How Many Season Will MLP: FiM Last?

Gone Airbourne

Recommended Posts

Goodness, didn't the season literally just begin? It's much too early to tell, and as others have stated, it's making Hasbro some serious money at the moment for them to just throw it away. At the very least they'll probably keep trying to cash in on it until the well runs dry, but again, who knows.

Regardless, don't let that worry ruin your enjoyment of the show while it's still here, alive and kicking.

I mean we have not heard ANY news of a season 5 yet. We knew 100% that Season 4 was going to happen by the first week of November last year. The financials do not seem to have that information this time around...

Could this be the end of FiM?

Patience. We have another 21 weeks to go before season 4 finishes (season 4 includes 24 eps including two one-hour eps, eps come out once a week.....). Don't get hasty and enjoy this season to the fullest. It'll go on for a while after all :)

Plus, iirc, it was established with the Hub that FiM would get another run after the first 3 seasons and from what I know, each run comprises of something like 64 episodes. Judging by that, there will be more seasons after this one.

I highly doubt it, think of it from a business perspective. MLP FIM is a cash cow, they would be stupid to end FIM, it brings them in large amounts of money from all demographics.

What's with this perpetual worrying about an oncoming storm we always fin ourselves fussing over? The fandom is dying, this feels like the end, Hasbro might hate bronies. Do we have to continue with this attitude going into each season or hiatus? Just be happy, guys; FiM is back!

But I digress. No, I don't think we should expect this to end soon. Makes too much money to just end it now.

It is just a pervasive feeling.  The episode just kind of screamed final arc.

The finale of Season 3 felt so much like a series finale to me that I had to reconfirm that there was actually a Season 4 confirmed. But here it is.

Hasbro might hate bronies

People actually say that? Here I am thinking Hasbro might even be taking its more mature fandom in mind when they made the season 4 opening with a promise for more continuity than in previous seasons, something you very rarely see in a show meant for girls who aren't even 10 years old. Wow.

I doubt it. Hasbro is gonna keep milking this show and it's fandom, and all the kids that watch it for as long as they can. Why else would they meddle with its characters if they didn't profit them?

I hope it would last seven seasons, so long as the show does not end at season four I hope, nor go on infinity and become redundant or blasé like the Simpsons or Pokemon. I would keep the seasons self contained, wrap up and resolve story arcs to keep loose ends or cliffhangers from occurring, just like with Sonic the Hedgehog season two finale, however I do want the MLP to go on, and dazzle me like the seasons already have, and with season four under way I definitely want to see more.

Depends, really. If we simply stick with the current mane cast, we will probably be out of things to really do with them by season 7 at the latest, if the show stays around. Making a "changing of the old guard" could give the show something run on for longer, but could easily alienate the fanbase if done wrong.

Yes, I know people mentioned how Doctor Who keeps things fresh, but here's the thing:

Both the doctors and companions usually change within a reasonably short time, though to be fair, it took until episode 48 before the first switch was made back in the day...

Changing the guard would have to be a very careful project

What if at some point the main cast becomes about the offspring of the mane 6 with their parents being like a supporting cast?

Could work, I suppose. Still see a lot of fanbase rioting, but the MLP fanbase is always doing that anyways...

There really is no way to say. The show's been left in good hooves, and I feel like they know what they're doing; at least more than we give them credit for. I feel like they could safely keep the show going for many more seasons if they play their cards right. But who knows? They may just play it safe and keep it short, or overelongate it until we get the next Spongebob Squarepants. Either way, there's no way to tell when they'll end it.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

One thing is for certain, when it ends it will be a very sad day for all of us. I don't know about you but to me MLP has changed who i am. Once a shell of his former self i was cold and devoid of emotion. A girl in my life showed me the way but i cannot hang out with her nor can i pay her in full my gratitude... MLP has taught me how to love and feel again just as much as this girl has. I owe everything i currently am to this girl and MLP. Ponies are such a big part of my life now. And to me they give me great hope, and fill me with wonder i thought i would never feel again after becoming a fully grown man, wonder of being an innocent child. My words cannot do MLP justice though I will be eternally grateful to Lauren Faust and all the wonderful people who made this epic show possible.

Every day that passes makes me worry about this more, or figure it is over more.  I mean the first three episodes were VERY good.  You would think they would give us word on it.  They have in every prior year.

I'm afraid that they won't have another season. But it all depends on the success of season. But I feel that if there isn't a season 5, the bronies and pegasisiters would make a fan base season 5. Sorta like Double Rainboom but more Hasbro style ^_^
