Who's voice do you hear when you read?

Other Conner's voice of course, who else would I hear? Right other Conner? Right.

For some reason I've recently only heard Sean Connery's voice while reading. Dang, that's one smooth voice...

Dammit, now I can't stop hearing Sean Connery. Get out of my head. Dammit.

It doesn't matter what I read, I usually read in the voice of Morgan Freeman ever since I watched Book of Eli it hasn't changed since.

I hear of the voice of the man behind the wall, the seven mouth singer and the echoes of souls lost within the darkness. I bear witness to the verbal manifestation of feelings and doubts crying forth from the belly of my soul to mimic the words of those around me and myself, all in unbridled anguish and rage. I hear the sobbing voice of those I have let down and harmed.

I hear winneh the pooh constipated loudly reading the artical I am in an attempt to save his dignity upon his fellow room mates who can hear his gasly release and physical struggle through the paper thin walls.

Nah. Just kidding. I hear what I perceive to be the readers voice based on my observations of them, interaction or their avatar. So if they are a douche, I hear a whiny little emo boy complaining. If they are nice, I hear a normal teen guy or girl with a somewhat happy standard perk in their tune. If it is a mod, I hear a frustrated egomaniac who believes he is Jesus, even if I like said mod and believe he/she is competent and are not egotistical in any way.

I found a YouTuber that's just like the voice in my head. Well, at least, the sound in his voice is.

Combine this with the tone of speech TheAmazingAtheist uses, and that's basically the voice in my head.

Unless it's caps lock, in which it's just a mash of 2486729468 peoples' voices put together into one. :w

Twilight Sparkle, when reading news or intelligent-type writing.

If reading dialogue, I make up the character's voice.

For forum posts, it typically varies depending on my impression of their writing style/avatar.

Did you know that humans can read much faster if they don't imagine a voice? Speaking takes longer than reading, and your mind has to slow down so the voice can keep up. You can speed read if you ignore the voices in your head!

It may sound weird to all of you, but when I read text off the internet I usually hear a soft female voice saying the words. There are times when the voice is different. An example is on this website. I always hear the voice of the user's avatar saying the words.

Morgan Freeman's usually. Unless it's referencing something, then I read it in that character's voice.

I just read a Granny Smith card in front of me and I read it in Applebloom's voice.

I usually hear myself. After watching (a bit much) MLP, I started hearing Twilight's voice when I was reading. I don't read alot, but when I do I hear her voice. Like she were sending a letter to Celestia in my head or something.

I've also heard David Tennant's voice when reading books.

But other than this, or about 3/4 of the time, I hear music, not words. I hear Fallout  music, (recently) MLP Season 1 theme, and occasionally I hear the ODST or Halo 3 themes.

I hear my own voice the majority of the time. I talk to myself a lot when I am alone so that does not surprise me. I will come up with random voices at times, but they are not of anyone, just voices that I will do depending on what the material is, whether it be to match a character or whatever.

Depends.  If it's just a normal dude, I hear my voice.  But if they describe the character as either: A. Female, or B. Having a very specific caricature, then I will make one to suit the character.

BUT, if I read something in Portuguese, I read it in a woman's voice for some reason. *Shrugs*

I don't really hear a voice when I read, unless a character is speaking. In that case, I always hear the voice of said character.

Most of the time, music is in my head when I read.

I generally hear my own voice, sometimes the voice of the character whose words I am reading. I always hear Stuart McLean's voice when reading a Vinyl Cafe book. If I am reading a piece of fiction authored by myself, I either hear Morgan Freeman, Stuart McLean, or myself.

Steven Fry. Him or Rowan Atkinson. I have no clue why. I read all the Harry Potter books hearing Steven Fry's voice and getting a hell of a shock when I got the Philosopher's Stone audio book.

This is a simple... yet very good question and would be more than glad to answer it :). Well when it comes to the voice I hear in my head while reading firstly it comes down to if I know the person or thing saying it. Then I tend to imagine voicing my thoughts into that character or things tone or voice. Or if I see a picture of something EX. Rainbow Dash. I might catch myself thinking in her voice. Ashleigh Ball much. CD. Anywho. If it is just plain text I tend to hear a mirrored voice of myself but in a softer tone. But if there is a boy or girl character in a book and it tells you their traits I attempt to put together in my mind how they would sound like and think the text though in that voice. :P sorry of I was confusing >_>^_^

I hear my own voice when I read stuff...

However, I kinda wish I could hear someone else's voice. Like Victor Caroli. If he were my reading voice I'd never quit reading :D

img-459614-1-005_professor.pngGood news everyone! You will now read the rest of this thread in my voice.

Why would you do this to me...

Anyway;

If its a girl, either Rainbow Dash or the girl I likes voice.

If it's a guy, Morgan Freeman or David Tennant.
