What's your favorite mythological creature?

probably one i haven't studied on, the elusive chimera.

Mine too would be the Phoenix. I mean you're a flying, flaming bird. Dragons would be my second, as they have great power and also deal with fire.

For me without a doubt it is dragons, they come in many different shapes and sizes and are both extremely powerful as well as intelligent in some cases even more intelligent than humans. There is a very good reason why dragons were worshiped as gods in so many cultures.

I've also got a soft spot for the Nuckelavee, as one of the most insane creatures from Celtic myth *ever*. A skinless cyclopes centaur-shark... I know there's weirder stuff in eastern mythologies, but for western stuff, the nuckelavee is pretty much tops for crazy.

I don't know about you guys, but I once heard of this black, long cat that was quite mythological, or at least that's what my Commanding Officer told me. The Puma.

but my favorite is probably a chimera. if you think about it, discord is just a very specific type of chimera that's why he's my favorite.

I've always loved dragons above all. I really love how they're depicted in all different ways, and the whole concept of them is really epic.

I kind of like the idea of the Hydra myself. I like hydras for pretty much all same reasons I like dragons, but you know what they say, many heads are better than one! The only drawback is that it can't fly, but the head regrowth is pretty awesome if you ask me.

I love the pheonix, pegasus (duh), hippocampus, dragons, hydras, satyrs, dryads, niyads, Cerberus, etc.

Pretty much ALL the mythological craetures. But I find the Cerberus really cute, if I say so myself.

Mine would be Laelaps; the mythical dog with the ability to always catch its prey. I always found Laelap's power somewhat symbolic of humanity's never-ending search for truth, even though there are some truths that we fail to catch, or, heaven forbid, we find ourselves entangled in some sort of delirium.

They eat crap and spare other creatures so they can continue feasting, which is pretty cute IMO.
