So what is everyone suggesting here?

Deliver it some sort of final blow so it can be put out of its misery (both fandom and show) ? Or still treasure the show because it's important to you?

Right now I couldn't care less if the fandom somehow erected a headstone for its " death" . I only care much about my memories when I've watched the show by myself.

Many trends, hobbies, and so on come and go all the time. Remember Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and Pacman? Pacman is something that has always been around. As of late, Crash Bandicoot and Spyro are two things that have had a comback lately. Why? Because those who loved and adorned it all their lives influenced others of a later generation. Bronism is literally like one of those vintage albums or pictures that doesn't gain their respect until long after its existence. Y'all watch, MLP:FIM and Bronism will be like Winnie The Poo and Sesame Street, Adorned and loved by young folks while admired and revered by older ones who respect and regard the influence it has on the others.

I've heard a lot of talk about what's gonna happen to the fandom after the show ends, with some people saying the fandom is gonna die. After all, the fandom has been in decline for some time now.

But to be honest, I think the fandom will be fine. It's not like the fandom is gonna magically disappear after the final episode. That's not how fandoms work.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 didn’t have a new episode in 18 years before it was revived, and it still had a dedicated following. Firefly lasted all of 13 episodes, and it still has a dedicated following. There'll still be plenty of fan works years after the show proper ends.

For sure, so long as the demand for content is eventually supplied with quality content, the fans will support it. Even if a franchise has been on an indefinite hiatus for years, it can make a major comeback with something spectacular.

I haven't watched MLP for almost 4 years now (yeah I 'paused' at the beginning of S05), so it kinda feels like the show has ended for me, from some point of view - and I'm here, not complaining. :P

To be honest I won't even notice any difference when it will *officially* end. I plan to catch up with it soon though, it's not like I lost interest after all. :P

The people running Bronycon have announced they're retiring it along side the show and 2019 will be the grand finale event instead of continuing to host it into G5 so things will definitely quiet down.

Awwwwe. But I just asked the fandom to pick me up some ice cream at the store! Damn.

Contraction left with a dedicated amount of G4 fans is what will occur. A star eventually takes on a new form, and never really dies.

Yeah? Why's this news anyway?

Whether people are scared this fandom might "die" or people are telling others to calm down, it's kind of a waste of time. A lot of people are in old fandoms, big surprise. I'm only interested in living in the present and having fun with my friends

when the show ends nothing is gonna happen. time is gonna wash things as always and nobody will notice, nobody gonna care. for when you forget about this, you may be on various new fandoms. maybe new gens of mlp, you would even look back in time and say how bad this show was.

Honestly this to the Nth degree. I mean really this show will live forever on my comic stand and in my DVD collection. So unless somebody is gonna kick in my door the show will never die and the fandom will live on. Plus ya know G5 and what not.

The fandom does not need BronyCon to function. Other conventions will likely rise up to take its place in the future

The brony fandom is not dying is going in a phase and the end of bronycon is not the end of the fandom yes one of the greates con is ending but there always can be another con can raise better then bronycon in the future. if you guy really want the fandom to die let die but stop being so negative be more positive if you don't want to let the fandom die stop complaining over his dead and do something about it to not let die .

always be positive

in the sea of darkness and despair there always light and hope

Never Give up

To be honest, I've seen some things that might point to a slow down, not alot being done recently. But this fandom is huge, world wide and made up of fans, artists, musicians, VAs and so on. With Gen 4 winding down, some may chose to leave rather than take on the adventure that Gen 5 will be. I've decided to put my work back into the fandom, trying to be original, spinning new stories, some AUs and such, and some 3D based humanized art as well. I don't think the fandom is going anywhere anytime soon.

I posted in the is the fandom dying thread and I'll reiterate here, this fandom is not going anywhere. It's made up of too many creative individuals to let it just die off. There will be fics, art, music, pmvs and soo on. This fandom has endured for a long time and will continue to do so.

I don't expect to leave this fandom for a good while yet. I love it too much! I don't feel a need to have constant new episodes to keep me interested in ponies. After all, I'll always have access to the episodes that got me into the fandom in the first place. :squee:

While I don't think that the fandom will ever truly die, its certainly been in decline for a few years now. But if the fandom does end up fading into obscurity many years from now then, I'll always remember a time when Lauren's ponies were queen!

Oh, come on. This is hardly the end of the brony fandom. It's only the beginning. Fan creators will be doing animations and fanfics years from now. There will still be brony cons, merchandise, whatnot. And let's not forget, there's always G5 on the horizon. MLP FIM has pretty much staked its permanent claim in the annals of pop culture.

I have to agree. I’d say that in five years, FIM will start popping in list of fine examples of animation

Dying isn't the right word, unless you mean we're aging and actually losing people because we're dying. A lot of people lost interest (myself included for a while), but they aren't dead to the fandom. They will always remember.
