Worst game made

Dungeon Lords.

may not have heard of it, may have.

It was released in a VERY unfinished state, so much so you could literally walk through a door and find yourself outside the world! Mind you this door was intended to have a room on the other side.

Missing content, parts of the game, and buggier than hell.

Had to be re-released some time later but still missing 2/3 of the content it was supposed to have!

you want to talk a mess of a game, give it a shot.. assuming you can get it to work!Dungeon_Lords_Coverart.png

My main one however is Dear Esther. Oh my, thank game was so bad that I'm not sure that it can even be counted as a game! The developers tried to go for this whole "atmospheric" thing but that's not what games are about. The fact you can only move your character around (very slowly as well) just makes it walking simulator and the game didn't even look that good.

I like how people expect it to be some sort of run of the mill game..

its more of a piece of literal interactive artwork, where you find yourself in a strange place with a narrative overlaying your exploration of the island. Not really a game at all by far. TBH its why it was a FREE mod before it was put to sale after its complete overhaul.

Little known part of it is the narrative also changes each time you go through the island, as well as new "events" tend to occur at random.

Its actually very good when looked at for what it was intended rather than expecting some sort of crazed FPS game.

Its not meant to go fast, and allowing run/sprint would've ruined the whole purpose, and caused cut in/out with the narrative triggers, effectively destroying the whole concept. Not to mention the above mentioned "events" would go even moreso unnoticed.

Can it be some freeware game made by an 11 year old? If so, these GameMaker games I used to make would take the crown. If not, I'd say Action 52 on the NES. If you've never heard of it, AVGN did a review of it. I've played it on an emulator. It redefines the word suck.

There are some pretty good Game Maker games made.

There are many more I could show, but Game Maker is pretty good if you know how to use it.

Oh I know, GameMaker is pretty powerful. It's just that when I first got it, I ha no idea what I was doing, and thus I made these god-awful games, which could probably be on here.

The TNA iMPACT! game is officially the worst pile of crap that I've had the "pleasure" of renting within the last 5 years or so.

Not very many wrestlers, match types, or movesets to choose from; awkward controls; AI that frequently zigzags between too hard and too stupid; and virtually no customization options whatsoever.

I swear it was programmed by King Sombra in order to spread hatred, fear, and misery throughout our world.

WWE AND FIRE PRO ALL THE WAY!!!

  • 1 month later...

Well, I can note a few games that I thought were absolutely terrible and an abomination to the gaming industry. I will just provide pictures.

img-1589600-1-DukeNukemForever.jpg

img-1589600-2-KinectStarWars.jpg

img-1589600-3-Diablo_III_cover.png

Duke Nukem Forever, I can totally see being one of the worst...Star Wars Kinect? ...Eh. Never played it...don't have a 360 myself, but the concept seemed okay...I guess. :|

Diablo III? Difference of opinion. I got it for free, when I signed up for the Annual Pass back in Oct '11, so I can't complain. It's got pretty decent graphics, and gameplay seems okay...though I've been more occupied with games on pogo.com and doing the cooking/fishing dailies in WoW. :|

Another game that just never should've been made? Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. That IMO killed the series for me...and to learn, that GTA V is a spinoff of San Andreas? Ugh...(GTA V takes place in Los Santos, which was in San Andreas...or so I read), then there's Superman 64...a superman game on the Nintendo 64. If you've never heard of, or played this game, considered yourself lucky, and blessed...cause this game was beyond horrible.

Has no one mentioned "I wanna be the Guy" yet? That game is the most horrible game ever made. Each screen is designed to kill you in a million different ways. The only real way to beat the game is by playing it and memorizing EVERYTHING in it. It is completely unforgiving and there is absolutely NO ROOM for imperfection. You're not allowed to make mistakes. Couple that with the fact the movement mechanics are terrible on their own, and you have the worst game ever made. And it was deliberately bad. And don't even get me started on "I wanna be the Boshy."

Superman 64.

Oh boy, I have had experience with this game. I rented it twice and wasted two weeks of my life playing it when I was younger. Where do I even begin? First, the controls are the most god awful controls I have ever experienced in a game. Bad isn't even a good enough word for it. Horrible is more like it. Getting Superman to perform melee attacks successfully on an enemy is easier said than done. Having him walk or run anywhere is just bad. Honestly, the only thing I kind of liked was flying. At least there, you had better control of Superman. Not much, mind you, but enough to get by.

Second, I know it's the N64 and all, but even back then I thought it looked bland and just plain ugly. There is nothing going on. Just a some buildings, purple fog, and so few enemies to beat up. Most of the time, you are flying through rings. Honestly, that's most of the game right there. You fly through rings under a time limit, then complete one objective such as protect the skaters, bring the police car to safety, kill a few guys, or something like that. These objectives are not fun and are very short. When you finish them you are flying through rings again.

There are a few levels that don't require flying through rings, but guess what? They still suck. The developers even had the audacity to put escort missions in the game. Think about this for a second. Escort missions in Superman 64. Let that sink in for a moment.

If you think that that is the worst game you have never seen the torture device known only as "big rigs over the road racing". From what I have seen the AI sucked, you clipped through solid objects and you could drive off the map

I'm going to comment only on the games I've played. Extreme Paintbrawl for the PC is absolutely terri-bad, and is easily the worst game I've ever played. Oh yeah, Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis is also pretty awful, and I would consider that the worst console game I've ever played.

Has anybody said Sonic 06 yet?

There are glitches everywhere. EVERYWHERE. It completly ruins your fun...however, once you replay the game, using the glitches is fun.

The plot sucks too.

Nah, but seriously, I agree with that Plumber's Don't Wear Ties is absolutely... Ugh, there's no words for it. It doesn't even qualify as a game, in my opinion. mlp-aseriously.png

I beat it. It wasted more than 200 hours in my life, but I eventually beat it. Just because a game is extremely hard, it doesn't make it bad. it's a challenge.

Speaking of Challenges.

Penn and Tellers 'Desert Bus' was part of a collection of small games on the Sega CD. In it, you play a bus driver that has to drive from Tuscon, Arizona, to Las Vegas, Nevada. Each time you complete the shift, you gain one point. The worst part, is that it's all in real time. The trip takes exactly 8 Hours, the bus only travels at a max of 45Mph, and it veers slightly to the right. If you veer onto the desert dust, you are towed back to the very start to erase all of your points and start all over.

In. Real. Time.

There are no Pauses, no traffic to avoid, only the same boring desert Backround for the whole 8 hours.

Welcome to hell.

Ride to hell retribution. Look it up it's the third lowest ranking on I don't know which console and it's broken as hell. it doesn't make any sense.

I watched Jesse Cox (OMFGcata on youtube) play it and it's just a terrible game.

It does make for a great laugh though.

Either Call of Duty: Black Ops or Homefront.

Against both, both have glitchy AI. They're also very, very similar. Which of course isn't a good thing.

Against Call of Duty, it has a bad, overly predictable storyline, none of the game's settings are tied together well, enemies literally stand there and wait for you to shoot them, the campaign is too short and too easy and the game never lets go of your hand in true casual game manner. That, and it relies on giant explosions and fancy graphics (read: graphics straight out of 2007), generic military action with soldiers that you will never care about personally because they're stereotypical military men with no actual personalities and a completely unbalanced multiplayer with absolutely no redeeming features other than it throwing ridiculous amounts of XP at you for getting a kill, such as 550XP for getting a kill... with a pistol.

Against Homefront, I couldn't even get past the first part of the campaign because the AI bugged out and prevented me from progressing any further. From what I played of it, there are issues with the first gun not spawning, you not really caring about the people in the beginning sequence (although that kid having his parents shot in front of him is really heart-wrenching...) and the game suffers from a severe case of CoDitis - that is, constant hand-holding throughout the game, over-reliance on giant explosions and pretty graphics, generic military action, enemies practically running into your gunfire and a lack of any actual fun to be had.

These two games, to me, represent everything wrong with the modern gaming industry.

Definitely Super Mario 64! Nah, I'm just joking (Okay, even just joking about that made me feel terrible...)

But seriously, I have yet to play a game that I don't like... Mostly cause I just try to stick to games that I know I'm going to like either way.

two others, I just remembered.

The Simpsons The Video Game, and Family Guy The Video Game.

For the simpsons, it had some of the most awful camera controls, and play controls ever. Only real good thing about it, was the animated cutscenes, and even that felt like watching an episode of the Simpsons...wasn't even really funny so to speak. Which kinda speaks volumes about the show nowadays. It has it's moments, but other than that, it's just...not that great anymore. :| the ONLY games released in this franchise, that were remotely decent were Road Rage...and even that wasn't all that great...and of course Hit and Run...which is probably the best in the franchise today.

Family Guy? Ugh...the graphics were awful, and so were the controls...not much else can be said about it. Humor? Roughly the same you'd see in the show itself...and even that was kinda bland and tasteless. :|

Rockstar need to learn how to port a game to the god damn PC. If you're going to make a such a shitty ass PC port then don't even bother releasing it on PC at all. It gets terrible framerates on even high end PC's and the texture pop in is disgusting.

Max Payne 3 redeemed them though, if they weren't a Scottish company then I'd still hate them xD

I don't have a lest favourite game. There are some that I certainly dislike playing, but I wouldn't call them the worst games ever. I'm also not much of a gamer, so as a result there aren't too many games I'm familiar with.

The worst game I've played as far as I can remember would be... Duke Nukem Forever

img-1190772-1-DukeNukemForever.jpg

I rememeber someone actually stole a copy of this game one day. We all had a good laugh, cause nobody in their right mind, would be crazy enough, to steal this godawful game, other than some hormone ragging pre-teen, looking for...certain things that this particular game has to offer.

Though I feel, one of the worse ever made, was Superman 64.

While this is not the 'worst' game ever, I still think this is easily one of the worst ever made. Not because it is broken, not because of glitches or bugs or anything like that, but it is the sheer principal behind it and how un-fun it is. At least for me, ProJared apparently liked it somehow. I actually named this as my worst game of 2014 and this was the image I made just for that:

blogentry-8308-0-29055400-1420046350.png

That game, it is just...nothing. The whole game is based on extreme difficulty that is supposed to be an homage to 'retro games'. The problem is, they concentrated so much on the difficulty that they forgot to make the game even a tiny bit fun. The game has very stiff controls, intentionally. Yeah, intentional stiff controls. This is just one of the many aspects that makes this game incredibly difficult and as a result, incredibly unfun. Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying a hard game is not fun, but take it this way: My brother, who put over 140+ hours in Dark Souls and beat that game, HE did not enjoy Volgarr AT ALL. He said that the game is just hard for the sake of being hard and that's it. He is right and that makes me despise the game, when it uses extreme difficulty and trial and error as a selling point.
