In my opinion I just stay off it, I cannot be bothered with things like REDDIT and 4CHAN I am just too lazy, also I find it quite gross, they can do it along as I cannot find it! Thats my rule!

I've been there a few number of times, and I have to say it's clustered and disorganized beyond epic proportions.

You are right, throughout most of the times being there, I've noticed a a lot of furry type content.

I do find it strange how bronies began through 4chan though,..

Anyway, I personally like it due mainly to its unrestricted nature. As of the last couple of days, though, the board's janitor has been going apeshit and deleting every thread in sight for no real reason so it's going downhill fast.

I'm sure there's a lot of nice people that do use /mlp but it's just got that 4Chan reputation about it. I've dropped into /mlp been a couple of time during my rare visits and it's definitely a lot more /e than I'd like it to be.

I hate /mlp/ it is just too over rated. I watched a thread simulators for it and I hated them. I then /mlp/ is not a good Mlp: Fim forums. Never will go to it.

I've looked at /mlp/ occasionally, when someone I know mentions that they're in a discussion and I'm curious about it, but I haven't found anything there to make it worth staying.

 

While I can see the advantage of that style of discussion system for certain topics, I get pretty much the same experience by joining certain live-streams. And those I usually get interesting music and/or videos along with as well. So, advantage to live-streams.

I hate the /MLP/ board, mainly for the fact that it is full of perverts, unintelligent discussions, Rule 34 ( what do you expect, it's 4chan) and random shit about why Alicorn Twilight and Equestria Girls is ruining the fandom.

 

I keep my distance from this board so I could keep my sanity.

Like many others, when I first started getting interested in the show, I kept seeing 4chan referenced in connection with it. I came away from there convinced I would never want anything to do with this fandom.

 

Thankfully I looked a bit more and found you guys-and have spent many enjoyable hours in your company since then.

I still go there daily. And I like it there. The whole reason I joined the fandom was because of 4chan. The pony threads on /b/ during season 1 got me interested, and I figured that since I like cute things, if I gave the show a shot, I'd end up liking it. So I did, and here I am!

 

And while I admit, some of the threads there are pretty gross, you just have to report the porn and ignore what you don't like. And for the "unintelligent discussions" I see some of you complaining about? Read this:

And actually lurk. Comic discussion there is why I'm never here anymore. They get plenty of attention and appreciation there, along with a weekly story time. Here we get a barely active thread with no real discussion.

It isn't THAT bad.

"I want to cum inside X" threads only come up 1/4 of the time. And anything that is more gruesome than that only appears 5/20 of the time. 

So yeah, not that common

 

Yeah, a quarter of the threads isn't that much I guess...

Honestly though, I tend to stay away from 4Chan simply because I see no point.

I love going to /mlp/. Sure it has its clop threads every so often, but it's fun to go there. Thread simulators are shit. They only display shit posting. Don't let thread simulators give you an opinion.

Honestly, /mlp/ isn't that bad a lot of the time. It is just a matter of finding a thread (or threads) that interest you and sticking to those.

 

I like any thread that opens with a picture of Braeburn. I stay in those threads till they 404.

Well although they are pretty common (Last time I went there I saw an entire thread dedicated to it), they aren't that nasty (Until, you know, they start posting the pictures)

I remember the days when there was no /mlp/ and it was all about /co/ and going to the MLP General Hyper Index.

 

While a lot of users find four chan and all parts of it as evil or some form of abomination, I love it. I find it as the greatest source for brutally honest opinions and critiques. When I first began drawing with my tablet I received incredibly insightful tips and tricks from those Anonymous (and few trip users). Some users blatantly said that my drawings were shat, others gave me positive reinforcement, but no matter what I was able to talk further with those Anon and more often than not they explained why it was shit, or why it was great. Some of the fandom's well known artists started on four chan, so surely it's not as bad as most people depict it as.

 

You just need to trudge through enough crap to find the gems.

So I am here today wanting to ask you all about 4chan's board for everything MLP. While most of the community did start from there, it has a bad reputation for clopping to anything and making the community look like furries. Although it is not as bad as most people say it is "Porn isn't that common" its still pretty weird. Basically, they mix up all kinds of fetishes and add ponies to the mix. Some threads do eventually go from humble to everyone insulting each other in a matter of time.

 

So, I wanted to get your opinion on what you think about /mlp/? Do you think it is not that bad, or do you find it disgusting?

 

 

I loled.  Not all furries are perverts or anything. A lot like just normal clean art like most of us here do. P.S. I'm a furry AND a Brony. (Seriously, I don't get the hate between some Bronies and Furries...it's rather stupid and not "loving and tolerating" at all really)

 

But I've been to /mlp/ the odd time....I hate the style/layout of it...it looks unorganized and stuff...clicking "Catalog" Sorta helps...but even then...no good images really...I only go to it to add pics to my MLP picture folder

Just knowing that porn is allowed there puts me off, and I've heard enough stuff about the "evil" community. Well, having a separate section for MLP-related content sounds nice enough, but even there it sounds like a messed up place.

People always over-generalize that place, and I frikken hate that. Yes, there is quite a bit of shit on /mlp/, but that doesn't mean everyone on there is like "I WANT TO COME INSIDE RAINBOW DASH". Even then, those that are like that ain't THAT bad as people think. And, as that anon said, the place gets shit done, even nice things, like that card for Lauren. It even is a really good place to discuss the show.

 

But anyhow, I lurk that place a lot. I post from time to time, but I mostly lurk. I get tons of pony pictures from there, tons of lols as well. I also get a lot of new information on there too. Maybe that place has changed me, but not a lot. Although, I've grown a thicker skin because of /mlp/ and 4chan overall. So, yes, I do like that place. Even if there are things that I don't find good, I still like that place.
