If that does not convince her, tell her there are roughly 15 million in America alone who like ponies, same as you.

 

 

Actually I've heard this same story over the years from long time MLP fans; that they're parent got rid of their ponies and childhood toys when they thought the child was to old, or the child was forced to sell their ponies and other toys in a yard sale because the parent made them. So it's not really exclusive to FIM or even MLP. Some parents just sell their kids stuff or get rid of it.

Apologies for the phone quality pic - here's my collection! Only began it for real in August 2013, when I took home a few things from BUCK, and have been growing it.

 

 

I'll list what they are for the benefit of clarity...

• On the top left is the BUCK Legacy card game, the standard 72-pack with BUCK coin and themed manual.
• Next to that are my W1 blind bags of the Mane 6. Took me ages to get Rarity to complete it! Underneath those are W8 AJ and Rarity.
• On the top right is a boxed Fashionista 3-pack. Got this from my parents, who didn't realise I had an identical copy, so I kept it sealed like one of them fancy collectors.
• Underneath the 3-pack and other blind bags are my Brony badges. There are four steampunk badges from BUCK - Pinkie Pie, Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. (I gave AJ to a friend, and misplaced the Rarity one - don't kill me Ghostface!) The other two are larger Pinkie Pie and Applejack ones.
• The comics sprawled out are all IDW. Issues 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 15. I hope to fill in the blanks when Forbidden Planet have them in stock again.
• To the right of the comics is my Elements of Harmony guidebook. This one's my favourite - got it for Christmas. Not only is it a great book in general, but it has signatures from Anneli Heed, The Living Tombstone, EileMonty and Julie Basecqz
• There is a solitary Crystal Fair Rainbow Dash just underneath that. Another small gift from my parents.
• Some Brony shirts! They're not my only ones, though - I have a BUCK 2013 sponsor shirt and a Vinyl Scratch one (which I'm wearing here). My favourite is, of course, the Pinkie shirt!
• Finally, there's a Build-a-Bear Spike plushie. Surprisingly show-accurate, unlike the rest of Build-a-Bear's plushies. :3 Got that from BUCK too, it was cute to have his head stick out from my backpack.

I'm actually heading to Build-a-Bear tomorrow before I go and see The Lego Movie with a big Brony bunch, so maybe I'll acquire a Pinkie plushie to add to this! For now, though, that's my haul. n.n

Among his army are Steven Magnet, Manny, the Cake Family, Nurse Redheart, Gilda, Fluttershy, Zecora, Hoity Toity, the Flim Flam brothers, Lotus Blossom, and Misty Fly. Not pictured are Spitfire and Photo Finish. Looming as the brigade's titans are brushables Nightmare Moon, Vinyl Scratch, and Rarity (the latter two with styled manes by me).

My MLP collection is on my "Fun Shelf." Since the rest of my room is taken over by Transformers, the "Fun Shelf" is where everything else goes. This explains the G1 Transformers, Minecraft, and Pacman toys.

Here's my collection minus my shirts which I'm too lazy to dig out.
The Spitfire poster is handpainted by an artist in the local brony group here in Phoenix. I designed it, and I paid him to paint it. The Lyra and Octavia posters are just prints of other posters done by him.
The Lyra drawing is something I did while at work one slow night. It's done in one go in pen. I'm a little proud of it. :3
And before anyone asks, YES, that is a raccoon with googly eyes.

Oh, and my 3 Magic: The Gathering decks.

I can't post a pic of my collection right now, but I can give all of you a list of what I do have. It's not much but here it is:

• Season 1 and 2 posters from WeLoveFine
• 3 shirts, a CMC hoodie, & a Pinkie Pie pin from WeLoveFine

• Comics: Issues 1-8 & 10. Micro issues 1-3 & 8. I'm up to date with all of the other issues as I now collect them digitally on my computer.
• Brony lanyard from HotTopic
• Rainbow Power Pinkie Pie figure from McDonalds
• Rainbow Dash and Cheerilee plushies from Funrise
• Rainbow Dash earbud headphones that somewhat work

I'll be sure to post a picture once Fanime 2014 is over (Memorial Weekend in May). My collection will most likely increase after that convention  .
