Would You Go to Equestria? How Long Would You Stay? What Would You Do?

This, I believe, was a poll on EqD some time ago, but I wanted to see some actual responses. So here's the hypothetical:

 

Somehow, you discover a portal to Equestria and are informed by its maker that if you so desire, you can go through it and live in any Equestrian town you wish. Everything is just like it is in the show, and you will be a full citizen with equal rights.

 

However, once you go through this portal, your old life is gone forever. You cannot bring anybody with you, nor can you ever return to Earth to visit them. Any friends, family, loved ones, favorite restaurants, whatever...It's all in the past. You will permanently and irrevocably be in Equestria for the rest of your life.

 

Would you do it?

You have to remain a human, at least when you arrive. The portal will not magically change you into a pony. If you want to gamble on the hope that Equestrian magic can make you into a pony, that's your call.

 

You don't have time to settle any earthly affairs. The portal closes in a matter of minutes, and once it's closed it's closed forever.

 

 

If this makes anybody want to change their vote, you have that option.

 

Yes, I am gone. I would take the portal with absolutely no regrets, it isn't that I dislike my life at all, but an opportunity like that? In an instant. Though I must add that it is your fault I cannot settle affairs, not mine ;P

Earth is nice, but Equestria is a whole new world to explore. A whole new set of experiences and adventures.

 

Not to mention that even if you're not a pony, you can still be effected by unicorn magic, couldn't you? If I could get somepony to cast me with the dew-wings and cloudwalker spells, I'll be set. I'd have to get the latter renewed every now and then, and the former if the wings break (hopefully not in the air ).

 

If there's even a minute chance that magic could make me a pony someday...even better.

I don't really like my life now,especially dealing with all these school stuff. But humans normally means trouble.Look at what we did to Earth. I definitely do NOT want that to happen to Equestria.
 

So since I won't be transformed into a pony when I enter the portal,the answer will be no. I don't think any pony there will have the power to make me become one. That would be too crazy. Then defeating the bad guys will only require the pony to turn him/her into a small animal.

My mom is in jail most of the time, I grew up without a dad, my sister lives in Illinois so I never get to see her and even then, not for long! (i live in Missouri)

 

 

The world of Equestria could be a new start for me, and maybe I could finally be happy for longer than when I was a baby.

I would go in a heart beat without even thinking about it. I dont hate my life, But its pretty mediocre, job, car, house, cloths, money all pretty average and boring as hell. If I had the chance to go to Equestria I would take it because I guarantee its going to be better then here. Also it would be pretty cool to be the only human in existence and Im pretty sure having someone with hands living in a town of ponys it would be very easy to find work.

better be a bit more exact you can travel between the equestria and earth thourgh a rift in ever free and you choose your race of pony.

Depends on a lot. What would here be like? Would time be frozen, or keep moving forward? That said, can I be a pegasi, or unicorn? Im not sure bout a regular pony.

I like ponies but I'd say no. I couldn't imagine not being able to stand on two feet and not having the advantage of hands. Unless I wake up in Equestria as a Unicorn it's a no for me.

 

Now if I could go to Equestria and keep my human body I'd go in a heartbeat

I just recently thought of something and wanted to share the idea with you

 

so here's the idea: you wake up one day to find your self in a strange place you haven't been before, so many questions are going through your head, where am I?, what do I do? and what's going to happen?.

then you start looking around until you see a path and start to follow it into the unknown, until you find a town called ponyville and that's when you realise your a pony!!!

 

that was my idea to start a new topic off and this is where you guys come in, start off a life in this world and what happens to you is your choice.

 

I hope this is a good topic and im excited to see the replies.

I would just *squee* then i would run around all of Ponyville, giving everypony a brohoof or like they call it, a hoof bump. I would probably begin with looking for Derpy, just hang around her for a while.. Giving her a hug and so on.. Maybe ask her to introduce me to Ponyville.. It would be so cute following her around, while she would be giving me information about the town enthusiastically... It would be so awesome. I would probably hang around the mane 6 a lot.. maybe try to help them on their adventures. Then i would have to look for a job, it would most likely be at Sweet Apple Acres.. Or if i could, i would become a royal guard.. Although that's too far away from the mane 6, so i would rather either work at the Apple farm or maybe at the shop which sells sofas and quills.. There are endless possibilities. Since you did not mention whether we would be our Oc's or humans.. Then it would be different if i was my Oc, then i would work at the weather factory.. And live in Cloudsdale. Which would not be possible as a human.

 

Not really sure what would happen to me, but it would be so typical that Celestia would just send me back to earth.

I'm still me, am I not. The OP said nothing about changing your personality, only where you live. So as far as I'm concerned, human me and pony me would be exactly the same in every regard except anatomy.

Tricky. Would I have to abandon all my real-world loved ones or would they be ponies too? Because Equestria seems like a very fun and magical place. Maybe.. If as could erase my knowledge of this world and it's technology and entertainment.. With my only perception of reality being this land of marshmallow ponies and sunshine, I think I'd love living there.

I'm pretty sure if you became a pony your anatomy would change drastically  Maybe you mean your personality wouldn't change? assuming an actual pony has the capacity to think as deeply as a human.
