If there were to be a brony country....

About time I made a post here. *Cracks knuckles*

 

This could possibly work. But than there are many problems we would have to figure:

 

- Money: What would we use? Dollars? Some other currency? And how would we use bits? If we were to create something like bits, they most likely will be easily copyable. Some non-brony can sneak into Equestria with a machine that creates bits, and feed off the other bronies, causing misfortune.

 

- Non-bronies: As I stated before, some non-brony can come into Equestria and cause misfortune. And a "Quiz" Of MLP wouldn't work either. Just have the guy watch MLP like studying for a test. Pass quiz, he's now in here. We would need something else, or a lot more advanced quiz or something. Than again, not everyone is super into the brony fandom and knows everything about it.

 

- Retirement: You're over 60 yrs old. You've lived your life here, and can't really work anymore. Now what? Live by other people's generosity? Sure bronies may be generous, but who has money all over them? Are there going to be retirement homes? If so, who will be running it? Now there may be jobs that don't require much or any physical labor, but countries grow. There won't always be jobs available.

 

- Technology: What technology will we be using? If any? Are we going to be having cars that need oil, or horses and carriages? Will there be computers? That would require power plants that produce electric power. And who here is a brony and has any knowledge of that kind of stuff?

 

- Materials: Where are we going to be getting materials to build houses, roads, and many household necessities? We will most likely not be able to make any of this stuff ourselves, so we would have to trade. But from where? And if we can't trade, what do we do?

 

- Garbage/Waste: We usually just throw garbage in the trash and forget about it. The garbage guy picks it up and it's gone. Where will we be putting that stuff? With hundreds of houses, what will we do with all the waste? Dig holes and throw it in there? Talk about "Respect the environment." Plus that would most likely cause the place to stink horribly. What would we do?

 

- Food/Water: Where will we be getting that pizza on Friday nights? Or cereal in the morning? Sure we can probably grow our own food, but that would require a lot of hard work, and may be very unstable in early stages. And we would need a lot of growing land, plus seeds to grow the food. And where will we be getting water? Are we near any lakes with drinkable water? Are we all going to have water filters?

 

- Jobs: Ah yes, jobs. Where will there be any jobs? Who will make them? Will there just be a government who freely hands out infinite hordes of cash to citizens and there are no jobs? If that were to happen, wouldn't money be useless? And if there are no jobs, who will be working? Working for free, when the government can just pay you? Bronies may be helpful, but which would you rather do? Go to some electrical plant and work your ass off, or sit back at home and relax?

 

- Government: Government, government, government. What will we be doing with this? Help everyone out like a bunch of happy go epic people? Who will be in charge and create laws?

 

- Defense: Some country wants to invade! What do we do!? Bring fists to a gun-fight? We would need some kind of defense against some land-hungry nation. A militia, where the citizens are the army seems good, but where would we get weapons? Create them ourselves somehow? And if we were to, nothing like a few guns and rockets VS fighter jets with bombs, tanks, and missiles.

 

I'm sure I'm missing some, but these are still many important aspects of a country. And who is going to be willing to do all of this?

For those of you thinking that this so-called "brony country" would be immediately invaded based on the friendship ideals, how do you explain countries like Switzerland who have been neutral throughout all the major, deadliest wars that have gone on in the past? Clearly we would apply the same principles and not approach war by any means.

 

Of course, we would set up a vast set of defense systems, but we would only protect the Bronyland and would leave the rest of the savage brutality to the other war mongers out there.

The only answer is...Magic! Though in all seriousness you are right on all accounts (as far as I can tell) but since we are over a million in population and a good number of us are in college, we can find someone with those skill sets somewhere in our fandom!

This is a very interesting idea. But remember, if bronies are allowed to have a nation, then there would be one for the Star Wars/Star Trek/Doctor Who/ Big Bang Theory etc. etc. fandoms as well. Bronyland would probably be a communist nation (socialism, everpony is at the same level, people help each other, everypony gets paid based on how much they've worked).

 

We would probably have 2 districts, District 1 would be the place for "normal" bronies and District 2 would be the "clopper area"

I'm going to stop resisting...I have to make a comment here.

 

First of all, if there were a brony nation where would it be? We would need to decide on a patch of land where we would be able to overthrow authority of the existing population (plus have an army that could overthrow it).

 

We'd also need values, not just Love and Tolerance (those are elements of other cultures anyway) but ones that would actually keep us together in hard times. The show is definitely not something that would keep us together long term because it is out of our control. Of course, you could always create a religion that could incorporate some show elements.

 

To be recognised by other nation states we'd probably need a flag, a coat of arms, a national anthem, some form of constitution...again we could keep the diarchy but we can't copy the symbols from the show.

 

I actually think it is possible but there's no way it would be if no one else is willing to try.

After reading some ancient posts on EQD I was wondering what a country run off of the morals and lessons shown in MLP:FiM would be like. A country run by bronies for bronies and having everything that is needed like a government and all that fun stuff. Would we be an egalitarian society or would we develop a sort of Caste system? would we be invaded or would we make international friends? How would we do if we were to run our own country? I think we would do pretty poorly at first but then rise to a respectable nation that would be stable.

 

I wouldn't want to live in a country base off a show were a Monarchy has supreme power.

Even though it would be ideal for us bronies to form a government similar to that in MLP, we as a whole probably lack the maturity and whatnot to work out an egalitarian society (although it would be very liberal). There's more to a brony country than its government though.

If we were to follow the "Love and Tolerate" message to heart, like they do in MLP, a said country could never function and probably evolve into chaos.

 

Besides, I don't wish to live in a country where there's totalitarian rule like a monarchy. In such a country, the King/Queen has final say, not the people.

What you know as government here on earth, is not required on advanced, hive-mind civilizations. They're highly tuned with everything. Making the right choices, all together, within cosmic wisdom. Government was never a requirement. Here on earth, within the core spheres, it's about subtle control, limitations and margination. It's the main cause behind the problems it "tries" to solve.

Outside earth, state is from people. Here, state owns people instead, as if they were products, currency. Disgusting. Being stuck within what you know as the "ultra-violet and infra-red spectrum" frame of perception. You can't barely perceive anything from reality.

Don't worry, it's just that you don't know any better. The current situation on earth is abnormal. You'll understand what I'm talking about.

Back on topic. I would rather a multi-cultural society, instead. Developed within love, common wisdom and equality. It might seem hard from your current perspective, but it's pretty normal within higher frequencies of perception.
