books The Book Thread

I really currently love "Diary" and "RANT: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey", both by the genius Chuck Palahniuk. Diary is one of his least loved works due to it's complete lack of a plot up until the ending and the sort of mishmash of the story, but I found it really, really enjoyable despite that. RANT was the first book I read by him, and it's inspired me a lot to write.

NOTE; If you're interested in reading any of his work (Fight Club, Choke, Tel-All, Survivor, etc.) BE WARNED. He deals with EXTREMELY GRAPHIC content matter.

If manga counts as a book, then DragonBallZ series has to be my favourite.

But if you only count traditional books, then the Deltora Quest series will be my favourite book series ^^

Ooohhhh.... I really recommend this book:

post-13636-0-73551800-1367367239_thumb.jpg

It is absolutely amazing and will hook you into the adventurous story from page 1 all the way to the end. The bittersweet thing about it is that it is a trilogy (yay! sequels!) but then again it is a trilogy (aww... it's over?)

SO SO SO good! I would read it over and over again if I could (or had the time) Plus the illustrations scattered throughout the book are phenomenal.

Like the title says. Why is this book your favorite? Do you just simply enjoy it the most, or it touched your heart in some way? Or something else?

We already have a thread about favourite books, and as such this thread will be merged with it. When creating new threads, do make sure to utilize the search function to find if it has been created before.

Signature to come soon. I think. Yeah. Once I think up a nice one. Or when someone makes one for me. Damn it. I need more time to draw and animate poni. >_<

I don't read books much, but I have a few that I enjoy:

All Quiet on the Western Front - I enjoy a good war novel every now and then and this one is by far my favorite

Catcher in the Rye - Though the fact that it inspired the video game "Bully"(one of my favorite Rockstar games) helps

Eh, I honestly don't read hardly ever, idk I just never was a book person, wasn't something that typically really caught my interest much.

Although I have read some books, not many but yeah. Out of all the ones I read I think Hunger Games series was my favorite. It was a while since I read it but yeah. That said I haven't read a whole lot of books, since its not something I typically do.

Gotta go with 'Cell' by Stephen King. I won't spoil anything for potential readers, but the entire book is one big emotional ride in terms of characters. From the moment a character is introduced, you continue learning about them until they seem real, and anything that happens to them afterward is incredibly devastating to you.

I've got an idea! No..... No, wait; it's just a concussion....

My favorite book is Warrior by Erin Hunter.  I personally like fantasy books because it's just fun to read these types of books and it makes it easier to imagine a different character in place of the original characters every now-and-then.

My favorite book is easily, "A Monster Calls" by: Patrick Ness. It's my all time favorite simply because I enjoyed every moment. I stayed up several hours to finish reading it. The ending was bittersweet as well.

Of Mice and Men. Great story. The ending actually made me cry which is incredibly uncommon with a book. I love to read despite my lack of doing so... I just find other things to take up my time.

I am not a fan of reading, but my favorite book would be Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. That's my favorite book in the Harry Potter series, although I really didn't like the movie, it was crap compared to the book.

Harry Potter is my absolute favorite book (well, book series) ever and will probably stay that way. I love those books to death and have read all of them at least three times; if not more.

I also like The Hobbit and some of Stephen King's work along with White Fang. The Underneath is a great book as well as Milkweed.

Well back when I was young I LOVED the Goosebumps series by R.L. Stine. I owned almost the whole collection, including the standard, choose your own adventure ones and special editions ones. Such as joy to read.

Today, one of the books I really liked was 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. Though I have to say the ending was a bit disappointing imo.

I just love ''Series of Unfortunate Events'' by Lemony Snicket and ''The Hunger Games'' by Suzzane Collins. They're amazing. I've got plenty of other groups I enjoy reading like, ''Dork Diaries'' and ''Eragon''.

"The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" by John Boyne. I read it in my English class last year. Great depiction of German-Jewish relationships during the Second World War, great characters, and an ending that made me cry. I recommend everyone to read it.

It just simply is the best book I have ever read. And I've read some great books before, like the Artemis Fowl books, the Bartimaeus trilogy, and some others. :D
