mega thread What is your sexuality ?

Came back to this topic out of interest, there's a problem I've been having and I guess this is the only place I can really seek advice because perhaps some of ya people had a similar situation.

Being someone who has never told anyone that I'm bisexual and probably never will, I'm kind of afraid what my friends will think of me if I told them. Reason being is, is that I'm tired of being single and thus decided to go to bars and parties. However, I don't like going alone so I always go with friends. However. that's where the whole problem begins, I have to keep myself "in line" and not try to hit it off with guys because that might seem strange to my friends, but at the same time I feel sick and tired of acting this way.

The other problem is, here in Holland, there's this stupid "veil" around sexuality, everyone tells eachother they're totally "okay" with people having different sexualities, but in the end most of them really don't. In fact, they only think negatively of them. All because of stupid social control and pressure.

Anyways, long story short, how do I tell my friends I'm bi? There're 3 friends I'm afraid to tell because they seem kind of pro-hetero and anti-everythingelse.

If they are truly your friends, they wouldn't mind and accept who you are. The last part of your post seems disconcerting, yes, but my friends are no different (or at least so I thought).

The way they act you get the impression they would kill anyone who is not straight or something, and I'm not joking.

However, my friends genuinely think I am gay. Of course, it's just because of this whole me obsessing over ponies thing. I don't care what they think of me so I never really said "I'm not gay, I'm not even sure what I am".

Anyway, the point is, even though they think I am gay they haven't changed the way the treat me, nor do they seem to mind.

It's not healthy if you keep suppressing yourself. I'm sure they won't throw you down an abyss. Trust me, friends may bake you poison cookies, but they don't kill you because you are bi. ;)

By "sexually attracted" I mean, well this is hard to explain, uhm, I feel "pulled" towards them and I really like him or her, but like I said, wouldn't ever want to have sex with that person. The "attraction" is there, but I just don't want more than that.

Your somewhat like me. Even though I don't find sex disgusting, I just don't seem appealed to it. That is why images like pornography are not a huge turn on for me and I often avoid looking at them. However, I'm still attracted to people on different levels rather then for the sex.

Completely straight.  I have no interest in men, only women.

Although tfw no gf is one I feel often.  So yeah, straight, but with a lack of a girlfriend.

Most bronies I in real life are gay, so I'm surprised the majority of what I'm seeing of this thread is straight.

I myself am straight as well.

You're kidding, right?

The majority of people are obviously straight, so why would it surprise you that the majority of us are straight?  Just sayin'.

Bisexual. Not much else to say really. Don't really mind if anyone finds out, there's nothing bad about it.

I actually thought I was straight until about two years ago, I guess one's sexuality isn't determined from birth after all.

Pansexual i guess?

I just find silly that, for example, if i love Mlp, videogames and music,

and i find another person, that loves the same things, i cannot love her/him just because it's my same sex,

just love who you want  :)

Where exactly did you get that little tidbit? The poll on here indicates that over 60 percent of the users on here are heterosexual. What evidence do you have that the rest of the Brony population is any different?

I don't mean any offense by this, but what's with the ridiculous amount of bisexual people on here? I didn't realize there was such a high percentage of bi people.

I guess there are quite a few that identify as such. I'm not to judge because only they can determine their orientation, not I.

Definitely straight. Although, i'm not afraid to admit when I think a man is handsome. But I have absolutely no hatred whatsoever towards homosexuals. In fact, i'll say I love them!  :)

They always have better fashion tastes than me....  <_<

*Ahem* I don't get what the big deal is with calling people gay (as an insult) is anyway. How is it an insult? It's a sexual preference some men/women are born with. That's like walking up to me and saying "Whitie!". What the hackers?

Related, I absolutely hate it when  I hear about intolerance towards them. It's just stupid. Luckily, I was raised better.

{Story Time!} I actually heard a story on the local news where a guy had his car keyed (Of course with the word "Fag" on it) and his tires slashed just for being gay. I automatically squee'd when I heard a local body shop fixed his car up with no charge.

So yeah, props to you guys (and bi's and a's) for being tough and having to deal with people like that.

Seriously, how do you guys do it?

... Oh jeez, I went off-topic with my usual rants....  :(

I'm straight, but I would consider myself to have a little asexual in me. The reason why being that all the girls in my town are repulsive(Drugs, Sex, Lack of brain, etc.), that I have just about given up on love itself.

Well... I'm only 16 and I've only ever had one boyfriend. We never did anything sexual and I wasn't attracted to him in the least. To be honest, I only ever went out with him as a test run, and I suppose he pressured me, as did my friends. I had zero desire to be in a relationship, but it was middle school and everyone tries their best to fit in.

Outside of elementary school, I didn't get crushes on people. Nowadays, I still don't become infatuated with others. When people ask me out, even when we are best friends and we click really well, I turn them down. I don't want a relationship and I am not attracted to people (I do see beauty in others, but no desire for them).

I'm not sure about this, but I think I am asexual. After all, I am only 16. I always heard that teenagers are sex-crazed, hormonal people. Either that is not true, or I am definitely asexual. I have a lot of growing up to do though, so maybe it's just that I put up walls and need to break them down.

Until further notice, I consider myself asexual.

I'm not precisely sure at the moment, but based on recent events I selected bisexual anyways. I've noticed myself to feel less attracted to the opposite gender than most other guys, but I still am. That tingle I get in the locker room or at the swimming pool, though, has given me the feeling that girls aren't the only thing I like. Either way, I live in a place where this is relatively accepted so I'm not having problems. :)

Honestly, I'm not sure myself. Some days I just don't know, some days I hate everyone, some days I love everyone, some days I feel more attracted to one gender or the other, I'm a teenager and this really isn't the time for me to make a judgment call on my sexuality.

You being serious?

That's a total lie right there. The larger portion of the entire worlds population are heterosexual, saying that most bronies are gay is something I would expect from a 3 year old on YouTube comments. I would say there are more bisexual than gay bronies, myself included in that.

A few ideas :D : One of my friends has a theory saying that bi people are for some reason most usually kind&nice, and therefore it would quite make sense to have high percenteage of these people amongst bronies (who most usually happen to be kind&nice).

Anyway, I think it has something to do with the brony enviroment and with the knowledge that nopony here is going to throw rocks at you or prepare stakes to burn you when you admit that you are bi - this might boost the number of people who actually admit it a bit... This enviroment might of course also in the same fashion boost up the number of people who actually admit it to themselves -  when they see that there is in fact nothing bad about it.

Or, perhaps bi people are just more proud to show it ? I have no idea. Anyway - look at the number of votes - there's a bit over 700 of them. That surely is not the whole site, and it may be questionable whatever can this number of votes bring a really legitimate results.

As far as I can tell I am 99.9% straight. I've only had one relationship but it was with a girl, and I can't say I've ever found myself attracted to any guys I have met.

However, I have for the past few years built an image in my head of the kind of guy I could maybe fall for but the chances of finding a person with all these traits I envision in my head is probably next to impossible. Doesn't mean I won't keep a weather eye open...
