I agree with this totally, being fairly new and having binge-watched a lot of the seasons it feels like it will end so fast and then what if the next gen isn't nearly as good?

It also really stinks that they are planning on revamping AJ imo she was a stellar character with great background and everything

I don't believe any of these leaked 'mush rumors' until Hasbro says so. They did say several years ago there will be at LEAST 5-9 seasons. That means we might be expecting more seasons afterwards. I reckon we shouldn't jump to conclusions until Hasbro's next announcement as these 'rumors' can mess with our heads..

From what I've been hearing, the information appears to be real though I'm going to wait for an official confirmation or something similar. This means Hasbro truly is going through a public relations nightmare. Not even the most dedicated of damage control is going to fix this which means something is bound to be changed whether we like it or not.

G5 discussions are super interesting!

- Cutie marks continue for sure.

- big eyes continue.

- faces will not be too human like. Snouts will not be too elongated either. Still not much agreement on design it seems.

- "dark side" seems to be the central conflict of the show or movie. One of the only consistent ideas.

- World for each of three pony types is pretty much certain at this point. Trying to find ways to make Earth pony world more interesting in comparison to the other two.

- Two supporting male characters with mane six is an idea everyone seems to like. But mane six are definitely given higher focus.

Pretty much everything else is very not certain.

G5 character designs are being worked with boulder this months it seems. For the reboot movie set for march 2020 that will kickstart the series.

Everything is fascinating and I am psyched! I am very optimistic about it so far!

But the idea of the show ending in a couple of years?

In the weird happenstance of a dude like me watching a show that's not what it seems at face value and it's just grown from there into something awesome, I've become endeared to you.

I just saw the concepts, but not the actual synopses for Seasons 8 and 9, thank god.

They want to make the second movie CGI? Revamp Applejack's character? End FIM before EQG?

I want to die.

I have consistently praised the show not only maintaining but for steadily increasing in quality such that this year had the best season and also managed the juggling act of EQG and the movie. If Season 9 really is the end, and I really pray it isn't, please don't drop the ball now, of all of times.

As far as G5 goes, I do like most of the redesigns(though I haven't seen Pinkie) apart from AJ, don't like how she's redone completely and looks more like a Rarity clone. As for the end of G4 is concerned, Hasbro still keeps G1 Transformers alive due to it's popularity and I can see them doing the same for G4 MLP considering it's been one of Hasbro's biggest hit's in a while, so I think it's still early to say the ride's coming to the end(assuming it's true)

 

Also read the "leaked" synopses for S8, and now I'm kinda hoping it's true because a lot of the RD focused episodes sound awesome. Also Rarishy, Raritwi and Raridash episodes = Insta-win

Okay this is pretty crazy.  I can't believe just how much MLP content is getting leaked these days.

Apparently season 9 is going to be the final season, which is something that I am okay with, as I don't want the show to go on for too long.

Queen Chrysalis is returning in episode thirteen of season 8, which might make for the show's first mid season finale like episode.

And I am really looking forward to seeing how the whole friendship school will play out,  So far I see a good amount of promise in the season.  But I am making sure to not catch anymore spoilers after this, if any more get leaked.

Also that new intro is really something.

Really bummed out about the AJ situation. Normally i am not that affected by drama like this, but if it's true (and i fear they are) i am extremly dissapointed with the direction AJ takes. In my eyes, she was the most underrated mane character on the show and probably the most down to earth pony in the series, considering everything she did in the show, can be found in any kind human out there in this world. This is really sad.

/mlp/ is currently playing this song on their board and it really fits. I'll miss you AJ

Basically, most people at Hasbro don’t like her as is so they want to change her completely for G5. And she’s the only one getting a complete overhaul

I’m perfectly fine with the show ending with season 9. Knowing when to end the story is part of good writing. Regarding G5...love the art but not sure about the species changes. Will definitely take an adjustment period if true.

Pinkie was originally supposed to be a Pegasus

Being a Pegasus was never an integral part of Fluttershy’s character so they can get away with changing her into a Unicron

Twilight is trickier since being great at magic was an important aspect to her character but they can get away with it by focusing more on her brains and love of reading and knowledge 

As far as changes go AJ’s is the only one I really dislike
