  1. Yes, this greatly annoyed me in the finale as well but for whatever reason instead of just ABSORBING all of the princesses powers like he should have done it the first place given his immense power at that point instead of wasting time fighting Twilight he did seem quite incompetent at using it for anything other than purely destructive purposes-like making a cage or something to trap her in. So maybe Meghan thought he was already overpowered enough as he was without having him utilize Discord's chaos magic, assuming he actually knew how to use it.
  2. While the horn's look like the western world's interpretation of the devil's elongated versions, the ball of energy between them reminds me of a sun disk. Which made me think of Hathor as well (unless there is a creature with a similar physiology that I am unaware of), when I finally got a chance to see the finale which wouldn't surprise me since Friendship is Magic has utilized various mythological creatures and characters since its conception.
  3. I voted 'no' because it's entirely dependant on the type of story-alternate universe fics get a free pass because they don't take place in the same world as the show itself. And background characters for the most part are subjective to fanon such as; Lyra, Octavia, Vinyl/DJ Pon-3, Button Mash, Minuette/Colgate, etc. I have read stories that have bothered me because one or more major characters were completely out of character, but ultimately it's up to the writer to decide when it comes to audience backlash, since fan projects for the most part are supposed to be a representation for one's passion of the show and it's not as big of a deal as it is in the show since you don't really have to worry about such actions being a part of the show's canon. Besides, it's not like I'm being forced to read it; there are two fics in particular that I had to stop reading for such an issue, I told the author's of my concerns and moved on, since for better or for worse they were still ultimately their stories.
  4. He already stabbed them in the back once, I'm sure given the opportunity he'll do so again-as he is the Master of Chaos-and he's already shown that all he really needs is an incentive. Plus, as evil as he was Tirek was correct in his observation that friendship was a new form of imprisonment-especially given the fact that Twilight was searching for a reformation spell to force him to behave before the book was eaten. So in a sense his betrayal and any future betrayal would be justified given the fact the only Fluttershy truly wants to be his friend and the others just want to spread him from causing more chaos, if he and Fluttershy have a falling out he could quite easily return to his true nature once again.
  5. While I enjoyed it, there were several issues that bothered me throughout the episode; I realize that Twilight had to win because she's the main character, but I thought it was pretty stupid of Tirek to offer her friends in exchange for her and the princesses magic when he could have just eaten it-especially since he had Discord's chaos magic at that point. I was also taken off-guard by the fact everyone was surprised by Discord's betrayal when out of the Mane Six only Fluttershy had ever truly given him a chance, since they believed he would turn on them the first chance he got (so why was it such a surprise now?)-in the same vein, it seemed odd that a manipulator like Discord couldn't see what Tirek was doing with him until it was too late. Also if Rainbow Power is the magic of friendship, then shouldn't Tirek still technically have been able to absorb it since he was powerful enough to absorb both Alicorn and Chaos magic at that point? There is also the fact that Tirek was somehow aware of Princess Cadance's existence as he didn't show any surprise when confronting the Princesses, yet the revelation of Twilight was a shock to him. If Tirek had been stealing magic from Unicorns since escaping from Tartarus back when Cereberus escaped in "It's About Time" in Season 2, then why were these incidents never reported? Surely, even if the afflicted were too weak there should have been friends, family members, or passers by to notice something odd. As pointed out by Tirek, Twilight was pretty quick to forgive Discord for betraying them and while I could understand Fluttershy, Twilight claims to still be his friend-yet, she never cites a reason why such as "because friends forgive each other for their mistakes" or something along those lines would have made the scene easier to swallow.
  6. In the comics, he convinced Celestia to ditch her royal duties and new kingdom to go traipsing around in a different dimension as well as the fact that he believed what he was doing was more important than what was going on with Luna after both of them acknowledge her strange behavior and pretty much told Celestia that she wasn't important enough to deal with until they returned-which means that without him, Nightmare Moon could have been prevented. In Magical Mystery Cure, Celestia says that he didn't 'understand friendship' which usual only applies to jerk characters within the show.
  7. -I don't care for the "Reflections" arc in the comics. -I think Starswirl was probably a huge jerk back when he was alive. -I'm really disappointed that the writers decided to bring back Tirek instead of Grogar from G1. -I enjoyed Sunset Shimmer's character and I wish we could see more of her.
  8. I'm still a fan of Celestia but my opinion on her has dropped significantly since reading the first two issues of the 'Reflections' arc where she was stupid, hypocritical, and irresponsible. With that said, I think the Celestia from the show is really cool because of her benevolence and grace, but despite her position as power she's not stuck-up or some kind of prude as we've seen that she's can be fun by pulling the occasional harmless prank from time to time. I believe she made a point about one believing in themselves even when everyone else was seemingly against them with her instincts and conviction, that is-if I remember correctly.
  9. I don't really care about the others since I've always thought the coolest villain of G1 was Grogar, so I'm hoping he's a villain in a future season since we already know they're bringing back Tirek.
  10. It would surprise me in the slightest, I understand wanting to look out for other creatures-but, recently it's become abundantly clear to me that the majority of the organizations members are mentally ill.
  11. Go to college, play video games, continue writing crappy fanfiction based on the show...
  12. I used to consider them canon, until the inconsistencies became too much for me to ignore. Now I feel kind of bad for Fleetfoot, since she was speaking normally before her accident with the Cutie Mark Crusader's fireworks and makes me wonder if her lisp in 'Rainbow Falls' was a result of the lasting brain damage, since we've seen in the Big Mac arc that she suffered a pretty bad concussion from it. I agree with this sentiment as it feels like too often characters are dumbed down or flanderized for comedic effect or drama. Exactly this, there certainly is a lot of good in the comics in regards to lore and story ideas but, I wouldn't go so far as to call them canon (at least not in the show's universe).
  13. Awesome image I just found of Shining Armor. And a really cool image done by pixelkitties of Shining Armor surfing.
  14. My favorite Stallion is Shining Armor. My favorite Colt is Button Mash. My favorite Mare is Rainbow Dash. My favorite Filly is Scootaloo.
  15. Before this Season I would have said no whereas in 'Wonderbolts Academy' seemed to be more of a parody of Top Gun played for laughs, 'Testing, testing 1, 2, 3' seems to heavily imply that they actually are (or were) a military unit.

  20. Cheerilee as a filly and teenager;
  21. Dash ALWAYS has to learn the same lessons about loyalty and humility over and over again....so her episodes are usually pretty boring if not terrible plus, she can be a bit of a jerk sometimes.
  22. It's also possible that since Chrysalis had imprisoned her that she and/or her Changelings could have weakened her by feeding on her love. Yeah, when she was trapped in the cave surrounded by those crystal things-Twilight wound up destroying them.
  23. Found this really cool Octavia image by Adlynh on deviantART;
  24. I would like to point out that Ashleigh Ball is also a singer/musician and not just a voice actress so she's probably already comfortable singing, the same could be said for Britt McKillip (the voice actress for Cadance). Also, probably this;
  25. The broken reinforcement of Snowflake not being a good flier despite helping out in Hurricane Fluttershy and being accepted into the Wonderbolts Academy who pried themselves on being the best. Fluttershy also having on and off stage fright, conveniently not being a factor during the qualifying rounds or the Games themselves when a large portion of THE WORLD was watching her. That's still bugging me from Rainbow Falls and the issue is still present here.
