Don't worry, Brony is completely alright for a girl to call herself. It's all completely up to your preference, if you want to call yourself a pegasister, it's your choice, and if you want to call yourself a brony, it's your choice. I still think the word pegasister is actually cool, but I think we shouldn't divide ourselves by gender. We are all fans of the show, so we are all bronies. Enough said.

It really doesn't matter. Both Brony and Pegasister means a fan of MLP. So really nothing really change by calling yourself the latter. You could come up with a new name for a fan of MLP and it would be the same.

It's a made up term anyway, use it however you like.  I don't like it myself, so I never use it, except of course when referring to people from the old /b/ pony threads (and in that case, I use it as "/b/rony").  I've always found it odd that people need to use a term for themselves to describe what TV show they like as though it conveys an identity

To my understanding, one does not have to be male to be considered a "bro." As such, I'd assume any and all derivatives of the term can also be potentially gender-neutral. However, it mostly comes down to personal preference. Use the term that you like more.

I'm female and I can go by either. I usually use brony, but pegasister is still pretty cute. It may have originally been bro + pony, but brah + pony could also result in the term brony. Plus, I think the term has evolved to just mean a fan of the show.

I like the name, but im for gender equality and when i see that people have a need to seperate the girls from the boys i kinda hate on it. I actually chose 'either' because I'm extremely indifferent toward this sort of thing. :x I let anyone think of me or call me what term they'd prefer because to me, a term, name or title doesn't make me (or anyone for that matter) any more or less of a fan than they already are.  Anyway, all of them mean and 'prove' the same thing, which is that you're a fan in some way, shape or form, right? And I personally believe that that's all that should matter in the end.  That being said, I honestly don't let any term bug/bother me because all I want to get across is that I'm a fan.

Honestly, I never really knew brony referred to females as well until a few months ago.   I've never really heard the reference of pegasisters until a few months back, a friend introduced me another girl who stated "So you're a pegasister?" I was confused at the term. I just thought I liked ponies and being a girl liking ponies is just...I dont know, just being a girl? lol I didn't think there was a term for females into mlp until then. I still haven't accepted either term as being predominate for female fandom, whether we're bronies or pegasisters we're still awesome chicks (and dudes) who love Mlp   And that is that!

I wouldn't really mind if people called me "pegasister", even though I've never used that term for myself before. I usually describe myself as a "brony" because it somehow sounds cooler in my head. :3

 

But I dunno... I've also always been a huge of a tomboy, so I don't really like these kinds of terms that pastes a big female symbol on my forehead (gamer girl, pegasister, etc.). Like it was already mentioned by the others around the thread, I'm all in for gender equality~
