So, do you think Bronies will go down in history?

I mean, we all have made a pretty big change in the world.

Do you think that there will at least be a little bit of information about us in future history books?

The extent of my interest is in things that don't exist.

Or, at least, things that aren't in the basic man's senses

No, that's ridiculous. We haven't done anything historically important that would make us go down in history or be in history books, that's silly...

Have we not already? We have destroyed the useless gender barriers when it comes to media and other things and we have shattered what society should expect on things like this.

Too bad general society is still dumb as f**k though. If we changed that, the world would collapse on itself.

Nor did any of the other historical figures at their time. We may just be a stepping stone for something much greater, you never know. Thought unless you can see into the future you can never know. I for one HOPE we have shifted the social norm and shown people that liking something different and especially controversial from the opposite gender is fine.

I'm going to say judging on the fandom right now, that we wouldn't hit the mainstream textbooks, but probably stand a chance at appearing in some specific academic text on pop culture history or animation history. Bronies are in interesting phenomenon from one of those lenses.

Of course, history as we know it may be taught in a radically different way by the time bronies would be relevant to it. I mean, everything changes so much after a while. Who knows what will be important to history?

Will there be information of Pokémon fans in future books/articles/tv-shows/discussions? No.

Will there be information of Bronies in future books/articles/tv-shows/discussions/etc? Again, probably, no.

What our community has done; both for others and ourselves, all mindblowing fan-created content, all the love within the community, all the donations we have done just for kindness. Or that we are trying to show the world how humans should not be judged by their interests. It is all pretty big things we have achieved. At least to me it is. But open your eyes, the world foregets. When it is 2050 we will not have made any changes to that future world. Some people will be hearing about all this and either think it is ridiculous, hilarious or maybe even cool. But I  honestly don't think that we will be changing any future ahead.

The fandom of My Little Pony is very large and is even considered a sub-culture by now. But it is still just a fandom. It can be a life-style for a few. But trust me. Every fandom, dies if it not stays active. Friendship is Magic will have many more episodes for us all to watch, that's for sure. So I don't see it dying out anytime soon. But when the show is over, people will get bored of it all. Even though there will be loads of fan created content. I'll stay. When something has once caught my attention, I'm on it like a hawk. But a lot of people will leave and the fandom/sub-culture will decrease in size.

Something that goes in to "history" is usually something that has made a change to the future. I find it hard to believe that people in the future will see our fanbase as something that did that. Even though it maybe did. Maybe people in the future will care less about what others think and just follow their interests, just because of us? Who knows. But it's not going to be something big enough to go to history.

I may be all wrong about this. And I probably said the same sentences over and over. I didn't re-read.

TL;DR: All fandoms will of course be well remembered, especially one like ours that has grown this big. But we won't make enough change to the future to be in the history books.

I would say we're already there.

Obviously not something history book wise, but anything fandom related then yes.

We really shook up the general idea of fans especially when it comes to liking something technically not related to your demographic.

Believe it or not, I do believe so.

This is something almost never before done or seen through out the history of many fandoms.

The variety of stuff we've done such as convention, fan videos, merchandise, and art will be eventually recognized down it history.

I should also mention, a book I read in my psychology class had a page talking about the star wars fandom. It mentioned how the creator never saw it coming, the large gatherings for this, and much more. And one of the questions said:

"During the last couple of years, have you seen another big fan cult following to a movie or cartoon?"

How coincidentiall...

I think we will go down in history, as a fandom that produces a lot of content and for breaking the gender barriers that are basically in society today. I mean we have accomplished so much. I am pretty much glad, that I did join this fandom. We are pretty known for a lot, things in the world and I think that we made a lot of achievements as a community.

sort of, i think that we will be remembered for challenging societal norms but not simply for liking MLP. We challenge what constitutes masculine behaviour and we may be remembered for that. Either way i doubt we will go down in any history books.

Eh. We might get a footnote for being one of the first groups to challenge the gender roles traditionally taken on by men.

Other than that, I can't see us getting into any real history book unless somepony assassinates someone really important and starts WWIII. Which is, of course, not a good idea.

Well. Surprisingly, I think that most of the bronies join the fandom because it is like the main thing. If rap and hip-hop are mainstream, then people are likely to listen and when rap and hip-hop dies off, then most will leave, making it almost forgotten.

I don't think that we will go down on a history book ever. Sure, we might of broken gender stereotypes but how about the girls who watch boys shows? Are they on history books? Hell no. Besides, I'm pretty sure when the show ends, a lot of people will leave the fandom, leaving it to die.

Sorry to be harsh, but this might be the big truth about us. We really joined the fandom because My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the main thing of this decade as well as hip hop and rap, so as dubstep.

Sure, there might be a cult following but I don't know if it will be in history.

Hey, who said I can't have an opinion?

I don't think we'll get into actual history books per say. But we will be pretty well known for a while, and its possible that we can and have already changed the world for the better, whether the world remembers this is a different story.

I can see us being well known for a while, but not sure if we'll be in any history books. We might be in a book on a college course about subcultures or something, thats about it.

Simple Answer: Hell Yes We Will!!!

Why?: Because Bronies are one of the largest, most unexpected communities this world has seen! Thats why.

We are all over the internet, we have members from pretty much every country and we continue to grow. So there is no doubt in my mind that we will go down in history, as it were.

Plus I mean...come-on...we are pretty freakin awesome ;)

The world took a turn with new electronics and Apple devices. And by the way, the were a group of guys and men who liked ponies in this time. And with the new el....

Seriously. Some things are put in our textbooks like that XD

I would doubt it honestly.  I don't think that we're going to cause some huge cultural shift like there was previously in history.  We might get a small reference in a history textbook, alongside Trekkies or some other fandom, but I can't see it going any further than that.

Assuming that civilization doesn't collapse, the information about Bronies will still be out there in the future. There will be things brought in to the future equivalent of Antiques Roadshow, there will be reams of data floating around, there will pieces of art and other fan-made stuff.

As to whether anyone besides the odd obscure historian will care will be hard to say. There are plenty of Americans today who don't know about the Great Awakening or who Eugene Debs was or even what Iran-Contra was about. So I find it hard to believe that the average somebody born today would know about Bronies when they reach adulthood, let alone a generation past that.

Of course, if Bronyism builds into something else, then it'll be guaranteed a minor place in history as the thing that caused this other thing, like the Maine or 1930's German politics or Commodore Perry. But I don't think that's terribly likely.

Oh i'm pretty sure we'll go down in history one way or another. The world has even begun to understand the power of the pony. True story.

I have read through a lot of your opinions, and I think while we haven't made that big of a splash in the world yet, we very well could in the future. And think of all the fan art that we have created. One day, we can look back at those and think about this. There doesn't have to be a history book about us. We have made our own.

Possibly but it is way too soon to tell, as has been pointed out bronies have openly mocked gender rolls by watching a show about cartoon ponies which is opening up a long overdue debate about that and without question we have a huge presence but the brony fandom has only been around for 2 maybe 3 years tops that is way too soon to determine whether it will be considered historically significant or not. In order for that to happen the brony fandom will have to rival the Star Wars or DC or Marvel comics fandoms which will take a very long time if it even happens at all but we are at least off to a very very good start.
