What's next for Flurry Heart?

Check the picture. That's no baby alicorn in a cradle; she's obviously ready to throw down, if necessary.

So, what next? I fully expect to see her aged a few years in Season 7, to the point where she's at least talking. We know she's got a ridiculous amount of magic in that horn, plus a unique existence in Equestria as an alicorn by birth. She presents interesting possible scenarios. Some of the more mundane ones might include her being mentored by Twilight / befriended by Spike the protector of the Crystal Empire, and/or figuring herself out with the CMCs. But, what other ones?

Does she go somewhat Anakin Skywalker on her friends and get power hungry? Will she be more like Twilight, or Starlight? Will we not see her again until the movie? Will she help save Equestria after Chrysalis secretly takes the form of Princess Ember, and leads the dragons on a revolt?

There's a few wild cards going into S7, and she's one of `em. Discuss, if so inclined!

Seems the overpwered super baby might have some use, but I really hope she won't become some Ex Machina character. That would be going from one extreme (useless) to another (convenient problem solver).

At this point I can't think of what they would do with her, I personally still want some more character interaction episodes. Like having an episode with her and Twilight and so on. We haven't even got that yet! :okiedokieloki:

What's next?
Pooping on the floor and then taking a nap after eating spaghettios.

But for overall plot? I'm not expecting her to be Super powerful or whatnot, but I WOULD like to see them come up with a purpose for her, such as her being connected by prophecy or something to another artifact like the crystal heart-- Not connected because she's super powerful, but rather connected and neccessary to the plot because as a new alicorn her "destiny" will be to watch over that object, like celestia with the sun and Cadence with the crystal heart.

Basically have a plot where the mane six have to escort flurry heart to a location or object so she can commune with it, with her actual role being just as a Macguffin to be taken to another macguffin.

Hmm... aging McFlurry is a good idea for developing her, but that means aging the whole FiM world and that might be negative to the other characters . If she were to age to the same age as the cuties, the cuties themselves would be mid-teen at the least, and the Mane6 would be old enough for one or two to be married and with foals of their own . I don't think we'll go that route

Option 2: Age her a bit less and give her a personality, but that'll make no much sense and being barely past baby limits her potential

option 3 and the one that makes MORE sense to me: bring an older McFlurry from the future, ala Future Trunks from Dragon Ball series, sans the world going bonkers prophesy. It can be something more simple and mundane like: she found the time-traveling scroll lying around and she used it out of curiosity. She could be learning friendship lessons herself like Starlight this past season, but as a mare would feel forceful and with little sense (seriously, didn't her mom or aunt taught her all that). She could be there as a filly and hanging out with the cuties

I kinda doubt they're gonna SORAS her or anything. She can apparently fly and get really angry, and that's funny - maybe we'll see more of that. But, most likely, she's just gonna be continuing to do baby things offscreen, because first, she lives in the Crystal Empire, a place we don't see all the time, and second, she's a freaking baby, even if she does have a bit more physical capabilities and awareness than a real baby would. Don't expect her to do a whole lot, except maybe cause her parents stress.

She's still just a baby although I think she has grown a tiny bit as evidenced by her actions during the final five minutes of the season six finale. If anything, Flurry Heart is likely going to be slightly different in season seven but still not truly capable of utilizing the kind of magic an alicorn can use.

I think it'd be really interesting to see how the primary characters would react if Flurry Heart turned to the dark side. I wanna know how they'd deal with it. It seems like they have high expectations for her.

But as far as it really happening, I doubt it will. And I doubt she'd be old enough for such an endeavor without a lot of time passing. I think the entire series has covered only a couple years or so.

Same as always:

7 a.m.: Wake up. Cry until Cadence gets her for feeding time.

7:30 a.m.: Googoos and gagas until Shining Armor is forced to get up to.

8 a.m.: Breakfast for everypony else. Full diaper. Appetites lost.

8:30 a.m.: Time for play (and secretly reveling in destroying breakfast)

Between 9 and 9:30 a.m.: More baby breakfast. Afterwards put down for nap.

11 a.m.: Wake up in terrible mood. make sure Cadence knows it.

Noon: Lunch. Oh hell no! No food for this angry pony baby!

12:30 p.m.: Massive game of peekaboo played by all members of honor guards to calm baby! Success!

1:30 p.m.: Late Lunch. Back to bed.

3:30 p.m.: Wake up not so grumpy. Ready to play more peekaboo.

4 p.m.: No guards around. Get into mischief. Steal Sunbursts glasses, blow roof off palace.

5 p.m.: Time for dinner. Mushed oats. Yuck! More diaper shenanigans

5:30 p.m.: More play time. Make all topiary come to life... attack palace guards. Shining Armor cries.

6:30 p.m.: Bath time. Palace flooded. Giant rubber duckies everywhere. Citizens confused.

7 p.m.: Snack, then off to bed. Thank God!

1:30 a.m.: Wakes everyone in palace up with very loud crying fit wanting food. Cadence throws object at Shining Armor.

Oh, and she might get kidnapped along with the rest of the royal family by whatever flavor of the month villain shows up.

Other than that, I suspect she'll eventually grow up within some destiny to either reform or defeat the Umbrum at some point and free the Crystal Empire from the terror of them forever.

I imagine she'll just remain a baby character doing baby things for at least a while. It's worth noting that Pumpkin and Pound are still babies after several seasons. I can see her maybe having aged a bit in a few seasons, seeing as she's obviously more significant than the Cake's babies, but I think it'd be a bit too big of a jump for her to have aged several years inbetween seasons. We've never had that big of a time jump before, so I doubt they'd do it now.

She'll be the only filly to not acknowledge her purpose/destiny and thus lacking her Cutie Mark because she always have everything she ever had and never step outside of the mold that her parents made her to become. This in return, she'll seek help from the CMCs to help her to find her divine purpose as Crystal Empire's royal heir but only she in return can find whom she is. Her Cutie Mark may be the most important if not, the right to become Princess.

I would be nice to at least have her talk. Probably asking too much to see her as a filly :P

Also I just noticed... She she can use magic and fly yet she still needs a diaper? :squee:

Honestly any flying babies, ponies or otherwise, I would prefer wear a diaper if you understand my meaning.

The ponies of the Crystal Empire are to this day still talking about "the incident". They don't want a repeat.

SHE'S A FREAKING BABY? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM HER?

Well, at least a bit of ... you know, important plot element? Come on, a first born Alicorn in 1000 years, this should be important. Season 6 just introduce the character and throw that character away, if you introduce a box with 6 key holes, it should be important in later episodes.

I agree, she's a walking historic event, she should be important to the plot one day. Still, her being a baby complicates things regarding on the plot. We want her as a character, not as a plot element. I have the idea of pulling a Future Trunks on FiM with her, minus the world going bonkers prophesy. She could be here as a mare, but that'll either take chances of developing now that she's an adult (would make her less interesting), or she'll be irresponsible (which is not believable). If she comes as a filly however, there's more room for character development with the help of the CMCs

Well she would become some kind of uber weapon child to raise for a lot of villains that would try to get their paws or hooves on her. Maybe draw out her energy to use for themselves (Tirek). For Flurry to have her own individuality as to introduce plots she might have to have aged a bit, I can imagine a future side of her coming to the present or the ponies go to the future and meet her.

  • 2 weeks later...

Other than hopefully a bit of explanation on Alicorn lore, and maybe an episode of Twilight and co. babysitting her, I don't see her doing much besides being cute and/or annoying. What else do people expect? Unless she get's older like is suggested here, they can't really do much with her.

She's a baby, she doesn't have much of a personality yet, there's not much character growth you can do there, teaching her morals? She won't remember them. People are treating her like she's any other character, but she's not. She's a baby, they don't do much. If you hate her for that, I guess you just hate all baby characters that act like real babies?

pretty much true, i think it's early to even think about her role.

Or she is gonna help Twilight or Celestia, or she is become a villain. Actually, I think becoming a villain is a much more interresting role in the show and really awesome too.

I sort of hope the writers will forget about her and never focus on her again. I don't like the character much and most of the ways to make her relevant would turn her into a deus ex machina kind of character and I can't stand those.
