What you described isn't nuzzling. If they nipped me they'd get their face shoved away and be told to knock it off. I've been bitten by a horse before and it does not feel good,nor is it funny or cute.

 

If they were actually nuzzling the way a pet would that would be cute. Nuzzling is where an animal rubs its face on your face, hand or leg as a show of affection or a bid for attention.

I hug my friends from time to time so I'm okay with that, but nuzzling sounds too much like kissing, and only my girlfriend gets to do that. I'd ask them not to do it and I'm pretty sure they'd understand.
