Which antagonist do you want a reprise for?

So, 5 seasons and we've been introduced to many, many antagonists and villains. I, personally, want to see more of Chrysalis' again as well as Trixie, although I don't particularly like the latter.

 

Which villains/antagonists would you like to see again? Why? How would you like them to return?

Actually what I'd love to see happen is a former protagonist/support character come back and be the antagonist for an episode or two, like maybe the four ponies from Our Town in The Cutie Map take the lesson to far and go in the exact opposite direction of Starlight Glimmer (ie pushing the individual's needs above the groups/problems with Objectivism) int and it's up to the Mane 6 to try to resettle the balance once more.

Since we have already had a Gilda episode, I think Chrysalis & Trixie are the 2 most likely repeat villains, although Trixie is supposed to be reformed

LIGHTNING DUST! She's a great foil to dash. that being said, I DON'T want to see her reformed. I'd like to keep some minor antagonists "evil", and I think LD would be good for a minor antagonist for RD. Plus, her personality seems very sociopathic in that she seems incapable of aknowledging things or PEOPLE that don't affect her personally, which works against her being reformed.

That being said, I think all of the shadowbolts are supposed to end up being "good" at heart and reformed at the end to be just as good of friends as the mane six-- in this scenario, LD being rainbow dash's opposite on the shadowbolts would be problematic if they don't want to reform her, yeah?

Probably doubtful about sombra though; the comics have pretty much taken over telling his story and all about his life, which implies the show basically washed their hands of him.

If they ever brought sombra back they'd basically have to do Fiendship is magic 1 as an episode, and that'd seem redundant.

Gotta go Sombra. I think he is a villain with such untapped potential. He is one of the most devious in the show considering he enslaved an entire kingdom, but we just did not get to see much of him, he did not really do anything. Plus, I want to hear him speak more than two words.

I think that its time for the Great and Powerful Trixie to make a comeback. As sheplayed a significant role in her two episodes and I always want to see Trixie going up against Alicorn Twilight in a future episode.

Unpopular opinion, but oh well... I'm always super duper excited to see the good ol' G1 villains come back to life in FiM - with new designs and new agendas! Like Lord Tirek or the Smooze! 

 

Let's face it - the G1 villains sucked. Well, most of them. They were poorly designed and had no depth whatsoever... But FiM gives them a chance for a total makeover. I absolutely love how the new show staff recycles the old motifs! What they did to Tirek is fantastic - they made him fit the new pony universe seamlessly.

 

So I wish they could reintroduce Catrina to the show. I'm curious what she would look like in the FiM style... And I just love anthropomorphic characters.

Why the great and glorious King Sombra of course! So much untapped potential there that was thrown away for the sake of just having another simple friendship obstacle the Mane 6 must overcome and for Spike to get a moment in the limelight. With the backstory given to him in the comics it just screams for him to make a return on the show in some way. I'm all for it to happen!

 

I'd love for Chrysalis to show up again too. The Changelings again are just too awesome an idea to be done in a simple two-parter. How many times do we see the CMC get up to their usual antics and yet the antagonists can't get any love outside the season openers/endings?

Actually I prefer them dealing with Sombra in the comics as his stories can get dark. His comic was the only comic to break the G (or was it PG?) rating to 12+. AND IT WAS GREAT.

 

Crysalis is also another pretty big comic villian, and the show would need to at least acknowlege the comics or else potentially anger some people.

 

Personally, I want to see more Nightmare Moon. If they want to keep the nightmare parasite idea, they could definately do something with that. We've yet to have a villian who used to be good in the show. And those villians are always favorites of mine (Two-Face comes to mind).

Sombra. He screams with potential, and was dreadfully underused and defeated so easily. Imagine his return as a more developed villain with justified motivations, and was the final villain of the show at the finale.

I like nightmare moon, I truly do. But I just don't see how they'd do it, yeah? I mean, Luna is an incredibly popular character as she is, and Nightmare moon and her are one and the same. Nightmare moon's appeal was how luna herself felt about her being snubbed, and Luna's gotten over that.

As such, if you turned luna back into nightmare moon now, you'd end up just with a character who *looked* like nightmare moon without possessing the personality traits and motivation that makes people like her. (And IDW's already trying that by having Luna and Nightmare moon essentially being distinct personalities/beings, which has NOT worked out well).

 

 

They could do something well though if they have the pony of shadows end up having Luna's memories and personality, but be unable to let go of its hatred and jealousy, and having it identify as Luna (essentially having a clone of luna that views itself as the real deal, still identifying Celestia as its sister, feeling neglected, ect)

I'm always up for more Ahuizotl. But he's being dealt with by Daring Do, so I don't imagine that'll happen much.

But more Sombra characterization would be REALLY awesome. <3
