  1. I hate it every two weeks. The other Mondays are actually my off days, so I tend to absolutely love those. I just hate the first day of work after any period of relaxation, no matter what day of the week that ends up being.
  2. It isn't really being dead that scares me. After all, I'm not exactly around anymore when I'm dead, and if I am still around somehow then no matter what, everyone I'm leaving behind will be dead at some point as well and then I can meet up with them again. What I do fear is the actual process of dying, the moment where you know that this time, it's not going to be okay and that those moments are the very last ones you're ever going to experience.
  3. My house, plain and simple. There is literally nowhere I'd rather be than at home.
  4. I'd like to, but I've never seen anything that suggests there is one. If it is real, I really, really hope it's not something like reincarnation. There is no way in hell I'm giving up my memories for a chance to live again. I'd rather die permanently if that's the case, or wander the earth as a disembodied spirit, anything but reincarnation.
  5. I'm not too sure about 'anti', but my girlfriend gives zero fucks about most things I like, and vice versa. That said, she isn't really against anything I do, so I don't think it really counts. But then, I don't think I could have a 'best friend' anyway. I enjoy being alone way more than being around people, and lately I've gotten to a point where I don't really want to be closer than just being regular friends with people.
  6. If this site counts, then yes. Otherwise, not really. I don't care for social media at all; what other people get up to is none of my business and what I get up to is none of theirs. The reason I like forums is because I can just post replies without actually needing to follow anything or anyone.
  7. I've never been on one, but I'd like to sometime. If I do go on one, though, I'd like to go in without knowing the story. That way, if I do see something which matches the occurrences that are supposed to happen there, I can be a bit more certain it's not just my mind playing tricks on me. Somehow, though, I doubt I'll see or feel anything.
  8. My friends are people I can have a good time with, without there being any obligations to anything.
  9. I have a journal on my PC, but I haven't written in it in ages. I intended to actually write down events from my day in it, but in practice I only use it to vent, and I don't feel the need to do that nearly as much as I once did. That said, I do occasionally still use it to ramble about ideas for fanfics and stories I have.
  10. I liked this final. Discord being Grogar was unexpected, but taking into account the Beginning of the End it wasn't unreasonable. I also like Cozy Glow a lot as a psychotic villain, so it's always fun seeing her hamming it up. Sure, the episodes weren't perfect, but nothing about them was really bad, just a bit rushed sometimes. I would've liked to have seen more of the villains' work to destabilize Equestria during the season itself, since now we only got one episode where we actually see them trying to play ponies off against each other, yet in this episode Equestria's suddenly on the precipice of a civil war. In that respect, it comes off a bit like a game, where the world state changes instantly depending on one's progress in a quest, rather than truly feeling like the situation evolved into what it's depicted as being. It's also a bit strange that Big Mac and Sugar Belle are together when the tribes split up, but Lyra and Bon Bon (who also proposed to each other the previous episode) are not. Granted, The Last Problem does show they actually got married in the end, but still. And yes, I know they're background ponies despite their popularity, but both the preceding and following episodes reference their relationship, so it stands out that here they don't seem to trust each other enough to stand by one another. That said, I like the poetic justice of turning the villains into a statue. They weren't reformed, which is good, and they got punished rather harshly, which is even better. I do question how the Princesses were able to do this without the Elements, since they definitely needed them to turn Discord into stone. I also wonder why they didn't do this sooner. Still, a fitting ending.
  11. I always like the 'distant future' kind of thing when it's used in finals, and this time was no exception. I like how the newspaper showed that Lyra and Bon Bon, after their mutual proposal in The Big Mac Question, actually got married and actually stayed together through the years, and I also like the strong implications of AppleDash and FlutterCord being canon. That said, the 'emotional final' feeling for me was kind of missing compared to other shows I've watched, especially because the topic of Twilight's emotion in the flashback was her moving away to Canterlot. The Mane Six were always meant to rule together, so her fear of drifting apart wasn't really that founded, and IMO she overreacted a bit to the situation. Additionally, I didn't really feel the parallel between Twilight as she was before going to Ponyville and Luster Dawn now. Twilight wasn't so much opposed to making friends as she was concerned about the fate of the world. She wasn't interested in making friends, but she wasn't opposed to it either. Luster Dawn just doesn't want to make friends at all. I feel that viewpoint wasn't really given much attention, instead focusing on Twilight and her friends. Being a final episode, that makes sense, but I do think it takes away from Luster Dawn as a character. Still, though, overall I think it was a fitting end to the series, and I liked the literal bookending they did in the final shot.
  12. This episode was just really cute, and the humor was on point. But of course, the best part of the episode was Lyra and Bon Bon proposing to each other
  13. When I saw the post title, the 'eating enough meat to have 1% of your mass be pony' was the first thing I thought of. In all honesty, horse meat is pretty good, so you could probably try it out. I'm not going to considering I'd have to eat around 900 grams of meat to achieve that, which is a bit much even for me.
  14. I've always loved writing stories and coming up with my own worlds and the like, so I'd consider myself pretty creative. I have far more ideas than I write down, though.
  15. Honestly, I don't think the points this guy raises are technically wrong. I do think that in this fandom, as well as in most others, or really in any more or less 'close' community, or really society as a whole, a lot of stuff is going on that is being consistently and deliberately silenced by the 'powers that be', until they see fit to use it as blackmail material to destroy someone's life in one way or another. That said, the broad generalizations that are being made here, which essentially paint everyone in the fandom as being either a pedophile or an apologist, are just hurting his own credibility. I sort of agree with the fact that there's a lot of Rule 34 on open display, but the same goes for just about every 'general' anime convention I've ever been to. And even then, there are a lot of people there who give precisely zero fucks about all of that and who are just there for actor panels or merchandise of a more 'wholesome' nature. Grouping them in with pedophiles or apologists just because they're there and don't care about what other people they have no connection with other than liking the same show are up to is a bit too callous for my tastes. I think a large part of the issue with cons is that a lot of the more 'vocal' fans tend to go there, and I've noticed in various fandoms that those 'vocal' fans are also often quite unhinged, or at the very least very socially inept. Put a lot of people like that in the same place, and you have a situation which is, indeed, not really the best one for children to be in — albeit usually not because of predatory behavior, more 'regular' colossal social ineptitude. I don't really see much of a solution for that, either, without also hurting all the casual fans who go to such cons, and who probably make up the majority of the people attending cons. The organization's stance on 'avoiding drama' is one that's unfortunate, but understandable from their perspective. An accusation of pedophilia, whether it's true or not, is going to have enormous impact on the con in one way or another. Before anything is made public, I believe all facts should be checked, and the accused should at the very least get a chance to defend themselves before being publicly crucified, as tends to happen in our age of social media. It's far too easy for anyone to manipulate screenshots or withhold crucial information to simply go off of any one picture or conversation snippet or whatever else someone might throw online. In those cases, I believe an official statement should only be made after an investigation is conducted. Of course, such investigations don't always happen if people are actively protecting each other or actively frustrating any ongoing research. This isn't the cut-and-dry case it's being presented as in the video. I'm not willing to dismiss what this guy says out of hand just because I don't like him (and judging from this one video, I really don't), but neither am I willing to jump on the 'burn the witch' bandwagon without any more information. In my opinion, neither should anyone else. You can, of course, believe whatever you want, but my personal view is that every story has multiple sides, as is the case with the recent drama around Youtuber ProJared. He told people his side of the conversation, along with giving all the evidence he had, and then just basically told people to choose what to believe for themselves. I don't think any accusation should be either dismissed or believed without knowing both sides of the story, but in today's society every single statement or accusation seems to create an almost bipolar mood swing in entire communities and that would understandably make organizations reluctant to act on any information. The bottom line is that I simply don't know enough about the specific cases that are being mentioned in this video (or even who the people involved are) to really believe or disbelieve any of it. I believe problems like this exist in every community, fan-related or otherwise, but for the life of me I don't know what the correct solution to the problem might be.
  16. Season 6 for me. If it hadn't been for Starlight and the final third of the season, I'd probably consider it a lost season. Though the only episode I really don't like is Season 9's 'A Trivial Pursuit'.
  17. That may be so, but children who watch this show might be tempted to feed their dog or cat things that really aren't good for them after seeing Fluttershy recommending it. The majority probably won't, just like I don't believe that violent shows or games make children act that way, but in this case it's actually presented as something desirable and in our world it simply isn't. There are already too many people IRL doing this out of misguided enlightenment.
  18. This episode was the best one in a long time. Angel's lines are funny as hell and it was a blast seeing him running around in Fluttershy's body. Easily one of the most amusing episodes in the series. The only thing I could hold against this episode is Fluttershy's 'try to be vegetarian' speech to the predators. IRL a lot of pets die or get very sick because their owners try to make obligate carnivores vegetarian or vegan, and I really don't think it's smart to have Fluttershy, who really should know better, suggest something like this.
  19. After the trivia episode, I was kind of worried going into this one, but fortunately I didn't have to. This was a good episode, it was nice to see Twilight showing her character development, as well as having Discord comment on it. It was also fun to see the security system in action again, and how the villains got past it successfully. I like Cozy Glow a lot more now that she's openly evil.
  20. I always just interpret it as the show taking words we'd be familiar with, and then putting them into a related, but still different context depending on their needs. Calling a winged horse a Pegasus is definitely something kids would do, and understand. Similarly, I doubt many children know the legends of the actual Changelings, or the Windigos, or Ahuizotl, or that 'alicorn' was originally the name for the material a unicorn's horn is made of, not a winged unicorn. As for the cockatrice, it makes sense that they wouldn't go for paralysis or death in the show, because death would be far too grim for the target audience, while paralysis would probably look extremely unnerving even to adults, while petrifaction, being something unheard of IRL, would have much less of a scary impact, while still allowing for lots of tension. Ultimately I think the creative liberties the show takes are all for the better, and allow it to create its own mythology by using existing concepts.
  21. Both of them are great as supporting characters, but not so much as the main character, IMO. That said, both fulfill very different roles in their respective settings, and of the two the FiM Spike seems to be more active the story than LBT Spike, so I guess I slightly prefer FiM Spike.
  22. I've always thought that Celestia is well aware of how much she is to blame for Sunset's fall, but the show just does a really poor job of displaying it. The same goes for her trolling sense of humor. Celestia, in my mind, would know better than to frighten Twilight and Sunset, the former because she's just neurotic about the prospect of somehow failing her, and the latter because she knows damn well how guilty Sunset feels about everything that's happened. She would definitely mess with them, but not in such a callous way. In Forgotten Friendship's case, I just decided to let it slide and cherry-pick the elements that I did like. At this point, my headcanon is only loosely connected to the actual canon, exactly because of things like this, where Celestia seems to accept none of the blame.
  23. For starters, I'd spend a lot more time building up the Storm King to be a credible threat. I'd have the party at the start go off without a hitch, and then start showing storm clouds beginning to gather over Equestria, clouds that the weather ponies can't seem to keep away. I'd then have Celestia and Luna explain that, a thousand years ago (because everything is always a thousand years ago in this franchise) they fought the Storm King and managed to exile, but not truly defeat him. His return now could spell doom for Equestria, but it's possible for him to be stopped through the use of a powerful magical artifact, only known as the Eye of the Storm. The Eye has the power to influence the weather, specifically being able to calm even the most furious storms. When he was first powerful a thousand years ago, the Storm King had already sought to destroy it, and Celestia had given it to the Hippogriffs to keep safe. Celestia would then task the Mane 6 to visit the Hippogriffs and retrieve the Eye, while the Princesses, Starlight, and Discord would defend Equestria from the Storm King. Discord would be incredulous at first, of course, but he'd soon find out that the Storm King's storm magic is powerful enough to go toe to toe with Discord's chaos magic. From this point on, the movie would switch between the POVs from the Mane 6 to the Princesses as they continue on their journey. The Storm King and his troops attack Canterlot, and despite their might the Princesses, Starlight and Discord are incapable of being everywhere at once, fighting both the troops and the magical storms at the same time. The Storm King then discovers that there is one more Princess, and orders his general Tempest to find her and bring her back, so he can drain the magic from the Princesses and take over the world (of course!). The Mane 6, meanwhile, don't have much luck with finding the Hippogriffs, since Mount Aris appears to be deserted. While still there, the group is discovered and captured by Celano's pirates, who are working for the Storm King. After convincing the pirates to rebel against their overlord, they ask where the Hippogriffs have gone, and Celano tells them that the only thing she knows is that when the weather began to turn and the Storm King's return was imminent, the Hippogriffs just disappeared. She jokingly suggests they might have fled under water, where the Storm King wouldn't be able to find them. Twilight thinks that Celano could be right, though, reasoning that the magic of the Eye could probably be tapped to do other things than simply calming storms. Before they can put this plan into action, they would be discovered by Tempest (in the same way as before, through Rainbow Dash's Sonic Rainboom), who attacks the pirate ship with her own airship. They escape by hiding themselves in a storm cloud, an effort coordinated by Rainbow's skill at weather manipulation and Twilight's magic, but once they've escaped Twilight is frantic that Tempest's presence here must mean that Canterlot has fallen and that everything is up to her now as Equestria's sole remaining Princess. Her friends remind her that she isn't alone, but Twilight doesn't seem to really hear it. The pirates drop the Mane 6 off at Mount Aris, and Twilight uses her magic to allow them to breathe underwater while they look for the Hippogriffs. The scene in Seaquestria would then play out much like in the current movie, with the added caveat of Novo explaining that they indeed used the Eye to transform themselves into sea ponies in order to escape from the Storm King, by exploiting the nature of its protective magic. Novo is reluctant to hand over the Eye, feeling the protection of her own people is her most important mission, as well as believing the risk of delivering the one thing that might stop the Storm King directly into his hands is just too great. Twilight is unable to convince her, tells Pinkie and the others to go have fun with the sea ponies, and attempts to steal the Eye. The subsequent argument on the beach does lead to Twilight getting captured, just like in the original movie. Tempest takes Twilight to Canterlot, where the Storm King coldly dismisses her instead of restoring her horn like he'd promised, and Tempest begins to realize that Twilight's pleas for her to turn away from the Storm King might have been genuine. At the same time, the other ponies and Celano attempt to sneak into Canterlot to free Twilight, but are captured and brought to the Storm King. At this point, the Storm King has all but won, and he finally begins the ritual to drain the Princesses of their magic in order to bolster his own (Starlight and Discord are locked up in cages made from the same material as the Changeling hive to prevent them from escaping, but the Storm King has no interest in Starlight's magic because it is just that of a unicorn, and he simply doesn't know how to drain Discord's magic so he decides not to bother). Tempest, however, turns against him and frees Twilight and everyone else. The Storm King, enraged, decides that he'll simply level all of Canterlot with a storm while his troops battle with the ponies. Then, in a Big Damn Heroes moment, Novo and the Hippogriffs show up with the Eye, and they use it to calm the Storm King's storms and nullify his power. Unwilling to be beaten, he charges Novo and manages to wrest the Eye away from her, but in doing so he sends himself tumbling off the balcony. He tries to use the Eye's magic to save himself, but in his haste (he is falling to his doom, after all) he messes up and instead of giving himself the fortitude to survive the fall, he turns into a statue and smashes into pieces on the ground below, along with the Eye. In the epilogue, it's shown that fragments of the Eye still retain enough power to enable the Hippogriffs to switch between their normal and sea pony forms, and each of them is given a shard to wear around their necks to make switching easy, allowing them to choose to live on land or under water. Meanwhile, Tempest is forgiven for the things she did in service of the Storm King, and Twilight is forgiven for nearly starting a massive international incident by trying to steal the Eye. Both learn a valuable lesson about friendship somewhere in all of this. Roll credits. Maybe I'll write this as a full fanfic someday.
  24. Time To Be Awesome is the first one I thought of, even though Open Up Your Eyes is very good too. Together with Rainbow, those are the only songs I actually remember from the movie. I always like Rainbow Dash's singing, though, so it's no surprise I like that one best.
  25. The scene on the beach after the failed pearl heist. Twilight and Pinkie both had good arguments IMO and Twilight losing her temper and sparking her horn was really powerful because she's never made such an open threat of violence to her friends before, and she looked absolutely horrified at having done it now. Definitely the strongest written scene of the movie for me.
