Best:

 

- Getting my tenor saxophone! I <3 it so much.

~Getting to be in my university's orchestra.

- Getting high scores for this last semester - my first semester at university with more work and stress than I've ever had.

- Getting a job and having my own money for once.

- Freeing myself from religion once and for all.

 

Worst:

 

~Intermittent feelings of really just not wanting to live anymore. Even though it's still before my time.

~Consistent feelings of quitting school and music. Even though they are what make me happy. It's a very complex issue with me. Although when I thought about quitting music, I couldn't bear it, so I decided to try one more semester...

~Losing contact with a friend who was always accepting of me.

~Getting further and further away from another, because he's not (and has also become increasingly religious and conservative altogether).

~With those two, and other things, I've just felt very lonely all year long.

Worst moment: Nearly losing my job because I did something stupid (out of ignorance but it was stupid nonetheless)

• All the ways I changed as a result of going to BronyCon
• Finding this place, the most exemplary segment of our fanbase I've ever encountered
• Losing my job

As lame as it may sound, that's all I have for the good list, all items but one pertaining to MLP.

 

The bad:

• One of my dogs dying
• Getting the flu twice
• Losing my job (it fits under both lists)
• ????

Best: Became a better friend and made new ones

 

Worst: A very stressful November where nothing worked out the way I planned

 

Most of the important stuff that happened this year happened near the end. It was funny, around August I was thinking "Wow, this year has been much less awesome than 2011", but actually I'm happy with how things have turned out. Not quite as pivotal as 2011, but I've still improved myself and became more mature. 2013 is going to be awesome!

- Loss of Saturday morning hibernation period (curse you, MLP live streams!)

- One class that I learned absolutely nothing from and received a final mark of 96% without trying

 

Not many bad things really happened this year thankfully. Hopefully the bad section stays as empty next year as it is this year. Although seriously, Flash Player needs to die and I attribute 93.29% of all my browser crashes to it.

• Getting early acceptance into U of T
• Getting a baby nephew
• Becoming a part of the brony community

• Grandpa died (This actually had me depressed for a really long time, but he was due I guess, he was 99 after all)
• Trying to get into the FF series finally and hating every game I tried
• Achilles Tendon injury, couldn't play footy for 2 months!

I'd say, overall, 2012 has been pretty good

 

Best stuff:

 

- Actually got good grades this semester (including my first actual "A" instead of "A-"!) Everyone says it is super hard to get an "A" at BU and so far, that's been true. I also had my thesis proposal accepted on the first try!

- Election Day - Yay, Obama! I was kind of worried for a bit, but so glad it worked out. I also had a great potluck at my place on Election Day which was really fun

- Thanksgiving - I made the best decision ever this year to have Thanksgiving dinner with friends who were staying in Boston, rather than accompany another friend to her relatives' place in NYC. As it was, there was no stress whatsoever and it was really fun and enjoyable

- Having my family visit Boston - I thought for sure this was going to be awful, but it actually turned out really fun. I got to do a lot of expensive things that I wouldn't be able to afford on my own.

- Working on a musical - Over the summer, some friends and I started writing a musical. Not sure where it will go, but it has been fun and is a great way to keep the creative juices flowing.

- Musical class - My class over the summer. IDK, I just loved it.

- Working on my TV show - Did I mention I am making up my own TV show? Well, I am making up my own TV show! I've been working on it for years, but this is the first time I've actually been brave enough to tell other people about it!

- My friend Jimmy's comedy shows - Because it's always good to laugh once in a while.

- Some really good movies in theaters including Life of Pi, The Avengers, The Hunger Games and This is 40.

- The world not ending on December 22nd - Haha. Just kidding. I knew it wasn't going to!

 

Worst stuff:

- Unfortunately, Christmas break has SUCKED. I came home to Montana to visit my family and go skiiing, but I pulled my calf muscle while skiing a Black Diamond and now I really can't do anything. Also, my mom and I haven't been getting along (which isn't too unusual) and my sister, who has Aspergers, has been having a lot of issues lately that stress out the whole family. Plus I had to go to the dentist and eye doctor, neither of which are fun holiday activities. Lots of friends from home are out of town, too...

- Hurricane Sandy - We didn't get hit as bad in Boston, but it was still really scary/shitty.

- One of my friends in my program, who was pretty much my best friend last year, just randomly decided we aren't friends any more and basically treated me like a stranger all semester long. I tried to invite her to do things with my other friends and I, but she always came up with excuses not to (and later just ignored me entirely). I guess it is because she is super busy/stressed, but it still sucks.

Graduating high school, getting my truck, meeting @Misty Breeze , starting college, getting not one but TWO jobs....and having an AWESOME Summer.  
 

Worst moments....can’t really think of any to be honest. If anything they were just your typical everyday situations.

Best:

- Finally getting acceptance from my family. It was like my third time coming out. Third time's the charm, I guess.

 

Worst:

- Losing a precious dog. He lived a lot longer than expected, but that didn't make it easy, of course.

- Surgery and recovering from it.

- Those times I have had to work with the excruciating foot pain.

- May, where we were bombarded by constant tornado warnings. I'm always scared of Spring, but that month was, as my mom put it, "almost like living in a warzone". Of course, that comes off as a bad exaggeration, but she was referring mainly to the constant sirens that happened nearly every day. We're just lucky that none of the tornadoes actually hit us.

- Me not working much and lots of other bad fortune has made this a financially rough year.

 

I feel bad not having more positives to post than that, but it is a big positive, it just turns out it has been a pretty rough year.
