Humans vs Equestria, who would win ?

If the Earth military decided to invade Equestria for whatever reason, which side do you think would win the war ? Personally, I'd say the humans would, since they have nukes and stuff we could just bomb them and then launch an attack or something. BUT I would say the ponies do stand a chance since they have access to magic which we haven't.

I'd probably say ponies though since they have the ability of flight, magic, rainbow colored nukes, lazers, mythical creatures that can be 5x the height of a human, Discord's Chaos, Alicorn magic, spells/witchcraft, the ability to possibly whip up various poisons/diseases, and etc..

for flight we have our own drones and aircraft, the only time ive seen a rainbow colored nuke was when rainbow dash preformed it to destroy applejack's barn, which means it requires a living pegasus to pull off, which could easily be shot down with SAMS, lazers could be countered with armor (as in tanks), same with big ol' mythical creatures, size doesnt matter when you can blow it the hell up with an airstrike or artillery. Chaos has us beat there, and for alicorns i think since there's only 3 alicorns it could easily be overpowered, spells probably got us there but it doesnt matter when you have bullets raining on you, and we have our own chemical weapons for poisons/diseases.

 

Seeing as equestria is a very peaceful world, i imagine any army they can muster would be relatively unexperienced, which i guess why the royal guard is pretty crappy. They probably have very under developed military tactics, and their military tactics would probably be something similar to renaissance tactics, which would be very ineffective against modern weaponry.

Are we assuming this occurs on different planets, separated by a portal or something similar? Equestrians win either way, it just changes how long it takes for us to be brutally massacred.

I Say the pony's but just by a LITTLE ... yes we as humans have wmd and super powerful tanks and guns but I would say sine we don't know much on magic and have no way to stop it or any way to prevent it. But magic might go thought all armors and It can probably go thought the ground so you cant even hide from it.

 

If you remember in MLP FIM ( keep calm and flutter on ) they admit they have a "( Rehabilitation )" spell to make him good. So what if celestia cast it on are world and made us all be good to one and other or trick us in killing are self ... ... ( more than we are now ) ... ... but if its just a 1 / 1 then the human but if ponys get to use there magic then hands down the Pony's.  

 

Ps : ( I would fight for Equestria till we won or keep fight till I fall. )

Ugh, of all the politics, of all the corruptions, of all the dark seedier parts of life that we drag on to these forums . . . why must we include this?

 

There have been more than enough Conversion Bureau fics and then some with this very premise. How about we NOT go to war with each other? There is NO justification good enough for either side!

 

This can't be one of those Death Battle-esque, "who would win in a fight", exists in a vacuum, scenarios. The respective sides cover too vast and too diverse a population. It's war, not an isolated grudge match. It covers not just the moment to moment battles, but long term strategy, economic logistics, weapon statistics, the bell curve of individual agency, socio-political climate and action, and so much more.

 

I'm not opposed to the action of war itself, say whatever you will of me, but I can't see humanity collectively declaring war on Equestria or vice versa. So by the logic of not even being able to conceive such an event even hypothetically, I can't give an answer other than there would be no winner and no gain.

Commander Hurricane was pretty trigger happy, even then though, his first course of action was to leave and find a new home, not steam roll the neighbors for their resources. Shining Armor was specifically preparing for an overt military attack on Canterlot.

Commander Hurricane is a single historical figure and every war is different, but we would gain some insight about tactics if there was a battle that was fought.  I do think they probably had war or some kind of major conflict in the Equestria at some point, just maybe not pony vs pony.  Maybe something like pony vs changeling.

I agree. My point was simply that "war" isn't something they simply couldn't fathom (and therefore would be slaughtered, which even then, says human soldiers without a doubt would shoot unarmed and passive people).

 

Back to both our original points though, it is FAR more likely that Equestria and humanity would ally with one another and try to pursue a peaceful route to problems.

If the humans decided to go to war against Equestria, equestria wouldn't have lasted a single day. The onslaught would have been swift, decisive, and unexpected.

 

Not only do we have the advantage of numbers, but every human is naturally equipped with front-facing, focused eyes, and manual dexterity which give us a certain edge in an offensive scenarios. We completely eclipse Equestria on the technological level, with our modern technology vs. their level (i'd say is around industrial-revolution, maybe even early 20th century due to certain examples). Not only that, but on just about every scenario, their military forces, the royal guard, seem to be incapable and incompetant (shown to fail on investigative tasks, failing to provide proper security, failing to react to a full-scale invasion), where as earth societies have developed whole philosophies revolving war, centuries if not millenia ago.

 

If Equestria existed, and we humans have invaded it, the entire conflict would have been grossly one sided.
