Well, I'm terrible at handling money, so first off let's say that I lost a majority of the amount given.

Anyway, I'd first invest in my terrible eyesight. New contact lenses or maybe even some pairs of glasses would be nice considering I'm five years overdue for an appointment at the optometrist's and I'm pretty much blind when I go out or even at home.

Also, investing in tuition fees and for future uses for my education.

I'd also like to aid my family financially, and of course, donate to charity.

 

Now that the more serious things that nobody wants to hear about are done with, I'd get stuff like:

A new, amazing computer;

As much real world currency in games I play as I can get;

Invest in getting a new internet provider, considering the one I have right now is not all that reliable;

New TV;

New clothes;

Sushi;

Buy every game console although I know I might not even use them;

Music purchases so I don't have to remain a pirate.

Anyways...

 

First off, set aside a portion to pay for personal desires. I don't have a lot of interest in large houses or shiny cars, so a lot of my money would likely be devoted to paying for the latest gaming rigs, games to play (still going to use STEAM's Summer Sales though. Yes, let the hatred flow through you...), and a variety of software. I would likely create a personal library as well.

 

Next, I'd set aside another portion for the rest of my family. Obviously my husband and/or kids and/or any surviving relatives would inherent my personal items, however I would ensure that a) my husband has enough for his own personal desires, b ) my kids would have top-of-the-line educations and services, and that c) the rest of my family has enough to be relatively rich.

 

Whatever is left over I will provide to a variety of sources. Invest in game studios, donate to charity, invest in other charity-like efforts, et cetera.

That thought has often entered into my mind and the first reaction is always the same. I would make sure that everyone in my family (my wife, kids, my mum and dad, my sister, her husband and his children, my brother and his fiancé, and then myself) were all well looked after, I'd buy them all nice houses (not mansions but nice and big enough), I'd make sure that they all had what they need, and then I would move onto wants, once that is done, I will most likely put a lot of it into charities, but also make sure I would have enough to make sure that everyone in my family would have enough to live comfortably.

Put one third into the bank, give one third to charity and family, and keep one third to myself. What I'd do with my personal share is use it to visit Italy, but of course, not without getting a personal translator, visit Japan, and then move into a large-ish house in Britain, because I don't like mansions. After that, I would convert all my money to pounds, and just casually live off it, maybe a little more high-end than other families.
