I really enjoy alcohol. I know a LOT about the whiskey family. I am into wine and beer as well. I like to learn about how things work and all that sort of think. Cars, electronics, things in nature. You could say I just like looking at things and asking "why?"

I guess tea is the only other thing I can think of. I don't know what qualifies something as an obsession I guess. I've taken short term interests in lots of things ..

but ah .. I've always had a wide collection of teas for a few years now; a few flushes of Darjeeling and other orange pekoes, and high quality white teas; pearls and loose, generally pure (not mixtures) are my favorites, though I keep about twenty types on hand at any given time.

A lot of other things really. Just to list a few:

  1. Other cartoons i.e. Gravity Falls, & Spongebob Squarepants (Classic Season 1-3 era only  B)).
  2. Anime: Dragon Ball Z, Gurren Lagaan, Pokemon
  3. Video Games: Mostly Nintendo
  4. Sports: My favorite being swimming
  5. Learning Piano versions of anime openings or other noteworthy video game tunes. I love learning songs on the piano that hit me hard with nostalgia.

But yeah, these are just a couple of my obsessions. Having an interest in more than one thing is healthy + if you're only interest was ponies, then life would be rather boring and dull.

Prime numbers. When you first learn about them in school, the concept is simple. But in reality, prime numbers have got to be the most random thing that I have ever tried to work with.

It's hard to find patterns in prime numbers, yet the concept of what they are is very simple. These two things end up making a very difficult project look plain and simple, and it's the reason why I've been drawn to primes for over a month now.

Video games. (This is my nerdy ego going here):

Usually obsessing over new games that may be coming out (*coughSuperSmashBrothersWiiU/3DSAndMarioKart8cough*) or the Legend Of Zelda series.

My obsessions are rather odd:

Heights

Sky, stars and clouds

Anything related to canines, especially foxes. Did you know they've been domesticated?

Wings and flight (love planes and have studied bird wings way too much)

Marine biology

And of course cajun food

I've said it several times before, but Sonic the Hedgehog.

I mean, I LOVE Sonic the hedgehog.

That dude is my freaking hero, man.

Been a Sonic fan for 11 years. ^^

Still love the blue dude like it was Day 1.

Board/card games. Anything from simple (Sequence, Apples to Apples, Tsuro) to relatively long and complex (Catan, Vegas Showdown, Flash Point). Still trying to learn deck-building games, and haven't committed to many lengthy games.

I've spent many years being active in other fandoms: alternative comics, anime-manga, and video games. MLP:FIM is one of only three or four cartoons that I've watched in the last decade.
