I prefer cubed ice, as I don't like chunks of ice stuck in my straw or to choke half to death on one.

Same here. I also don't like crushed ice because then I have sip the drink so I won't get a mouth full of crushed ice.

Also cubed ice is easier to put in a water bottle. Not the bottled water bottles. Crushed ice is easy to spill when trying to do that.

Like, don't underestimate my power man.

ALL THREE

Cubed: For water

None: For any drink besides water

Crushed: When I want a glass of just ice (no liquid) to eat...mostly during summer

Crushed is most preferred by me. But I normally only can have cubed when I want ice.. It's just nicer in my opinion. Ice. Nice. Hah. .w.

I prefer cubed ice, myself. I like to drink my drinks without having any weird crunchy stuff intermixed within it. Better yet, I'll take zero ice at all - that way whatever I'm drinking won't get watered down as the ice begins to melt. :-X

This right here pretty much sums up my opinion on ice. I want Pepsi, not watered-down Pepsi. The only time I use ice is when I get water.

i prefer no ice because i hate watered down drinks.  At many restaurants though even if you ask for no ice they still give you ice because then they dont have to give you as much soda.  I hate that because you end up with your glass being filled with like 80% ice and 20% soda. dry.png

I have sensitive teeth, and the crushed ice is better for me because I can chew on the ice in smaller amounts. The cubed ice is too big, and it hurts my mouth with its coldness... so ya!

Don't care what anyone else prefers, but I myself prefer crushed ice if I have the option.  Since you get a higher surface area than when it's cubed, your drink actually cools quicker with crushed than with cubed ice.  Also, not gonna lie, I really, really, really love chewing ice, and crushed ice is much easier to chew than cubed. smile.png

Addendum: the only drinks I'll ever take with ice are water or pop.  Never would think of drinking an alcoholic beverage with ice (certainly wouldn't want to water it down), only on rare occasions would I drink a fruit beverage like orange juice with it, and obviously never in milk (and trust me, I've seen people do that, including my sister... it's weird. ph34r.png).

within reason, when offered a drink it should be cold already, unless if it was just recently shipped in/bought, or if it's a hot drink. So i never ask for ice as it dilutes the flavor.

The only exception for ice i'll make is when drinking any alcoholic beverages. Ice would help keep me hydrated a little longer, and thus not get as drunk when going out. (I am a light weight so it helps) i have neither preference, i'll take both kinds.

Crushed ice.

It takes up less space, allowing you to have an icy cold drink without having to give up that much drink in order to store the ice in the cup. It also conserves water, and if you forget about the drink, when the ice melts, it won't be nearly as watered down than it would be if you had cubed ice in the beverage.

I prefer no ice due to the fact that ice melts and waters down the drinks. However, if the ice cubes are simply a frozen variant of the beverage itself this is not a problem. Under such scenarios I prefer crushed ice, but still very little ice due to the fact that as a drink cools its ability to bubble is hindered and the flavor is not as evident.

actually neither has a density advantage simply because in a fluid, the amount of volume you have to compensate for is based off of the total amount of fluid that is displaced. a cube of ice displaces the same amount of water as an equivalant volume of crushed ice.

Crushed ice may cool the drink faster but that has the added effect of raising the tempurature of the ice itself at an increased rate, melting it quicker and watering down the drink.

With water, that's not a problem at all, and it's usually not a problem for me with pop either since I drink it fast enough.  Besides, as I said, I don't mind if they get smaller, just easier to chew them then, and again, those are the only two drinks I put ice in.

Crushed, for the sole reason that I tend to eat the ice as I drink.  Don't ask me why, it's just... something to do with my mouth, I guess.  Crushed ice is way easier, since I don't have to wait for each cube to shrink to an edible size and water down the drink, but if I could choose any ice in the world, it would have to be the pellets you get at Sonic.

Aww yeah.  Not too big or small, nor too dense for crunching.  In heaven, all drinks are served with this ice.

That's really all there is to say on the matter.

I prefer no ice.  Having ice in a drink puts a time limit on the drink.  If I wait too long, I am forced to drink a watered-down version of whatever the drink was.  I suppose ice in water is fine, but I'd rather remove the ice from the equation entirely.  Plus, accidently swallowing a piece of ice is a bit uncomfortable.  Ice just complicates things.  I don't mind room-temperature drinks anyway.
