Do you drink?

I rarely drink because I don't like the taste of most alcohol and also because of medical issues. I enjoy wine a couple times a year, but only as a treat. I do have a love of margaritas though, and my mother and I will prepare them during the summer and sit outside under our shade trees and talk. But I've never been drunk till this past year and it was not a pleasant experience.
I'm not gonna lie, it's easy to get drunk if your having drinks with friends. You can feel pressured to drink more, or you can lose track of how many, or ignore your limit because you're having such a good time. I got drunk the first time on my 24th birthday when I was drinking wine with my best friend when he came over to watch hang out and watch movies. I was very hung over the next day, and my mother took the opportunity to tease me and made me run errands for her. She wasn't use to me over indulging since despite my appearance, I've always been very straight laced with my behavior.
My advice to you is to only drink rarely, and then, maybe one or two. Also, never get drunk around people you can't trust. I'm lucky my best friend is so awesome, but I have known people who got drunk and were raped. Rape is never the victims fault, but we do live in a society where people think that it's ok to do that to someone that's under the influence, so I'd just say protect yourself and try not to get put in the position where you can't defend yourself by getting piss drunk
I don't want that to scare you away from drinking though. If done maturely and responsibly, you can enjoy it. But don't feel embarrassed if you don't like it and don't want to. A nice glass of wine or a margarita every now and then is fine.

i have a beer twice to three times a week:

Mondays:  Start of work

Saturdays:  Sundays are my only time off

In the middle: I have at times had a 10 to 14 hour day at work due to ppl calling in sick, its stressful as feck and throw in a  20 min bus ride home...so i will get a beer on days like those...

Nope, because I'm only 14. And even when I become of legal age to drink, I'm never going to unless it's a celebration, party or something.

Not straight, but I like to cook with wine etc. Like today I made an Irish cream liqueur cake. It was a lot better than I expected.

I'm not opposed to having a beer or two from time to time. I've never been completely drunk, but I do like beer. I actually love the taste of a good beer. Not light beer, but beer beer. The good stuff. It's nice to relax with a cold one at the end of a long day.

I'm not exactly 21 yet, but in a few weeks I will be. Next month I'll start buying beer regularly.

Protip: always drink water or a non-alcoholic beverage with your beer. Always make sure you're not drinking on an empty stomach. Follow that and you'll be fine.

I drink on occasion, but its nothing that I make a habit out of. Its all right, in moderation if you decide to do so. But otherwise, if you don't want to experience any of drinking's downsides (liver damage, hangovers, etc.), then don't.

I don't like beers, I prefer mixed drinks. I don't make nice with bitter tastes.

No I dont. I train for sports so it's awful to drink as it hurts your training. But personally I wouldn't drink either. It's just not something I like and because it's potentially damaging to my health and I don't like the feeling so the opportunity cost of not drinking is fine. Personally I think alcohol is such a weird thing. It has the potential to be a perfectly fine substance in moderation but the downsides are so destructive. People need to realize it's still a drug even it's legal instead of treating it differently than illicit stuff

Nope and I don't plan on drinking either. A cousin of mine was killed along with his friends when they were hit by a drunk driver.Though that happened long ago. His mom is still suffering due to it and honestly I don't think I could ever bring myself to drink because of this.

I'm surprised so many of you don't drink. I used to drink quite a lot, though much less so the last few years. If you don't make a habit of overdoing it, it's pleasant. A drink or two, then stop. Nobody likes that feel when you realize you had one too many, and that was four drinks ago.

I do, but often several weeks will go by before I have a drink.  I don't have a good source of income right now, so I'm trying to make what I have last a long time.  Even when I did have a good paying job, I had only one or two drinks a week, and felt no compulsion to drink habitually.

There have been a few times in previous years where I had way too much to drink, and one time to a dangerous level.  If there's one piece of advice I would give, it's that if you want to drink, don't drink in order to get drunk.  Find drinks you enjoy because they're well crafted, and take it easy.  It's not a race you want to win.

Well, considering I'm not of age...nope.

But I don't think drinking is bad. I'll probably have a drink or two on occasion when I become 21. I'm only cool with it if it's moderate. My dad used to drink a lot and it was bad. So... yeah. Keep is moderate!

Nah I dont. I have though. Even when I'm 21, I'll choose to drink lightly.... Most of the time :comeatus:.. But seriously .

I drink occasionally. A glass of wine or a bottle of beer with dinner maybe a couple of nights a week. Every few weeks I might go out with friends for a bit more (four or five pints perhaps).

Overall I'd say I probably consume each month roughly the maximum recommended amount that a man should be allowed to drink in a week. Back when I was, say, 18-20 it was more like the inverse. I might drink the maximum recommended amount for a month in a week!

To those people who have claimed to be underage, you're quite possibly wrong. For example, there is a popular notion that in the UK you need to be 18 to legally drink. But that is incorrect — you only need to be 18 to purchase alcohol; you are allowed to drink alcohol from the age of 5. (And under medical supervision, alcohol can legally be given to children under that age too, for example as emergency treatment for methanol poisoning.)

Not really... I've yet to find anything I would be interested enough in drinking beyond my first taste, and I'm not sure if I really trust myself with drink anyway. -_-

Very rarely do I drink and only then it's usually because it's the socially expected thing to do.  I will go to the bar with somebody, and have a drink, but I don't care about it any more than that.  I do it because they want to have a drink.  Liquor just ends up hurting my stomach.  Also, hangovers are terrible.  Not worth it at all.

I know I'm only 14 but I occasionally have about half a can of cider that my dad shares with me. I don't feel drunk and haven't seen the consequences of alcohol personally but I am aware, but cider is just... nice...
