Where were you when 9/11 happened?

I was in Muscat, Oman and I was in the TV lounge with my parents and I was making lego towers after the first tower fell. I looked at the TV screen and I saw the second tower falling after the plane crashed into it and I just got really excited and I said, "TOWER FALL DOWN!" and then according to my dad, I made a lego tower and I knocked it over with my hand making plane sounds.

Yeah, not something I'm proud of.

I was about 1 year old? 2? I don't remember and I'm to lazy to calculate. But I was probably asleep or something..

I have no idea, it was so long ago. Depends on when it happened I guess. If it was between 6am and 2pm on a weekday, I was probably in school, and if not, I was probably playing runescape.

I was at school, someone came in with a tv and we watched the news....
I don't remember much of it, just remember seeing a lot of smoke and fire and the teacher looking distressed, but didn't understand what was happening exactly
I got it was a plane or two (couldn't tell at the time)
My little innocent little mind assumed the pilot just lost control at a bad time and place
So was confused why everyone was making such a huge to do out of it, yeah lots died, that's sad, but what I knew then was that lots die every day so didn't get it's importance

I was in my third grade class when the event initially happened. I don't remember them bringing in any TV's or showing us anything I also don't remember if I was sent home early that day or not, I remember my mom was crying when I got home, and seeing it on the TV at home. But I was a stupid 8 year old that didn't realize the importance of the event so I just went to my room and played video games.

That joke does sound a bit disrespectful. Not being a bit SJW or anything. But this is quite serious, also, it's quite morbid, how about, where were you during the Olympics 2012 opening ceremony instead?

No, you don't understand. I was like really young back then. I could barely speak but I knew how to say 'Building fall down!'. I didn't even know the event was real.

I was only a few months old when it happened so I wouldn’t remember.

My mom has told me I was in asleep in a baby swing and she was in the middle of folding laundry when the emergency broadcasts came on the tv. Scary.

I was at school 4th grade I think..I didn't pay too much attention to it other then heard the announcement being made about a bomb or something. And that we all have to stand to sing the anthem. As most kids at my age, I was pretty much apathetic about it anyways.

I was in 3rd grade at the time. I was getting ready for school when it began, and I remember watching the coverage during class. It's a moment I'll never forget, nor will thousands of other children whose innocense was robbed from them.

My family and I were just starting the first day of a vacation that day. I was very young, living in the Midwest and we were heading up through Missouri toward Kansas City to see a baseball game. By the time we were about two hours into the drive, we noticed all the flags were at half-mast, and there were no planes flying (amazing how much you notice when you’re little). My dad turned on the car radio and we heard a lot of disjointed snippets of news out of context, reporting things like “the second tower coming down,” and “planes crashing.” We didn’t know what tower they were referring to, or what planes had crashed until we got to our hotel and the news was playing on the lobby TV.  That’s when we found out there were simultaneous plane crashes at the Twin Towers, Pentagon and in Pennsylvania. A lot of the footage was pretty graphic and the person at the front desk was saying we were going to go to war. It was pretty horrible, especially when more of the details came to light. Everything was closed too; all the stores, the baseball stadium we were heading for, everything.

I wasn't even alive at the time, as I was born not long after the event.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
