Racism.... controversial question because yes, because ... why not? just to see different opinions ...
What is the most racist thing that you have seen in your life? in my case it is a difficult question because I believe that the only racist I have seen in my life has been hatred towards Cubans and now racism towards Venezuelans (this is for socialist reasons in my country) but apart from that I rarely see that someone is racist ....

My father once told me that he traveled to Panama and sat in any square, right next to a man with dark skin, this man asked him: why do you sit next to me? you do not see my color? you are white! Whites do not sit with people of my color. (The man spoke feeling bad for his skin color) my dad answered: are you sick in the head? your color its great, I am not the great thing, I am a person, just like you! (Although this was not properly racist, but my dad could see how bad society could be with such a mentality, nobody is inferior or superior to anyone)
Having said that, what has been the most racist thing you've seen? Has it been with foreigners? has it been for skin colors? any other? Let's talk about controversy. :P

My parents are pretty racist or at least used to be though I can't blame them as they've grown up in that kind of environment so it can be hard to change.

I think these days the whole thing has gone bit too far as these days even if there wasnt any racism in some situations people still play the racism card to get an advantage which I think is pretty ridiculous but that's just how I see it.

Racism will only exist as long as people continue to make a thing out of it. Put a magnifying glass on anything and it'll get blown out of perspective. Morgan Freeman once said that racism will never go away until people stop talking about it and keeping it alive.

I was going to mention the same thing but I didn't think it would be answering the OP.

Used to be a convenience store nearby run by an Arab guy who refused to serve blacks. Got shut down a couple years ago.

Also 99% of what HuffPo, Vox, and other progessive outlets say about whites.

I've seen taped evidence of a boycott at UC Berkeley. It was finals week, and all the non-white students decided to protest racism around the entire campus perimeter. How? By forming a barricade specifically to keep all whites off campus so they couldn't get to class. Yeah..... fighting racism with MORE racism. That's what these fucking universities are teaching millennials to do in this country. Oh, and they barred Asians students too. They're from a culture that values hard work, so when everyone else sees them advancing in life and making something of themselves, that's a problem somehow.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are unalienable rights, but I guess not in the blue states, huh?

Yep. And that's just how the Democrats like it. Can't have it fade from our collective consciousness. How else can they push their commie agenda?

Racism is that thing where people think it doesn't exist for whites. However, anyone who believes in treating whites in a lesser manner is not racist... I'm sorry but I have no nice way to say it: you're just an idiot who has been brainwashed to have guilt over being white, or you are just buying into lame ass excuses made by racist individuals to justify being racist. There's no way to slice it but: you're an idiot, and if any of you want to try and challenge that point, be my guest you're not going to convince me that you are somehow in the right for being racist against white people or that your acts of racism are not racism.

That being said, I think America is currently OBSESSED With racism. I mean you got idiots like Shaun King who claim to be anti-racism and yet... He has been caught stealing money from a charity that was supposed to go to a black family that were the victims of racism. He has dismantled movements that were supposed to fight racism. He also can't even verify his stories of racism that have happened to him are true. Let's be real: Shaun King and CAREER activists have no interest in actually ending racism. That's why their solutions are always things that they know will never get picked up. They want racism to stay alive because they have made a career at pointing at racism and going "look, racism!" If people saw how much racism was actually dying and how it would soon be a non-problem people like him wouldn't be able to make money anymore.

Racist encounters, huh...

I think the worst of it that I've heard was back maybe 3-4 years ago when I was in school. Some guy got pissed at another guy for some reason and eventually called him the n word. Chaos ensued after that. :please:

because of my Latin American origin I do not know that word, I do not want to know it either, although I do not know what word it is, I know it is very insulting in the culture of North America, I only know that the people make reference to it in some movies '' the word with N'' but it's not very clear to me

even so, as I said before, I do not want to know a word that could hurt someone

I'm not going to state it here for obvious reasons but it's a derogatory word for African Americans and that is where I'm leaving it.

Eh....I've had my fair share of racist encounters, the usually middle finger while driving sometimes a verbally statement

honestly one of my friends told me that his parents told him not to hang out with me because of my race...keep in mind I haven't met his parents.

At some point you just come to not care when it happens, there are people who just wont like me just because of my race and I don't that will change anytime soon.

that's cruel ... where I come from, everyone usually gets along, if someone does not like someone else, it would be for personalities that do not fit together or for some bad moment and / or misunderstanding, but very rarely because of the color ... I do not know if it will influence the fact that in Latin America we are mostly mestizos (mixed races).

in any way I regret that you had to go through that, there are people who are still ... of thought closed... I also regret having made you relive a bad time. :adorkable: Im so sorry...

Oh man. My whole life my uncle expressed how much he despised me due to my mixed blood. Half Indian and Half European was something i struggled with in school as well. Too 'off colour' to hang with the popular kids, and too ethnic to hang with the pokemon kids. Still to this day i get a 50-50 of racism towards the ethnic side or the other side. Though i care less and less each passing year.

One day in the far future its said that there will only be one race which would consist of every race, thereby getting rid of such a barbaric feeling/practice.

Racist encounters........ I don't believe I've ever had any, but I think there was maybe one incident I can think of where my family and our neighbors may have been racists.......

I used to live in a far-flung suburb of Chicago, the town itself was still surrounded by lots of farms but it was growing. My family lived in a middle-income neighborhood that at that time was fairly new. At the time I lived there there was only one black family living in the entire neighborhood. Everyone else living there was white. My family knew a lot of our neighbors, it was a close-knit neighborhood. But there was one night I remember, it was a summer night that this incident happened. It was around ten or so at night, completely dark outside, and our doorbell rang. I answered the door with my mom and it was a black kid holding a big box of chocolates wanting to know if we wanted to buy any. This black kid was not a part of the single black family that lived in the neighborhood, so we knew right away that he wasn't from around there. We told him "No" and he went on his way to the next house. My mom called up our neighbors and asked if they had gotten that kid on their doorstep as well. They said yes, and at that she phoned the police and told them that a strange kid late at night was selling door-to-door in our neighborhood, and she wanted a cop car to drive through and make sure everything was OK. She and our neighbors figured that kid was checking out which houses were empty so he could break into them. I don't know if that was true, as I never found out what happened, I went to bed and never really thought of it again until now.

So I don't if we were truly racists or not that night, as if the kid had been white or something, I'm not sure we would have called the cops on him. So I don't know, I guess take it as you view it. :mlp_wat:

Honestly, this makes no sense to me.

I mean, the thing that keeps racism  alive is racist idiots, and those people will always exist regardless if we talk about it or not. If anything, ignoring the problem will just make everything worse.

That is absolute nonsense, racism is "created" it isnt inherent, wanting to guilt white people creates some reluctant "image of racism" but isnt actual racism, it's white people that are appalled by double standards held, by those trying to commission self integrity and pride, but thinking white people arent allowed to do the same without acknowledging that "they have it easier" or if they are "proud" they are a supremacist... it's nonsense, ganigs form racial segregation in every skin color,  infrastructural/social "sympathies "only exist for RACISTS that arent white, it's just a literal perception that only whites can be racist.

Probably some of the most racist things I've seen lately are mostly towards whites, not blacks. If you dig deep into the dark "p r o g r e s s i v e" corners of Twitter you may find a couple tweets which clearly display hatred towards SWM's (Straight White Males), and it sucks. It isn't widespread (thank god), but just like the alt-right it's spreading because more and more people are agreeing toward these extreme hot takes on society. People need to remember that "reverse racism" exists and it's just as racist as traditionally-recognized racism. People also need to remember to NOT BE RACIST. At all. Please.

...I probably should turn off notifications for this topic, shouldn't I?

I was thinking she might have made the call to make sure the kid didn't stray too far from home, but because she specifically worried the kid was trying to pick out houses to rob, that makes me suspect she was racist. Racists tend to view blacks as criminals, so assuming that the black kid was gonna rob somebody is a common mindset among those people. The best thing you can do is if something like that happens again remind your folks not to prejudge people based on their looks.

I get that some people might be overly quick to use the word racism, and I get that there might be some racism against white people. But are you seriously implying that actual racism against people of color simply doesn't exist?

Im claiming you cant be "born a racist" its not a problem you structurally force the issue on, people have life experiences, some tweeker white guy crackhead breaks into a black families car in an all black neighborhood, he's probably a "cracker" I am saying that these types of things will always happen "got robbed by a dang mexican" "they are all criminals!" I am saying that not all super Alt right fanatics are inherent racists, some devils advocates, but not racists, I am saying whats perceived as "racist" is getting ridiculous, white people without any black friends are gonna need to go make one simply because it would be racist not to have one at the wedding. lol

I think condemning people for being racists over bogus oversensitive reasons,  is really really counter intuitive, and you said you believe it needed addressed, Threatening supremacists need addressed, casual racism, is just a heart beat in a democratic society.
