Do you want the mane 6 to find their special someponies like Twilight getting together with Flash Century or Cheese Sandwich getting together with Pinkie Pie or do you want the mane 6 to stay single

I would really only go for that if it's a natural progression of their character, and if they have some sort of chemistry with them. Otherwise, they're better off single without being rushed into anything.

You mean Big Mac and Sugar Belle? Yeah, but please in small doses. This is still meant to be a show about Friendship and Life Lessons more than romance.

I personally think any big romance stories that can be delved into have a better chance in fan works than the main show.

I think it would be best for the mane 6 stay single by the time G4 comes to an end.

Having one of them end up in a romantic relationship would cause too much drama within the fandom, that I really don't think would go over well.

Hasbro don't really have a good track record of making significant others for their characters or pacing out good romance. For Every Sugar Belle and Timber Spruce, there's Flash Sentry and Trender Hoof. For every Bright Mac and Butter Cup, there's Cadence and Shiny.

I'm also guessing friendship and romance are two different things but wouldn't you have to be friends first then it could come to dating then marriage

It would definitely feel rushed if it was done at this point in the show's life, because, honestly, it's probably gonna end in about 3 seasons, but maybe not since it's Hasbro. Anyway, even if they did all find mates, they would be terrible and we'd probably end up with a Fluttercord situation for all the mane 6, and I thought about what NathanW200 said about a Cheese and Pinkie possibility, but since Weird Al is hard to get to do a role, at least by what Hasbro said, and since he would have to be in there for multiple episodes, it just wouldn't work, which is probably a good thing. Also, there would be a huge disturbance within the fandom since most of us have waifus, so it wouldn't be a great choice either way. To be completely honest though, I'm fine with whatever as long as Twilight stays single, seeing as how she is the best pony after all.

Personally, I wouldn't want to see that. It wouldn't add too much that weve already seen in other media. Not to mention, no matter who goes with who, it will annoy a large amount of people. Remember Twilight and Flash Sentry? That caused a storm of hate (although that was mainly due to how 2-dimensional and rushed it was).

If they do plan to give someone a relationship, they need to throw in some new and original morals in about it.

Though I'm pretty invested in Starlight and Sunburst, I love their relationship or friendship or whichever word you'd use.

Though I think people like to see them free so they have some sort of perceived "connection" to them, I think?

Not always. With me yes. I was best friends, then fell in love, then got married. It's not rare, but just meeting someone and then dating is a bit more common. The friendship route takes time to build, and we simply don't have enough episodes to do that without sacrificing other characters. Other television shows and cartoons do this over several seasons with very few other characters to juggle ... FiM has a lot right now.

Amen. I agree that this is not a show that should have a lot of romance. It just doesn't fit with the show and it's themes. Nor do I want this show to be romantic. I think it's best to leave all that to the fanfic writers, as @WiiGuy2014 said.

I wouldn't want the Mane Six to be involved in any romance because at this point in the show's run, it would be weird for them to suddenly want to find that special someone when it should have been dealt with a lot sooner. Would Hasbro allow it? Probably as it would mean more profit for them but it would go against what the show stands for.

Show have so far demostrated great effort not to be yet one more stereotypical, mass producted and predictable "girls like pink and romances" -fairytale. I would be truly disappointed if all this hard work would go down the drain because main cast would be hastily written to some kind of "forced marriages". Not only behalf of all poor bronies, whose beloved ships would sink, but mainly because girls deserve better than this kind of patronising "meet a boy and live together happily ever after" nonsense.

Nothing of the sort. What I'm saying is, since MLP is initially made mostly for little girls and have so far been able to be original and norm-breaking, it shouldn't all of a sudden start to be just like all other shows for said main focus group. There are enough shows and movies about romance and in my opinion writers shouldn't make FiM one of them.

Girls, boys and adults should be free to watch what ever they like. But I'm not a huge fan of the idea that young children are forced to see only one kind of role models in media.

That would flip everything upside down. Eh.. I'm not completely against that, but I think I prefer to keep it like it is now. Everything would change- they'd have even more responsibility- the show would have to handle even more foreground characters.  
And I guess people in the fandom would lose their jobs, because there wouldn't be need to ship characters anymore... and stuff like this.

I believe that's actually true, given the fan-made content. For example "My Little Dashie" would have a different feeling, when the title character (Rainbow) would be 'officially' taken. There are plenty of other fan-made things, that focus on a specific character, where it would feel awkward if they weren't 'free'. That generally could put some limits for fanfics etc., if you know what I mean.  

And well.... For singles it possibly could be pretty disappointing to see their beloved ponies finding that special pony.  Heh, that sounded weird, but you get what I mean.

No, because romance is not what the Mane Six represent for little girls, and it's not something they should be thinking about at such a young age anyway. The fact it's shoehorned into shows and movies aimed at adults is nauseating as is. Especially all the superhero stuff. Why can't good guys just fight the bad guys and save people without some stupid love interest complicating things for them? We can just leave the shipping to the fans. The last thing FIM needs to turn into before it ends is a soap opera.
