This habit of screwing with Spike as a character is really getting old. I wish that they'd make up their minds about whether or not he's the bumbling idiot that he's oft shown as in Spike-centric episodes or the more witty, wisdom-filled and totally capable assistant he's shown to be...pretty much all other times. I did like the interaction between Ember and Thorax, and the Derpy and Lyra/Bon gags were a nice touch.

How would you react to the Mane Six getting colt friends?

Oh boy. With a library rapidly approaching 10,000 songs, picking even a top 20 is difficult, especially if I want to avoid band repeats. Here goes though... Scar Symmetry - Ghost Prototype 2: Deus Ex Machina Disarmonia Mundi: Ringside Seat to Human Tragedy (ft Christian Älvestam) Celldweller: Eon SR-71: Last Man On The Moon Solution.45: Heavy Lies The Crown (Yes I realize that three of these feature the same vocalist. If I extended this list to 20 or even 10 there'd be a lot more variety, but Älvestam is easily my favorite vocalist, ever.)

Pretty much this. Having met and interacted with a number of show talent for MLP the one thing I hear most often regarding fans is how they often forget that they (the show talent) are people too and get way too caught up in their semi- (or full blown) obsessions for whatever character or writer, thus kinda ruining the experience for everyone. -
Crystal Mountain Pony Con in Salt Lake City has been going for a few years and, until this year, had steadily climbing attendance. I could see that con going for a few more years as a more centrally located event. As much as I enjoy working for Running of the Leaves Con in Denver, and as convenient as it is to have a con nearby, I honestly can't see it surviving for more than another year or two given how things have been going each year.

Cute indeed. They do make for an interesting pair.

Could Rainbow Dash Influence You To Partake In Sports?
zenith32 replied to leonbrony17's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Eh. Despite being my favorite of the mane 6, she'd have to practically drag me out of my house every day and be a good sport about it (something she's rarely seen doing). Between work and other obligations, I just rarely have the time, energy, and motivation for sports or working out, even though I know that needs to change. -
Given that Discord is simply the embodiment of chaos, and that chaos is inherently neither good nor evil, I don't really see much argument in calling him a villain. Sombra, at least in the show, seemed only interested in the Crystal Empire and even then, only enslavement and total control, not destruction. Nightmare Moon only wanted eternal night...sure the lack of daytime might cause some havoc, but there's ways around that. Chrysalis failed in her bid to take over Canterlot initially, and even in her second assault only aspired to rule Equestria, not necessarily destroy it. As mentioned over and over again, Starlight never caused any destruction either but only caused Twilight to witness alternate universes of Equestria had events taken a different turn at a crucial moment in time. Tirek, in my opinion, is the only major villain to have shown real interest in legitimate destruction and nearly destroyed the whole of Equestria after consuming its magic, so he gets my vote.

general media What is your favorite place to go in your city? (with images please)
zenith32 replied to Ginger Ale's topic in Media Discussion
Longmont has a number of wealthy and beautiful neighborhoods. My favorites are the Fox Hill subdivision on the east side and Prospect New Town on the south side. -
I've loved the idea of a DJ character ever since she made her debut and the little nods and cameos she's had since then are a fun 'where's Waldo' type game I like playing with new episodes, but I gotta say I'm a huge fan of what they've done with her EQG counterpart, especially with regard to Rainbow Rocks and the first short it got.

One of the more interesting characters to come out of season 3, and a near perfect foil for Dash as a character. Personally I'd love to see her come back and get some more development (that flashback this season to her and other prominent pegasi ponies as a filly was cute but did nothing to really further her as a character). She certainly has the potential to be a really good support character.

Is Starlight going to be an alicorn?
zenith32 replied to Skyethepony's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
At current point I really hope that she never does. She hasn't done anything to deserve it in my opinion and making her an alicorn at this point would feel really fake, shoehorned in, and would seriously cheapen all the work that Twilight had to go through in order to become one. Maybe in the future I'll change my mind but as of right now I really hope she doesn't. -
It is rare that, in a show like this, meta references fit in with the episode. An episode filled with meta references, and almost nothing but...it's an interesting first for the series. I don't dislike the episode, and it is a fun episode in a lot of ways, but it's unlikely to be one that I go out of my way to watch very often.

Most of my favorite episodes are ones that heavily involve side/background characters, and this episode not only introduced a new character quite well but also gave some really neat interaction and background to three recurring background characters, which is something I always approve of in shows like this. Also got some nice background history for Twilight that has otherwise gone more or less unmentioned even now, 2 seasons later. I approve.

I LOVED this episode! My only complaint is that 22 minutes was simply not enough for everything it had. I've always loved it when side/background characters get some attention for a change and this episode, being almost nothing but that, became an instant favorite. I haven't watched too many episodes over the last few months but this is one I definitely keep going back to.

Longmont, Colorado. Overgrown commuter city with terrible roads and overpriced homes. Can't wait to leave.
-
Longmont is kinda weird. It has a population of nearly 100,000 but because it serves as a commuter hub to nearby (and bigger) Boulder, Fort Collins, Greeley, and Denver, Longmont has very much a small town feel, but that is going to change pretty soon as this entire area is one of the fastest growing areas in recent years.

I have a high school diploma and completed two years of university at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. Dropped out because I realized a business degree was essentially useless and not really what I wanted to study at all either, and currently have no plans to return to college outside of maybe getting a CDL.

Not really sure they qualify as 'quirks' per say but I have an odd fascination and collection of traffic signals and highway signs. Like, to the point where I can generally guess what state or region a photographed controlled intersection is in.
