I used it occasionally, and I had some fun times on it. It's completely understandable why this course of action has been chosen, however.

I am sad to hear chat is now dead, I am happy it makes your jobs easier but I am depressed, I don't use the forums often so I doubt many of you will ever see me again. I will be on every day to say Happy Birthday to everypony as normal. Goodbye Chat <3 Goodbye friends ( unless your on skype )

Cause the way some ponies are wording it, and the fact that it was threatened to be locked up if bad behavior continued was mentioned long ago are making it sound like that latter, which I really hope it isn't and that we're all mature rule abiding ponies here.

Chat was often too chaotic whenever I got on, so I never really felt like I had a voice. But when I did get a chance to speak, it was great. At least threads are focus now.

I guess when you put it that way... the mods are right. Chat was an area in which spam and bullshit were posted. And nobody cared about the forums. The whole new member never coming back thing was bad enough normally. Still, had some good times in there...

I am not going to lie, I never liked the chat, I tried to get into it, but there were like 5 different, derailed, conversations going on at once,

I think we are better off with out that chat.

To those of you who think you have "nothing to do" on MLP Forums, I just hope you realize that we are a sprawling website with over 10,000 discussion threads, an active roleplaying community, two game servers, and a deviantART group. There is still loads to do, if only you venture out into the rest of the site.

 

 

 

I am very sad at what happened because chat was a way that bronies can talk to each other and make new friends who are bronies and not feel mocked or made fun of and feel safe and socialize with each other.

 

I don't see anything stopping you from doing all that on the forums.

I already said my stance on the matter previously. Just saying this as a afterwards thing: While the chat might not be around anymore, I appreciate the time it was there, and everypony else should to. But like I said, the chat was a pile of mashed potatoes that was attracting people while the solid gold roasted turkey got cold. That analogy was bad and I should feel bad.

While a fun and nice endeavor at first, it devolved into a incoherent mess of randomness. I stopped joining in when nearly every session broke down into spam and quick moving drivel. I feel for those who utilized the chat the correct way and received help while in the chat as that takes away an outlet for them to seek help but the addition of the help forum fixes that.
