What is or was your favorite subjects in school?

Nah

Recommended Posts

I'm not incredibly good at Physics, but it's the class I have the highest grade in (I literally got a 100% average last quarter) because I have the most forgiving Physics teacher ever.

"That question on the quiz was unfair, I'll give you that point."

"You turned in your homework 2 days late?  Take full credit."

My worst class by a long shot is History.  I have never taken a History test and immediately afterwards thought "That went pretty well!"  Oddly, I have a knack for always getting A's on French tests.  I'm also good at math, but it doesn't exactly show since I'm in Calculus and nobody does well in that class..  Same goes for my Literature.

That's really all there is to say on the matter.

There's no subject I really do best... Since I have a 4.0 and have always had one, I can't say I do badly in any.

I suppose you could say I do best in History/Social Studies-related classes, as I tend to get good grades in those since's I'm very interested in that subject.

Classes I'm Good at -English, World History, US History, P.E. ,

Classes I'm absoloughtly terrible at-Pretty much any Math Class I struggle in.

But like my old teacher said "Oh you're just an idiot, that's why you're going in the military. To be a meathead and fight for a bad government". Teacher ended up getting fired because she was pushing some weird political ideal on the students...

Computer class would be the most favorite, as it was outrageously easy and you got to game afterwards. Than would be weightlifting (alternative to P.E.) followed by English.

I like most of the subjects in school, the only one I hated was math but my favorite has always been history. History when you think about it is a story, it even has the word story in it. You take away all the dates and textbooks and when you get right down to it what we learn about in history class is about people just like us who were shaped by events in some cases much like what we are going through now living their lives and trying to make as to what is going on around them. And I also loved band especially, especially when I was in the jazz band in high school I made a lot of very good friends had a great time and honed my skills as a musician to the enth degree.

Definetly english.  I was a bookworm when I was little and loved reading and writing.  I was always disappointed that we didn't write more stories.  I loved reading my stories to the class.  Math was ok too, since I was good at it, but I didn't like math teachers or graphing calculators.  Didin't like science much, and hated PE.

I love you.

Band is at the top of the list. What could be better than spending an hour or so playing songs with your bandmates?

Sociology - It's a pretty doom & gloom study but humans are fascinating creatures.

Digital Systems design - It's mostly just logic gate shenanigans but it's simple to understand and we actually got to make some simple circuits using it.

Mathematics, English, and History are my favorites.

I find mathematics to be absolutely beautiful, an artform in and of itself. The fact that we can use mathematics to model the world, both what we can and cannot see, is fascinating.

I love writing and some literature, so I enjoy English class.

History is not only interesting, but extremely important. How can we strive for a better future if we are not aware of humanity's past mistakes, to avoid repeating them? I don't like thinking about horrors such as World Wars I and II, or the Holocaust. But learning about them is essential to strive for a future in which nothing like them ever happens again. Unfortunately, there have been genocides and other crimes against humanity since the Holocaust during World War II. But, I believe that if we not only teach teenagers and adults about these horrors, but instill positive values in people to counter hatred, ignorance, and intolerance in society, one day, these things will not happen anymore.

Lets see my favorite topic in school. Well the most helpful/eye opening course I took was A.P. U.S. History this year. I knew my government was dicks at times, but what I learned in that class took it to a whole new level. I mean my government was practically corrupt from the get go with the formation of Political Parties after Washington's term was up. Then there was the Spanish American War which started after we "accidentally" blew up one of our ships and then blamed it on a Spanish mine. I just keep thinking about how many times I've been told that "America doesn't start wars", which is complete B.S. Then all the lying that the government has been doing for the last half century for sure, like forging our casualties in Vietnam. I am not very proud of my government anymore after that class.

Class was also kind of fun when there was a paragraph that talked about how George Washington's brother almost got killed by British Dragons. (Was supposed to say Dragoons.)laugh.png

I have three.

  • Music. Ah yes, music is and has always been a massive part of my life; I've been told I hit the sides of the bathtub with my fingers at age two, pretending to play the piano. Specifically the composition part of the courses, I'd always look forward to a day with Music on the timetable. I had a curious knack of it, too; Sibelius 5 was so much fun to use and play around with. On top of our three base compositions which counted as coursework, I made about fifteen others afterwards. n.n

I didn't take Music for A-level, though (that's like a British high-school exam) because I wanted to free-lance my piano playing instead of following a syllabus.

  • Computer Science. Taking this one for A-level and it's definitely my favourite. Just like music, computers have fascinated me from a very young age. Computers in education had mostly just been about Microsoft Word and the like, up until my A-level course. It's just been so amazingly interesting and fun - our teachers are so much more engaging because it's that subject that is overshadowed by the big-wig subjects like Maths and English. Our lessons are always a laugh, programming is incredibly appealing to me, and learning the biology of a computer system is endlessly fascinating. It almost doesn't feel like school - it feels like something I'd do in my spare time. :)

Also, our Computer Fundamentals teacher plays Starcraft :D

  • Religion & Theology. There's two parts to this course; New Testament, and philosophy of religion. While I love both, philosophy of religion is nothing more than a top lesson for discussion. Things such as physical contingency and the psychology of religion, learning more about how humans play on the environment around them and why things such as religion manifest in the same way, is another really enjoyable part of school for me. I love the Cosmological Argument; first thing we did in the course, and my thirsts for discussing intriguing ideas such as solipsism and infinite regress were instantly quenched. Add to the fact that my teacher is honestly one of the greatest teachers anyone could have (smart, funny, knows how to make a lesson interesting) and I can't help but also look forward to every philosophy of religion lesson. n.n

Y'know, I actually god damn love school!

Nah, I'd probably say it's anything under the umbrella of Biology. Especially dealing with the human body and its functions.

Indeed.

History, Philosophy and German (native speaker). I always liked to be able to surprise my teachers with the connections between those three that I could bring up.

My favourite subjects are ones that I find easy or engaging. I like Geography, Chemistry, Astronomy, English (but only the creative writing part, I also like it when we read proper books not the paper thin excuses for stories that we read). Despite the fact I have a love of computers, software, hardware and all that I really dislike my ICT lessons, we rarely learn anything useful, the most useful thing we have learnt to use is a spreadsheet and database. We can't learn programming or coding because there's only a few students out of the whole school that would want to learn it. I also dislike foreign  languages, which for me is German, because I'm too set in my ways so to speak, I'm too English to learn German and speak it fluently.

I'm in high school right now. My favorite subject would probably be chemistry. Physics takes a close 2nd, math in 3rd place. Sometimes I like to say they are all tied, but I think the order I listed is more true than that statement.
