/mlp/, Like or Hate?

So I am here today wanting to ask you all about 4chan's board for everything MLP. While most of the community did start from there, it has a bad reputation for clopping to anything and making the community look like furries. Although it is not as bad as most people say it is "Porn isn't that common" its still pretty weird. Basically, they mix up all kinds of fetishes and add ponies to the mix. Some threads do eventually go from humble to everyone insulting each other in a matter of time.

 

So, I wanted to get your opinion on what you think about /mlp/? Do you think it is not that bad, or do you find it disgusting?

I just find it hard to communicate on. It's a giant clusterfuck of threads, most of which disappear after 30 seconds. I don't really care about the material, but I prefer this site 10,000 times more.

 

Really the only boards I go on are /x/ and /int/.

I spend about as much time on those boards as I do here, it is definitely a unique community. It's a great place to collect and share photos on. I am not sure what keeps bringing be back over there

Eh, I go mainly to build my pone folder and get some news (though I always verify sources, etc). Generally the content doesn't interest me -- I usually find around three "Best pony" threads on page one alone.

 

I can't go on /x/ even in the daytime. I have an overly-overactive imagination so mind-buck terror really gets to me.

I would not worry about the 4chan crap, because I prefer a friendly forum community like this. So, I just stay away from something evil like 4chan.

I'm horribly biased against all the 'chan'-ish sites, as well as this one, and don't care ^^; It's basic and ugly in appearance, there's gross stuff all the time, and while I'm more than sure there's lots of good discussion going on, sites like this one have those same discussions as well, without the previous negative features.

I like this forum ALOT MORE than that stupid /mlp/ board.

It's good for browsing but not so enjoyable for actually posting, I'd say that the same holds true for most of the subboards on 4Chan, though.

I go to /mlp/ for the pictures and the lols. I don't care much for the content; vulgar doesn't begin to describe some of the stuff there. On occasion, I might stumble on an amusing thread or two, but /mlp/ isn't exactly the gold standard for quality posting. A dedicated forum like MLP Forums is much better suited for discussion.

 

Aside from that, the board's disorganized and ugly, and its outdated interface makes it difficult to browse. Needless to say, I'm not a huge fan of /mlp/. I don't hate it, but I don't like it, either.

Just like the rest of the boards, /mlp/ too is filled with a lot of stuff that nobody on this site would ever want to see. To be honest, I lurk around 4chan sometimes and mainly look at the /vg/ (Video game general, just the MH general thread) and the /a/ (Anime) boards. I used to go to /mlp/, but somehow I just lost interest in lurking there because there's pretty much nothing good you can find there.

And as much fun as OC was...most of the people were messed up xD Including me at the time.  It gets to you, you end up adapting and becoming like that.  I don't want to be like that anymore.

I love /mlp/ just as I love all of the 4chan boards. It's definitely a unique place. It's an image board so content just doesn't really matter. You comment on whatever you want to, wether it be negative or positive. Not to mention many-a upcoming artists participate in drawfag threads, which is wonderful. It's just like /b/ but with less gore and porn, yet still as random and useless. I love when things don't make sense, they allow for wonderful entertainment. Sure the board's a bit slow at times but whatever.

 

I don't think the board is that disorganized. I don't get the people who say this. It's not disorganized at all, it's just different. It couldn't have been done better for this type of board. It allows for quick browsing, quick replying. It's fast and hectic. I love it.

 

And oh, you just can't compare /mlp/ with any other forum for a fact that 4chan is not a forum.

It isn't THAT bad.

"I want to cum inside X" threads only come up 1/4 of the time. And anything that is more gruesome than that only appears 5/20 of the time.

I hate the /MLP/ board, mainly for the fact that it is full of perverts, unintelligent discussions, Rule 34 ( what do you expect, it's 4chan) and random shit about why Alicorn Twilight and Equestria Girls is ruining the fandom.

 

I keep my distance from this board so I could keep my sanity.

Do people still frequent ponychan like they used to?? Seems to me if you had an exclusive chan dedicated to all things pony it would make a lot of sense to go there then just a subforum to a site (4chan) that for awhile banned ponies completely.

I honestly don't like it, or 4chan for that matter. I think the layout looks ugly, it's full of trolls, and personally, you could impersonate somepony anytime since you can freely post comments.

 

Also, once you post a thread, it falls into oblivion, like others have said before.

If I go on 4ch, I'm going only for /c/ board. So easy to just download an entire thread's worth of pictures. Honestly, I have hundreds of pictures of the character on the right I can use as my avatar just from one thread. 

 

I went to /mlp/ board once, and it wasn't really a good experience. The people that posted on my thread either were not bronies, or just wanted clop.  While not the worst board on 4ch, it's barely any good.

I really don't care for 4chan. I've been there and honestly it just looks terrible. I've never posted but just looking at the threads it looks complicated. And I've seen many things I probably shouldn't have there. But I don't want to say I hate the site. I've only been there a couple of times, plus I guess its good for getting a bunch of pictures. It just doesn't seem great and frankly, if 4chan were to get shutdown and wiped off the face of the earth, I will be one of the people who would simple go, "Meh. Whatever."
