudden, quick and loud sneezes that often cause me to jump and/or make the weirdest jerk-like movements so I usually end up in an awkward position by the end of it.  I definitely don't have one of those cute, dainty sneezes, haha.

I'm a multiple sneezer and the last one is either really loud or doesn't happen. It's either "Achoo! Achoo! ... HAISHOO!" or "Achoo! Achoo! *gasp* ... Dammit!"

I think I sneeze rather ordinarily. Nothing immensely drastic about it. Not very quiet like Flutters nor are they really loud. I have a boring sneeze. Boreeze.

I have a very loud sneeze, I used to try and hold it in but that tends to hurt so I stopped doing that.  I've given up all hope that I'll have a quiet sneeze one day.

   Well, at one end of this snotty spectrum! My sister has these tiny, delicate little sneezes sometimes where you can clearly hear her go "Chu!" in much the same tone as Pikachu does, hah!

 

  My sneezes are far, far more elaborate. See, I inherited my nasal polyps from my Mother (though I don't know if that's something that you can, or just that we both lived too long in the California smog) so I tend to have varying degrees of room in my nose with which to sneeze and I may vary well whistle with it on occasion. On top of that, for the longest time I tried holding it in until it occurred to me that A)as much galeforce winds as I was holding back, I'd likely pop a blood vessel or do some damage like how they kid about in cartoon shows and 2) don't think anyone cares so long as your not exploding all over their neck at the time.

 

 

   I have a multiple part sneeze. A sharp, sudden, usually high-pitched intake of air, followed by a rattling honk as the air rushes though my pipes and shoves my tonsils clear up to my sinuses and runs my throat sore, then that quickly followed by a shrill shudder as my mouth rattles open from the force, sounding somewhat like a botched attempt at laughing.

Basically: HNNK, HUUGK, Fweee-heeeeee-HIIIIII!

And yes, during my writing this I've been trying to force myself to sneeze in order to have a frame of reference, to no avail. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go snort a salt shaker!

All depends on the situation. I hold it in when need be and keep it quiet, but generally I sneeze loud.

It depends on the situation. If I'm in a public area, I'll sneeze as quietly as possible. If I'm with friends, I'll sneeze a bit louder, but not so loud it's annoying. However when I'm alone, I sneeze like this:

 

*deep breath*

AAAAAAAAAAA.

 

Instead of making an "achoo!" sound, I almost always just yell it. Sometimes it sounds like a very loud cough.
