So I was thinking about the Stop the Bats song and you wanna know what Applejack and Fluttershy's debate in that song reminded me of? A political debate. So which side of the debate do you think each of the mane six would support?

Applejack: A lot of people are saying republican because of the southern thing but both democrats and republicans have a rather nasty habit of bullshitting everyone and Applejack is very good picking up on that stuff. So probably either independent or possibly a libertarian with maybe some social conservative leanings but might not like some of the more extreme views of the religious right and definitely wouldn't like a lot of the hypocrisy,

Twilight would be libratarian.

Libertarians do tend to have IQ's which is accurate for Twilight but she is way too trusting of authority to be one. She really comes off as your classic goodie two shoes teachers pet in many ways, not dissing Twilight or nothing but that does fit her to a T. Democrats have long been the college kids party so that is the closest I can think of although a lot of them are telling both democrats and republicans to take a hike. 50/50 shot of democrat or independent.

 

Rainbow Dash: She dosen't even seem like she would care about politics at all so, none.

 

Pinkie Pie: You had her at "party" though in this case I don't think she knows what it actually means.

 

Fluttershy: Probably Green Party, Fluttershy has a strong aversion to violence and though the democrats try to frame themselves as the peace party they have done a really shitty job of living up to that and I think Fluttershy would probably recognize that.

 

Rarity: She is probably the most likely the be republican as they tend to the party that has the strongest reputation for being a rich persons club, but probably wouldn't like the religious right too much. It is also likely that she could be an independent as well.

I don't think any of them would really care about human politics a whole lot. They're used to a monarchy, whereas we're used to opposing parties trying to get your vote.
