Taste is the least essential sense for me. As long as I can still be able to eat then I don't see a huge problem if I had to really choose one to pick. Sure I won't be able to taste anything delicious, but that also saves money xP (I'm such a cheap ass lol). Really all I need is healthy food and protein, and I won't ever need to say to myself "Eww that tastes disgusting, I think I'll pass." and miss out on dinner or something, but that barely happens anyway lol. I haven't said that since I was a bratty kid.

All of those senses except for taste are quite vital for defense and simply not injuring oneself. For that reason I'd be willing to sacrifice my sense of taste. On the other hand, not having this massive sweet tooth would make it easier for me to take better care of myself.

Smell, both Taste and Smell are none-essential, but I would rather not be able to smell than to not be able to taste, I know loosing smell would hinder taste but meh :P

I would get rid of the ability to smell out of all of them.

I would never want to lose sight or hearing.

Touch is also something I never really cared for, while I love the taste of certain foods.

In order from "would rather lose" to "never want to lose", here's my order:

  1. Smell
  2. Touch
  3. Taste
  4. Hearing
  5. Sight

I voted smell, but technically-speaking, it's a tricky one. A lot of taste actually has to do with smell - there are even air veins going from your mouth to your nasal passages so that you can "smell" something that's inside of your mouth.

I would choose smell, I can definitely live without being able to smell, on the contrary, that might be a good thing, not getting nausiated at certain things could be cool. But I wouldn't be able to live without sight or hearing, that would be a nightmare to me.

A no brainer for me, I'd prefer not to smell because I can't half the year due to allergies anyway and there are plenty of foul smells out there, not to mention, I could live without smelling nice things.

I pretty much NEED to see and hear for obvious reasons.

Tasting is just nice, I like tasting food but it'd be the next sense I'd give up, after smelling. Although smelling would probably come more useful when it comes to sensing stuff like fires.

Touch is very important to me, I'm very sensitive and need to feel and be aware of what is going on around me. I also use touch to navigate more often than I do seeing. I'm actually not sure if not being able to feel would increase or decrease my sensory issues but those are still apart of who I am. It'd also suck if you stepped on something and bled and didn't even notice.

Taste - I love food, taste is amazing. I don't wanna lose it.

Hearing - No music or hearing my boyfriend saying I love you? Sounds awful

Sight - you can't see to do anything and things would be so different and boring... :/ no.

Touch - ohohohoh no feel good sex??? worst nightmare.

Smelling - eh, that. might have more positives to not smell things anyways xD

I pick smell.

Smell, never even had it in the first place. Severe chronic cold nearly completely disabled my smell since I was 5. I hate it so much...

I would have to go with smell, mainly because it's not that big of a deal for me. Some people would say feel, but then you wouldn't be able to know when you're seriously injured, and just hurt yourself more. Sight and hearing are pretty much essential to living by yourself. How do you know if danger is coming if you can't hear it?!

And taste is the most important of all xD I mean, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't taste my favorite foods.

I'd be fine with losing my sense of smell, especially since I don't have much of it in the first place. It's not like there's many pleasant smells around where I live, anyhow, so it'd be no loss to me. ^^

Uh guys, just putting this out there, but without smell, you wouldn't be able to taste at all.

I guess I would rather lose my sense of smell. I'm a gamer as well as a Brony, and neither hobby would be the same without both sight and hearing. I enjoy cookies and other sweet snacks as well as curry and a good steak. I would rather not lose my sense of taste. As awesome as it would be to not feel pain, I also wouldn't be able to feel pleasant things like my cat who's really soft. That leaves smell. It would render my scented candle moot but I guess I would rather live with that than losing any of my other senses.

I have blind friends so I know I could function without sight or smell. I would definitely NOT want to lose my hearing or touch. It's too dangerous to live without touch, and hearing is more important in most emergencies.

Sound is most important to me because music is something I can't live without. Touch is also important because I love the feeling of Keru blankey since he's so soft and fluffy. <3 Others are important to, but if I really had to... I guess it'd be smell. Then again, this is a hard question. I mean, if I ever met my hero and had no ability to smell... I wouldn't be able to remember how nice he smells ignore the fact that that last sentence sounds weird. D:

I guess all my senses are important. *shrug* It'd be hard to live without at least one of them because they all have their importance to me.

Taste / Smell:

Those are closely connected. If you can't smell, you basically can't taste anything either. If I were to lose my sense of taste, all those positive moments in my life about delicious tastes and exciting foods, would all turn to chores. A huge hit for my general happiness.

Hearing:

Hearing is the sense closes to the feelings. Hearing people talk, listening to music, it boosts your emotions very much, and very fast. Also you'd have a hard time communicating with your friends, and you'd be awkward to be around.

Touch:

Besides the most awesome feeling in the world, you'd also lose a big sense of security. Your sense of touch is used to send pain signals to tell your brain something is wrong. If you couldn't feel those signals, you might damage your body much worse than necessary. It might even make you go blind if you got something stuck in your eye, but didn't notice.

Sight:

Finally the elephant in the room. No one would chose sight right? It's the most practical sense of them all, and you'd be right.

However, notice the word practical. When it comes to happiness and well being, sight actually doesn't do much. How often have you seen something that has made you feel good? I mean by sight alone, watching a movie is powerful because of the plot and sound, rarely because of how it looks.

I'd have a hard time choosing between taste/smell, and sight.
