I got my first computer when I was about 5 or 6.  It was a Toshiba laptop with Windows 97 I think and the monitor gave you a headache after about an hour.  I still have it somewhere but it has not been booted up for at least 5 years.

I remember when I first got my first PC when I was around ten. It was an Compaq pentium 3 running windows XP and I used to tear it apart and put it back together. Frankly, the thing gave up on me because of that!

Our first family computer was back in '98. I was 10 at the time. It  was a Dell with a Pentium II at 400 Mhz, 128MB ram, a glitchy 8mb diamond graphics card, I think it originally had a quantum fireball 8G hard drive that died in like a year. We got A LOT of use out of that and it still works, although I haven't touched it in a few years.

I got my own first computer when I started high school at 14 in 2002. (WAIT A second... HALF MY LIFE AGO ALREADY!!) It is also a Dell. It was a Pentium 4 at 2Ghz, I don't remember for sure but I think it might have only had 128MB Ram originally. It also had a 60GB WD hard drive, and two optical drives, DVD ROM and a CDRW. It also had a 128mb ATI graphics card and a Turtle Beach sound card. That computer still works fine and the last time I did anything with it was right before XP was having support dropped by Microsoft. I completely reinstalled and updated windows.

Hm... Good question, actually. I think I got my very first computer (for me, in my room) around 2002/2003. It was an old computer with very limited function, it did not have internet. It was a hand-me-down, essentially... So I don't completely count it.

The first one I really count came in late summer of 2004. My grandfather had it built for me, so I would have a nice computer. Although, by the standards of gaming in 2004 it wasn't very "nice", and was near minimum specs to play The Sims 2. But that's okay, because gaming PCs always cost a fortune (even to run The Sims 2 nicely, yes) and I would have never expected that upon my grandfather. Anyway my family got high-speed internet along with getting that PC, so I had high-speed internet, and on my own computer. It was amazing. Such a contrast to having to get on dial-up on my parents' computer. lol

As far as having my very own computer, I was 14 when I got my very first, a pink Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows Vista. :P I have since become a Mac user.

I got mine when I was 10. It was an Acer with Windows Vista, 4GB RAM and 500 GB of memory, a little heavy and it overheated a lot, but it worked really well. I got a new one when I was 14, but it still kinda works.

My family had computers since I was born (my dad's first was a Commodore 64). I didn't get my very own till I was about 15. It was a crappy old Compaq (no idea what model) and it died about two years later. I never was much with computers and I killed my next one (yeah, another freakin' Compaq) after another year and a half. I now use my roommate's computer (an Asus), so if it dies I'll blame it on her and wait till she buys another one I can destroy.  :orly:

Sometime before the year 2000 when connecting to the internet would take minutes, regarding family computers. I got my own computer in December 2007. It was a $3,000 laptop because it had an Intel core2 Extreme. Such an absolute waste of money. But still, the laptop did what I wanted my laptop to do, so

My very own first PC we brought it over the phone in 2013 from dell. We got a really good deal on it for only paying $1600 for it and Logitech speakers, wireless keyboard a mouse and a dell 1200P monitor. It had a Intel I7 8-core CPU (5th gen), NIVDA GTX GE-FORCE 660 GPU and 8GB of RAM. Top of the range PC for the time but is close to average performance now days which is ok as all I ever use it for is playing Minecraft and browsing the internet. :)

When I was about 6 I got a big white Dell computer, I had it for educational games that my mum bought for me. Since I was about 11 I've had about three or four different laptops and never a proper PC but I'm fine with that, the laptops have served me well.

I got my first computer in 1997, when I was 7 years old. It was a Macintosh Performa 630 without internet connection. It worked great, it had some simple games on it and a word processor, and that's pretty much it. Got my start writing on that old machine. It only crashed once in its existence, probably because of me, and it never worked after. I switched to Windows from then on, and these days I don't like what MacOS has become.
