What would happen if somepony didn't fix the friendship problem the Cutie Map told them to fix?

Would the map just continue to say there's a friendship problem there or would it stay there for a moment then move? Maybe it would just never say a friendship problem ever again? I'm not sure, what's your thoughts?

It is like an unfinished mission in Grand Theft Auto. Twilight won't get 100% completion by the end of the show.

Oh god, but Twilight is a perfectionist and she's OCD about everything, so she would personally try to fix it if a pony just said "Eenope". I don't think that would end well...

That’s a really good question, we haven’t seen the mane six fail at a friendship mission. :o

I personally think the map would continue to say there’s a friendship problem, since the problem would still remain. Plus, no friendship problem is so severe that it’s unfixable. ;)

The only other thing we've seen happen to the map is it change to a reddish color in the alternate timeline where Equestria was at war with King Sombra. In that timeline no friendship problems could be solved, or maybe since the elements of harmony are never found/able to be used, none appear. Then again, the map was only there because Twilight was sent, and before that it didn't exist.

Perhaps the area where the friendship problem would turn reddish and eventually as more and more problems arose the whole map would change and Equestria would become just as bad as the rest of the world. When Twilight and Fluttershy were called to solve the Hooffields and McColts friendship problem, they found out it had been going on for generations, so maybe the map only calls on upon them when things are about to get so bad that any chance of solving the problem is gone and the whole area suffers for it.

Twilight will come to learn a very important lesson, nothing is perfect. In accepting and finding peace with things as they are, she will outgrow her one-dimensional self. And become a real life pony.

The show ends with a cinematic view of this small-sized horse running freely among pastures unending, and falling off a cliff after forgetting about her wings.

I can imagine if Twilight was sent to a part of Equestria only to scour the WHOLE city/town to only find out that SHE was the one who was the one who needed to have the problem resolved... that would be a twist.

That... or the map decides to fold in on itself because of the paradigm shift this would cause.

Well, ponies are playing as Advent with friendship problems and friendship projects representing base assaults and dark events respectively. It is up to the great non-pone commander to disrupt them and stop the Friendship Project before the Elders manage to complete it. Seems about right.

You can't fix a friendship problem if your friend dies.

Maybe it would call someone else to solve the friendship problem in their place.

Map: "Well buck, if you won't fix the problem I'll find somepony who will" *disappointed map noises*

I guess that works, but that's a reactive action, I like trying to be preventative, but I guess it's what the map wants.

I think if nopony fixed the problem that the map is telling them to fix, I think it would keep that pony's cutie mark hovering above the problem spot, and when a new problem occurs, it keeps the ponies cutie mark hovering above the old problem, but also has a new cutie mark (or the same cutie mark of the original pony) hovering above the new spot. I think it's kinda like a voice mailbox, if you don't take care of the problems, they just keep adding up :squee:

But the map shows where the problem is as-well so it would just float over where Twilight is.

All you had to do is follow the train!

You know; something in my gut says this will be explained in a future episode.

But maybe the map chose them, and there's just no chance of them failing; Like it's written in stone.

Everypony fails, that's been evident since episode 1, it's all about fixing those problems

Well it's reactive to a failed solution. I'm not sure where preventative measures fall into play here

These comments have been most amusing though.

I'm not saying its possible to be preventative, but that's just how I like looking at things.

You're right, you cant really be preventative because the map is so unclear about who or what the problem is.

Well for starters they'd have that annoying map nag them by flashing their cutie mark or whatever endlessly. It'd be like having the Powerpuff Girls' phone constantly beeping, but its always with you.

I think there won't be such a scenario. The map knows who is gonna solve it. :dash:
