If you told your past self you would like My Little Pony, how would they react?

How would my past-self react? Hmmmm, time for a Far Cry 3 quote

"The first time someone told me that... I dunno, I thought he was bullshitting me so boom, I shot him. But the thing is, he was right"

So yeah, I'd probably shoot my older self. Then when I get older and begin to love MLP, I will remember NOT to tell my past self about my MLP addiction so I won't get shot. But wait, that'll mean my past self will never find out I love MLP, and that was the question of this thread.... I'm confused

I don't think i'd bat an eye. I've always been fond of "girly" shows. Besides, i'd have wayyyy more to tell her that would shock her

I think it'd go something like this -

Me: you're going to like my little pony when you're almost 20!

Past me: umm, ok

Me: oh by the way you're also gonna convert to paganism and be really into women

Past me: *faints*

So if you went back in time and told your past self that one day, they would enjoy a show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, how would they react and take it?

Mine would either laugh or ask "WHY???"

So discuss away!

I wouldn't have had any problems with it.  If anything it would have meant that I watched it from episode 1 rather than catching it in season 2.  Of course there are MUCH more important things I would rather tell my past self if I had the chance -- or if I had the chance to send one piece of parchment to myself.

The other problem is it could end up a real life version of "It's About Time."

My younger self would be really confused and ponder about what I had said and would probably just push it to the side as some joke.

I'm not even kidding  When I was little, I watched Kim Possible, Totally Spies and the Powerpuff Girls instead of what most boys my age were watching :P

That was part of the reason I had no problem jumping into MLP, and part of the reason that I didn't mind seeing or speaking to someone with a pony avatar before my days as a brony :D

Of course, had I known about lovely lady Rarity, I probably woulda jumped into the show ASAP

I loved Kim Possible!

I would probably be like "Who are you, really? And what are you doing in my house?" But after I calmed down, I would watch the video.

I probably wouldn't get the chance to tell my past self.  My past self would probably be like "OMG you have muscles!  Hey, there are a few people I need you to beat up..."

But nah, he probably wouldn't believe it.  I wasn't so much into the girly stuff back then.

My past self would laugh in my face. As it is, my past self remembered enduring the original My Little Pony, courtesy of his little sister, and didn't think much of the overly cutesy storylines.

It would take my past self a lot of convincing that a later version would have more intelligent writing that didn't talk down to the audience and with stories that were relevant and well presented.

So instead, I wouldn't bother going back to talk about My Little Pony with my past self and continue on with my plan to go to Woodstock instead, like I always wanted to if time travel became a possibility.

My past self would probably call the police and have me held up in prison for impersonation.

So I probably shouldn't visit him

If i would do that, I would destroy myself from the past and cause time paradox, because time traveling is dangerous.

I cannot read the reactions, but I am sure I wouldn't believe it at first, but who cares because it will never gonna happen: if I see myself at the past.

But of course: be warned that you see yourself from the future. This will cause happening something that shouldn't have happen in your past and creates time paradox so possibly your past self will be destroyed. Edited by StormBolt24

Depends on how far into the past.

I probably would have immediately gone to watch show (if it were G4, that is) assuming I was aware of these colorful ponies that popped up on cheezburger. I actually thought it was just some other regular show people watched on TV (unaware that it had brought in another unintended audience). I always feel like I'm late to the party and join stuff that's pretty cool long after it has started. I hate being late (relatively late, at least). I "joined" the fandom 2 years after the show was aired (it's been a year, so that's about a third of how long the show's been aired...).

My past self would likely be incredibly ticked ( to put it mildly ) that I would use the chance at telling myself info from the future, to simply tell him that I will like a specific TV show.

I know there's a place you walked
Where love falls from the trees
My heart is like a broken cup
I only feel right on my knees.
I spit out like a sewer hole
Yet still receive your kiss
How can I measure up to anyone now
After such a love as this?

2011 or later, it wouldn't be a surprise, but any time before my past self would look at me like I was an idiot. I became a brony relatively recently, but my friend was a brony well before that, so 2011 me would be aware of the fandom and open minded. Pre-2011 me would be thinking G3...

Depends on how far back. a few months to 2 years ago I would probably be like "Okay.. why do I like it? There must be a good reason if I like it." now 3+ years " AWWW HEEEEEELLLL NAWWWWW. Never in your lifetime! I bet you're not even me!"... Eeyup.
