B.B.B.F.F vs. This Day Aria vs. Love is in Bloom
Archangel replied to Titan Rising's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
B.B.B.F.F, easily, This Day Aria came out of the left field and shocked me, but B.B.B.F.F shocked me even more, and was upbeat and catch. Then I heard the Archie remix of it. Holy crap. Second best MLP song ever. Plus, Mythbusters proved it was better to end with a bang. And Bloom is close enough to Boom for me. -

movies/tv Who Is Your Favorite NEW Doctor?
Archangel replied to Master Chief's topic in Media Discussion
When I said subtlety I was kinda mentally comparing the eleventh and tenth doctors. Tennant was a lot more subtle than Smith. -

Using my knowledge of guns and other forms of weaponry, I'd build guns and I'd act like I was trying to befriend the Mane 6, get Twilight to help me (Without her knowledge) give some helpful enchantment to the guns... Probably try to build a few nukes and forcibly take over Equestria. I may love the show, but that doesn't mean I'm not enough of a jerk to take advantage of weak-minded ponies.

Tennant, he was subtle, awesome, cool, badass, and awesome. Like, if Rainbow Dash was a Time Lord, she would be David Tennant. -
We can never have enough SparkleDash. Never.

That... Is all kinds of awesome.

My theory? Celestia isn't a perfect ruler. Far from it, she's not the benevolent figure she poses to be. A tyrant in disguise. The soldiers? With the exception of puppet-heads and figures for the media to focus on (Shining Armor) they are fake, conjured maybe, genetic manipulation, whatever the case may be. The armor hides their cutie marks because they have none. They obey orders without question because it's all the know how to do, they are perfect at not responding to movements and funny motions (Such as RD's attempt to make one laugh or flinch) because they have none. The perfect soldier, a living, programmable machine. EDIT: Or of course, it could be their cutie marks don't match the occupation.

Princess Luna or Princess Celestia?
Archangel replied to caesar15's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I prefer Cadence. Luna, she's been out of the loop for far too long to rule properly, the only thing she seems to be able to do right is warfare, she seems to know a lot about that. Cadence also seems far younger than the other two, there's... something off about being ruled by a millennium old pony. Something in the way Celestia acts just strikes me as more of a benevolent tyrant than a wonderful leader. And while I couldn't fine the exact quote, The Doctor says "Sometimes I think a Time Lord lives too long." He also talks about how all it takes is a long life and suddenly you can kill anything without regret. Maybe I'm looking into this way too deeply. But everytime I see Celestia, I think she has lived for far too long, or at least been in power, for far too long.- 146 replies

I've always liked the idea that there was "everypony" and "everyone" in Equestria. While "everypony" would be used most of the time, saying that in front of a griffin would be considered rude. So maybe Equestria never really developed a need to say "in-person." So when they do need to use it, they say "in-person" because it's all there is. At least, that's how I look at it.

Thoughts on Spike x Rarity (Sparity)

I have to say Flutters is the best of these two ponies. Pinkie, ugh, she didn't really strike me as more than a one dimensional character until the Baby Cakes episode. Until then I liked her less than Rarity. Plus, if she threw a surprise part for me in my home without my permission, I'd probably yell her out right in front of the crowd. Fluttershy is soft spoken, quiet, and meek. Some of my favorite characteristics in a sentient being.

Applejack. Applejack is strong, practical, and usually knows what she's talking about, or prefers to stay silent otherwise. (Zecora's case excluded) Rarity on the other hand, is a fashionista, or whatever. I dislike fashion, I'm a practical guy, all my clothes and just about everything I own has some practical use to it. I have few items I have no reason for having other than "they are cool." This goes against everything fashion is. So obviously to Rarity, "They are cool" is reason enough to spend hours working on something. That in the end, will have no practical benefit for anypony. Although I will admit I would like to own a suit, it would need pockets, and would be used to impress someone to get something. So still useful. But being fashionable in everything one does is just, bleh. People and ponies who feel the need to be fashionable always strike me as attention starved. Oh, and Rarity is a drama queen, I hate drama queens. I cringe whenever Rarity starts to raise her voice.

Who's a worse pony? Trixie or Diamond Tiara?
Archangel replied to My little pwny's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
There is too much Trixie love in this fandom. I think it's safe to say I dislike Trixie. Anyway, I think Trixie is worse because she's a scammer, a liar, and a braggart. And while Diamond is a stuck up, rich little pain in the rear, at least she's still a foal and might grow out of it. While Trixie is probably never going to change. Despite all the fanfics saying otherwise. I just don't see it happening.- 300 replies

first episode you watched and why you became a brony/pegasister
Archangel replied to thelonebrony's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Before I became a brony, I knew nothing of the show. I saw pony pictures here and there, but it was in it's infancy. One of my friends became really sick one week, and for some odd reason watched the entire show. His brothers and I teased him (nothing harsh, just light fun poking) about periodically. To this day he has never watched Season 2, he stopped after the first. He thinks it's really odd that older guys like the show. I can see why, as his family was forced to watch the crappy generations of MLP for their little sister. Anyway, for the longest time it kept nagging me (I'd seen one episode of a prior generation) why would a guy watch MLP? What the heck? So I thought, I'll be hypocritical if I don't at least watch one episode. They've made fun of stuff I watch without trying it. So I won't be like that. I decided to start with the first of the first season, as the first season was all that was out. I caught a bunch of little stuff I thought was cool, like Nightmare Moon's head in the hourglass, and I could really empathize with Twilight's "No time for friends" thing she had going on. Then the episode ended on a cliffhanger. Now this entire time I had known that it was a show made for little girls to sell toys, so the fact that the story was good enough, and long enough, to warrant another episode impressed me. I convinced myself to finish the two-parter. Then I told myself, "I have to see what a normal episode is like." Of course, that was just an excuse to watch more. At that point I was hooked, and the rest is history. Man I didn't mean to ramble on like that. Sorry. -
