Things You Dislike About the MLP Fandom

People who hate on non-bronies. It seems to happen fairly often. If they don't like ponies, that's fine, just leave them alone about it.

What I hate most are threads where people talk about things they hate in the fandom. -_-  The subject's been covered so many times before I just don't see how it's necessary to do it again...but fine, grimdark and gore. I avoid it but I have nothing against bronies who create it or like it.

There is only one very, very, very, tiny little thing about this fandom that I absolutely hate and despise with the burning intensity of 1000 suns: the alicorn hate.

And not just the hate for alicorn OCs/ponysonas, but also the hate that Cadance, Skyla, and the theory of alicorn Twilight got. (Although thankfully Skyla was a minor thing and didn't receive as much hate. Most people don't even remember the toy anymore.) The latter hate of which I've seen an annoyingly sharp increase over the last couple of months. Specifically due to the whole fake rumor of Twilight becoming an alicorn.

Yes, people, because Twilight growing a pair of fucking wings really does mark the end of the goddamn world.

Besides that, very little else annoys me: Rule 34 (I don't mind if people like it. I just get all itchy and icky when I stumble upon it via search engines. XD But then again, that's what adblock is for~), and the "love and tolerate" thing (I don't care if people follow it. Just don't expect everyone else to follow that ideal. ...And no, I do not follow it. For proof, see above.)

Clopoing. Any pictures "art" or clop-fics. The innocence of this show is one of the most appealing thing about it. I dread showing suggesting anybody to look up MLP in a search engine for fear that they would come across this smut and think that's what I'm into or that that's why I like ponies.

how everyone goes "love and tolerance bro", them start bashing each other for liking different things, like gore, clop fics, etc. This doesn't apply if you simply don't like it, only if you say you hate it and it shouldn't exist. Everyone has their own interests, and every one of those should be respected!

Also, I dislike gorefics that are just for shock value. (ei: Cupcakes, SAM)

 

However, I am a fan of the horror genre, so I like the psychological horror fics and stuff like Slendermane.

I really don't care for r34 and  horrible gore pictures/fanfics. I'm fine with shipping, but there are some awful pictures/fanfics out there that probably shouldn't of made the web. Though you have to acknowledge that this is going to be in almost every fandom, and you learn to just deal with it.

Well here is my addition IMHO, i don't like the gore fics, clopfics  grimdark ,R34 and everything when other people take thing too personal and when people hate on Alicorns i feel as long as they dont suffer from from the i am god syndrome i think its fair.

Hmm Clop fics don't bother me really because I never read them and they never seem to show up in the community as a popular story.Gore fics I could care less about honestly cupcakes didn't scare me I the slightest because im already use to seeing stuff like that its just ponies with a R rating and that doesn't make it any different than any other gore related works. Shipping isnt a problem with me either unless its not zoopehlia no human x pony unless the human turns into a pony then I guess that doesn't count anymore.

 

 

Even Rule 34 stuff doesn't bother me all that much its just extreme shipping essentially and its not related to canon.universe so its basically there to please people who are into that sort of stuff. Im sorry say what I hate the most about the fandom or rather not hate since that's a strong word rather I dislike it when bronies buy certain pony merch like trading cards or blind bags. Seriously I don't understand why you need those.....To show that your a brony? Just by watching and liking the show makes you a brony now I can understand pony shirts and plushies but, anything beyond that is really unnecessary companies are taking advantage over your love for ponies.

Well, as bronies, we shouldn't necessarily hate anything. However, I dislike clopfics and the self-proclaimed "bronies" who get off on them. In my opinion, if you clop, you're not a true brony. I'm not bashing furries or anything. Everyone is entitled to like what they like and I respect that. I don't like shipping either. I know many bronies who do. Gore fics are fine with me though. I prefer reading about Rainbow Dash getting murdered rather than AJ applying honey to Pinkie's *****. No thanks.

The fanfiction is what I have a problem with . But me being a dramatic reader sure I may love the grimdark that lets me say im slicing your intestines open  Sure I enjoy moaning to a microphone and all that because I find it a bit akward when someones listening to me describe it. But I always have to question the sanity of those that write these fictions. Shipping isn't much of a problem because I find any love story no matter how ubsurd to be a nice thing. Because love in general even if grotesque is still a blessing. <.< one I may never find anyways. I take it apoun myself to put myself in the shoes of those in love.

 

Sure all the damn porn is annoying but Its still art work.

Anyway, what I dislike about this fandom is people who constantly try to divide it. Live and let live, if you don't like something, just ignore it completly.

Aditionally, we are now saying who is and isn't a real brony? Really, how far we've come in such a short time, we are a fundamentalist church now, what do you know.

There's not really much to hate about this fandom. Actually this fandom is one of the most kind, and fun communities I've seen (besides Pokemon). The only things that kinda annoy me are:

 

~Repeated memes that kinda get old real quick

~Horrible shippings

~People agreeing on certain opinions just because the fandom says so 

 

That's about it. Otherwise, we're pretty cool about stuff. I hope it stays that way. Although I personally don't like those scary fanfics (Cupcakes) I'm not gonna start yelling at those bronies. Hey, if that's what they like, then so be it. I'm not gonna ruin what they like. As long as they don't rub it all off in my face.

Here is an example of brony behavior I find extremely annoying.  This is a cute video, but by crediting the original music used to make it, the Youtube user who uploaded it has caused some unintended consequences.

If you go to Youtube and read the comments, you'll see that 2/3rds are from bronies. Now what compels bronies to come and leave spammy comments like “The CMCs brought me here” and “SWEETIEBELLESWEETIEBELLESWEETIEBELLE”? That is ridiculous. This music has absolutely nothing to do with MLP in any way, shape, or form. When vidoes are made for other TV programs, I rarely see their fans spamming original, unrelated songs. If you look up Take On Me by A-Ha, you may find an occasional remark about how “Chris (from Family Guy) brought me here.” But not to the extent that we see bronies leaving comments where they are unneeded and unwanted. Talk about attention whoring.

I really hate the fan nicknames that fandom gives to the background ponies. It's like they come up with the first thing that comes to thier head and just leave like that. Like Derpy, she's name after something that gets old after an nour. And speaking about Derpy, I really hate it when people procliam her as the fandoms repersentive. Yeah, no. I never asked for Derpy to be my repersentive. In fact, I never asked for repersneitive at all, I'm nothing like Derpy. Sure I forget things but that's because I'm ignorant not because I'm a klutz. When people take the fandom too seriously. You shouldn't devote your life to a TV show -- ANY TV show -- especially one that's only been around for a few years. There's a balance between liking something and obsessing over it, and I think that some fans cross that line.

The one thing I dislike are the cloppers, those who post around what pony they wanna have sex with. It's just downright disgusting and makes the mlp fandom look bad. I seeit a lot on YouTube, I spammed this one guy who just wrote written porn.

I personally find cloppers a bit odd because I watch this show with my young nieces and I see little children like them reflected in the characters at times. 

 

Not enough to make me flame or hate cloppers, just enough to make me avoid any and all clop art or fic.
