Hypothetical Question: MLP just got cancelled. How do you react?

There was life before Mlp and there shall be life after Mlp and sure I might be disappointed that the show ended, but that doesn't mean the community that it spawned will end with it.

That's what I think. The show can end right now, but this community is so awesome. It'll make me even more sad to see this community die than the show.

I would laugh uncontrollably for a good 5 minutes thinking  "This will be fun!"

Stage 1. I start a Brony militia and organize a Coup d'état in every major country. I assume control over the whole world using America's ,Russia's and the U.K's military force. Banish the people responsible for cancellation to the moon.

Stage 2. Gather the worlds top scientists and order them to make an airborne virus that messes with the Human DNA so that it turns everyone (except me)into cartoon ponies(it can be done).

Stage 3. Force everyone into an underground bunker and nuke the earth. Get rid of any lingering toxic waste and fumes using and advanced filtration unit place over the earths atmosphere(will be multiple systems).

Stage 4. wipe parts of memories of everpony on the planet. Tell them this is Equestria and I'm the only homo-sapien in existence, who is also the leader.

The point of my plan? You cancel MLP and i will destroy this planet and re-shape it into the MLP universe.

  • 1 year later...

Rejoice at my freedom from poni, and laugh at the bronies' rage and disappointment.

For something better will come in place of poni.

EDIT: If it could actually happen, I would celebrate by writing my stories, and ascending to Lord of the Rings and typical blockbuster fare.

I'd start a union of talented brony artists and writers and direct a new wave of fan-made episodes with me as supreme ruler of the bronies. Just kidding about the ruler part. But so long as hasbro didnt have a fit bout it, I'd totally wana see someone else pick up where they left off

"Oh, okay then. At least I was around to experience it, and it ended on a good note. I'm sure the fandom is glad it didn't end up like Spongebob, and understands that every show has to end at some point."

*sees everyone's reaction*

*sigh* "It's things like this that make me wonder why I'm even in this fandom. Welp, off to Gravity Falls then."

Extreme, but short-lived disappointment. Of course I would get over it as there are more important things, but in a sense it would feel like I've lost a friend. However, like with any loss, you come to remember the memories you've had and appreciate the good times you had. :)

I would be disappointed, but not for too long. When the show cancels I'll then move on to another cartoon to watch.

The only thing sadder than the show being discontinued is "My Little Dashie" (don't read unless you want to lose your eyeballs due to water pressure). :'(

It was that fanfic that made me want to raise and love a filly of my own. Screw a dog or cat, I want a little pony. The streams out of my eyes were more wet and salty than the yellow river.

Anywho I would be sad and would have to find something else to help depression. I would probably get over it but I would never forget the show that made me a happy person again from the characters to the community.

Rage on my Twitter and Facebook, then I'd come here and would rage with everyone together, and then I would create a Kickstarter to get it back up. Or a petition, or something. I'd do my best to try too get it back on the air.

This is how it would happen:

•I'd be bored, say it's almost 3 a.m., and I'd look up MLP news.

•I'd find an article about MLP canceling and I'd click it,pondering in shock.

•As I read through, my heart drops, a tear might enter my eye, and eventually it'll hit me a week later and I'll start bawling.

•Then I realize the article is from Mirror and I feel relieved. There's a chance that this article was just another one of those false reports from the site.

MLP can't end. It will live on. PONIES FOREVER!

I would probably just freak out, cry and then watch/listen/view pretty much everything related to the show starting with stuff I would miss most like Fiery Joker and then working my way down to things I disliked so letting go will be easier.

I probably be dissapointed and do some kind of a tribute for a few days. But after that, it's back to my other things.

I won't get bored or sad, just because the show is gone.

I wouldn't freak out and throw a tantrum, but it would be pretty upsetting. All of the cartoons I grew up with got cancelled, and I would probably react the same way as I did back then. I'd just rewatch old episodes and fan parodies on youtube. Then, I'd wait for something new to come around that will keep me entertained.

I know that everything comes to an end one day, but I don't want FIM to get cancelled without finishing a season. That's what always ticked me off about cancelled shows. They could have the common decency to wrap up the storyline in one final episode, but they don't.

I'd be a little put off by it, but I'd try to think positive, something along the lines of

"Well.... At least the cannon can't change and I can stop worrying about how cannon my MLP Pathfinder campaign would be by the time the next season would have ended."

Then I'd probably work more ont he campaign, finish it, and publish it to FiM fic

This isn't the first old thread that has been bumped, but I suppose it's still a valid topic. The way I see it, it's inevitable that the show will end one day. Life will go on. I have all the DVDs released so far and the show's cancellation wouldn't stop me from enjoying past episodes. There are shows I have a personal fondness for that have been cancelled much sooner. Bromwell High in particular only ran for a grand total of 13 episodes. I have the DVD, and it's easily the most basic DVD set I've ever come across, yet I still pop it in periodically because I enjoy re-watching episodes of my favorite shows past or present on my days off, particularly during meals.

It's also worth noting that the comics and novels probably won't just stop unless Hasbro really wants to pull the plug on them. The comics in particular are the most likely to have the greatest longevity IMHO. That, and the fan works won't just stop overnight. When the time comes for FiM to go off the air, I will live.

I wouldn't be too terribly sad about it honestly.  I mean people we got 5 seasons, 3 direct to dvd limited theatrical released spin off movies, comic spin offs, a crap load of merchandise and media and are getting a 2017 full length animated wide released movie.

I think that is a good amount of content that I can go back and watch and revisit whenever I feel like it.  I would rather have the show end with integrity and with my wanting more, rather than it to go on and on until it becomes a complete zombie and a shell of it's former self.

I will be sad to see it go, but just like how I reacted to Korra's ending it won't hit me too hard until a while but other shows that I am watching at the time will help me be able to move on from one of my favorite shows ending.  Plus I can still interact with this fanbase and all of it's art and fanfictions and fan art that I love, so in a way it won't truly be gone.

Plus there always is still the chance for a G4.5 or G5 to be good and similar to the quality as FIM.  Just saying.
