gaming Video games you play before bed

We all know this type of scenario. It is late, probably close to the normal time you go to sleep and you are feeling tired. So while you are out of it, you decide to boot up a game, probably one that is easy to get into and good for a quick play session before doing the whole sleeping dealio.

So I am wondering, do you all have a game or games like that? Are there any games that you like to boot up before booting down yourself?

Me, it can be a few different ones. One of them is the Binding of Isaac, despite its occasional frustration factor. It is actually a good pick up and play game, at least the Greed Mode is.

Another good one is Minecraft. Just boot up the game, mine some stuff, it is a good way to relax.

What I often do, is put on a nice podcast, and drive around in Just Cause 3. There's something about just driving around in that game that soothes me.

I don't usually play video games right before bed. Usually I end up watching some mediocre at best movie (I had to sit through Skyline yesterday -_-). Though when I do, it's usually Borderlands, because there's something so fun about just maniacally running around Pandora with some sort of quirky gun, and shooting everything that moves. Maybe it's my inner sociopath kicking in or something...

Sid Meier's Civilization V. It's pretty relaxing and cathartic for me to set the game on the easiest difficulty and just dominate every other civ in the game, especially if it's been a long or frustrating day. Overwatch, too, but that's more of an "it's too addicting to put down" kind of game for me rather than a relaxing game.

I have insomnia, so sleeping tends to be a task for 3 or 4 in the morning, but when I do play video games before sleeping, it's Minecraft. It's almost therapeutic to let out your anger for the day by blowing up unsuspecting villagers.

Pokemon, It relaxes me.

I'm a player who uses Pokemon that they like over the ones that are effective and I love feeling close to them almost like they're actual pets to me.

Usually I normally Play pokemon black 1 between 11PM-12AM PS/DT and Animal Crossing New Leaf between 10-11PM PS/DT before going to bed. If it's a game that makes me fall a sleep, that would be a couple of apps on my iPad such as RCT touch, Yo-Kai watch wibble wobble, and Plants vs zombies 2. Sometimes it's maple story as well, but usually between 11PM-1AM PDT or less and can't make things at a last min.

I'm pretty much playing games all the time so technically it's the same as whatever I was playing since I got home from work, or when I woke up in the case of my days off. :P

I've been doing this a lot as of late with both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8: Deluxe though sometimes I might be playing way too late for my own liking.

Most of the time I don't play video games before bed. However, there would be some times that I would play a game before bed. Some of those games would be:

- Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, Overwatch, Kingdom Hearts and Pokemon.

Animal Crossing.

Animal Crossing seriously calms my anxiety down, but it's easy to get consumed in it and lose track of time.

I'm totally with @CelesChateau. I love playing Animal Crossing New Leaf or Wild World (yes, I still play that ancient game) late at night. Sometimes I turn the game clock back to daytime, sometimes I leave it at nighttime just to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Speaking of Animal Crossing, I do the amiibo scan with the Magic Lamp daily to get 5 MEOW coupons (all together worth 15000 Bells) right before bed if I haven't done it earlier in the day.

I can relate! One night during the first week with Breath of the Wild had me up 'till 2 in the morning! ^_^

I usually pick up a Mario Party game, or Mario Golf for the Game-Cube... Weird choice but those always make me ready to sleep.

If I'm too lazy to pick up the ol' cube console. I go for Skyrim or Fallout.

And I couldn't agree more with ooBrony, if there's a mod conflict, no chance I'm going to sleep that night...

Civ for me is the worst game to play if I can't sleep. Tried it once, the next thing I knew, I "one more turn"ed myself to 4 am.  Seriously though, I feel like animal crossing, stardew valley or any puzzle game is effective for me; non addictive stuff that doesnt raise adrenaline levels. Ace attorney is pretty great for that too.

Dota 2 is probably one of the worst games to play before going to sleep. But instead of playing against real players, I just play against bots and try out silly item builds. Sometimes I play Civilization or something like that.

It really depends on what I'm actively playing that day. Sometimes it'll be Skyrim, sometimes Rocket League. At this moment it's most likely to be Playerunknown's Battlegrounds.
